Re: Medical Wing

*Talon listens as the Doctor explains the situation.*

*That sounds like a gruesome virus. He wonders if there is imperial knight armor can stop the infected from biting someone and thus spreading the virus.*

*Upon hearing himself being volunteered to help with the rescue effort, he turns and follows Rowan out the door.*

Re: Medical Wing

"Well, mass vaccinations are expensive and time consuming, but once the vaccine is prepared it'll be easy to distribute the cocktail via the holonet. Then you establish a buffer zone starting in systems the virus can't have reached by that time, then work your way inward with the vaccinations. Any supposed 'cure' wouldn't be able to reverse the affects of the virus once it's taken hold, however. Rotted flesh is still rotted and you don't want to know what the brain looks like after this gets into it, and there's no reversing either of those. But if you developed a pathogen, say, a predator virus that eats the cell which causes this rabies and shuts down- that is, killed- the infected for good... Released it into the atmosphere, not the water supply since they don't drink... 'course the hardest bit would be to make the pathogen otherwise harmless to all sentient life... And bioweaponry is banned even among the Sith."

Levi bent the flask back again.

"You'd need to find someone with a background in medical and bio-engineering, from a top notch school Core World school, willing to otherwise throw his or her career away to break every wartime treaty in the galaxy. Otherwise, yeah, your options would be living in space or mobilizing the entire sector- man, woman, child and in-between. If you're looking to ride it out in style, my parents have a pretty good star yacht."

*Devlin continues to pace. He tries to keep his back to Levi in order to hid his smile.*

"And just where, my friend, would you suggest I begin my search for such a fellow?"

*Coming to a stop, he leans his arm against the wall and rests his head upon it.*

"In truth, I'd almost rather wait out the storm in a star yacht." *He sighs.* "But that is not the life of a Jedi."

*He knew his duty. He would not, could not, stand by while innocents might be suffering. He would not abandon systems to pain and torment.*

Re: Medical Wing

*Zero had been standing patiently, taking in all the information and allowing Devlin to ask all the questions. This virus was bad, very bad. This wasn't a threat just to the Jedi, not even just to Ossus, but to the galaxy itself and every living being inside it. Something must be done and quickly.

Once more it would fall upon the Jedi of Ossus to do what was right by potentially doing something 'wrong'. And what would the galaxy thank the Jedi with? Scorn and disapproval. Never mind the fact that they just saved the entire galaxy, it all came down to politics in the end, the fact that the Jedi may have to break some rules to save them. Zero sighed, as Jedi they had taken the oath to serve and protect those that couldn't themselves and they must obey that code. He stepped forward, breaking his silence.*

"This is a very serious matter, one that could once more breach the barrier between doing what the politicians say is 'right' and what we believe is right. We must tread very carefully if we wish to not draw their destructive gaze."

*He paused for a moment before continuing with his proposal.*

"If Devlin so wishes, I shall go and seek this.. scientist instead." *He turned to face Devlin directly.* "With all due respect my friend, you have just returned from solitude in the Jungles of Ossus, you need rest, company and your home. Let me go instead, with Rowan and Orin if he is available, both of my former learners. I feel that our connections to each other may come in handy."

Re: Medical Wing

"If you mean to bully me into this project, Master Jedi, you'll have to know that I cannot guarantee that whatever viral pathogen I release won't mutate and evolve into a new and more deadly plague. Now I could search for a natural predator to the virus and just introduce it to the same environment. Let nature truly work its course. But again, the consequences of that act are infinitely complex. Also, the amount of alcohol I'll require to ignore the ethical implications and ramifications will be of a staggering quantity."

Levi shrugged, not wanting to appear a complete downer, but the realities of biological contagions and genetic engineering were neither simple nor pleasant. The Jedi had few options and very little time to come to their conclusions. Days, maybe.

"I'll follow your orders on this. Whatever they are. But aside from the untested vaccine, whose DNA code I've already forwarded to Coruscant Naval Hospital for mass production, there's very little more I can realistically do."

Levi's eyebrow perks up at the com message.

"I'm not a kath hound to come when called, Orin. But if you're implying what I think you're implying, then I'll be there momentarily."

Levi grabbed one of his vaccine shots and donned his lab coat.

"Gentlemen, decide what you'll decide, and I'll be back to do what you'll decide. Now excuse me."

*Devlin shrugs.*

"It is your choice, Dr. Rose."

*He watches the doctor leave. Then turns to Typhor.*

"You may take on this project with my blessing, Master Zero. I know the Force will guide you to the proper path, of that I am most certain."

*He smiles at his friend.*

"Your insights have served you well so far, my friend."

Re: Medical Wing

*Zero watched the doctor leave the room before addressing his old friend once more. A smile crept onto his face, compliments from Devlin were always appreciated. He bowed his head as a sign of respect.*

"Your words are kind. I shall not fail you or the Ossus Jedi. I shall head off immediately to counteract this threat."

*He chuckled lightly.*

"Maybe one day we can sit back and relax together, train Jedi and watch the clouds roll by in peace. But today is not that day. Farewell for now my friend."

*He bowed his head again and left.*
