As far as what was hit on the planet, it was just ArSec (which was a dead forum and non-canon, so it was completely destroyed - an archive request is in the works), Garqi Academy (same status and fate), and the Ruins of the AoC (same status and fate), along with Wlesc (dead, but canon, so I didn't destroy it, just destroyed all the military stuff that was left there after the UFFW packed up their forces and left) and the planet's caf industry (also canon, but can be rebuilt and within a year IC will have another crop). The planetary defense personnel either renounced allegiance to Inky and resigned from the military (when he returns, I'll bet it gets ugly for them), were killed, or stayed loyal to him and were taken as prisoners who will be allowed to return home once they renounce him. All vehicles, weapons, and military hardware that were encountered on the ground and in orbit were slagged.

Yes, it was an epic ending for sure, and a heck of a lot of fun to read and RP.

I wish more writers could have fun with this instead of being afraid of losing IC.

Ok, for the last time, and I do mean the last time, I will make another redundant clarification: [u:3by4s1vl]The PI's stuff was not touched.[/u:3by4s1vl]

Also, [i:3by4s1vl]if[/i:3by4s1vl] the PI's forces were the planet's defense allotment, as soon as we got the planet via abandonment, they were no longer PI troops, since defense forces belong to a planet and not to their faction. So, being the nice guy I am, I gave you guys an escape in that and decided not to have the PI lose troops at all (even though I had the right to, due to the abandonment) and just rid the planet of any troops and forces (and Golans - which were left by the UFFW) that were loyal to Dason and Inky.

In fact, it could be fun SL to plant rumors IC that the PI has some secret loyalty, alliance, or even engaged in bribery and that's why they came out of it without a scratch. Maybe even make it look like a set-up so that the PI could take full control of the planet.

But anyways, the only damage the PI took in this whole endeavor had to do with what was was RPed between Atia and I: those four probe droids (negligible, since probes don't factor into fleet or army limits), a damaged SD due to the accidental collision (IC) with my Carrack, their pride - Atia already RPed that the PI forces had gotten lazy and were unaware of what happened - and poor old Baudrick.

I lost some troops, a whole ship, and if anyone's looking to even the score, I did drop some probes of my own so that the crew on my ships will know what happened to Baudrick, as they were taking bets on his fate.

Destroying probes may be negligible OOC, but IC that is an act of war, at least by Imperium law

If that's the case, then the PI has real insecurity issues about their technology. Most respectable governments and militaries understand that probes are expendable, and are likely to be destroyed as it is. But I guess if one's looking for an excuse, it doesn't matter how pathetic one make one's faction look to the rest of the galaxy. At least the Greeks fought the Trojans over a woman.

It would make for an interesting story though: The Empire that fought a war over a few scraps of metal. Would definitely promote the image IC that the PI was not completely sane, and would make for plenty of good jokes for the rest of the characters in the galaxy to laugh about as well. I can see one off-duty soldier spilling his drink on another comrade in a bar and getting the response, "According to the PI, that's an act of war." Then both of them laughing at how insecure and crazy some governments are and being glad they're not a part of such an organization. Fun stuff.

Anyways, as it has been stated numerous times already by numerous people, it wasn't connected with the BG at all, nor was their name mentioned at any point IC, and there are no dots to connect IC either, so there's no dragging them into it. In fact, I don't think they have even learned about it yet.

Who mentioned the Black Guard other than Inky?

It has been firmly established ooc that the BG has nothing to do with this. However, Iw ould like to make a clarification.

Inky is almost as paranoid as ATD, but he hides it well. Also, he isnt stupid. If the shoe fits and all that. Of course he would initially think it was BG that attacked, simply through Aalia, and a few others who are members of the BG. Now, I am definitely not saying its BG, lets get that clear right away. Just try and look at it from OUR characters positions.

Just to clarify.

Probes are sent in, at least by my estimation, of two reasons: One, Scann, and recon.
Second, see what the situation is about. If the probes gets destroyed, that tells a LOT about the people in orbit.

They dont want that whoever ccomes in knows what they are doing, and that is an act of agression. Thus, it is not the destruction of the probes in itself, but the act of agression that is fworned upon.

That and probes cost money... Nothing pisses off an empire more than dipping into their pocket book

Since there's nothing in the TG entry saying that I can't do so, and since the lack of a timely response is holding up my SL, I'm NPCing planetary control just for the purposes of getting my character on the planet. It's just for a personal SL, and has nothing to do with trying to take or harm anyone or anything on the planet.
