Mustafar was a small planet located in the Mustafar system of the Outer Rim Territories, coreward of Rutan, between the Hydian Way and the Ninth Quadrant.

Once a lush green world, Mustafar was home to many Jedi Enclaves during the days of the Galactic Republic. When the Sith became powerful, a climactic battle took place on the planet. This battle was so intense that one of the nearby gas giants was pulled into its current location by the Force, starting the gravimetric tug-of-war. The enviromental hazards caused by this tug-of-war forced the Jedi to abandon their temples on the planet. During the Clone Wars, the main Separatist stronghold was located in a massive industrial complex located on a fiery cliff. It was also here that Darth Vader, formally Anakin Skywalker, stormed this stronghold under the orders of Darth Sidious and slew the Separatist Leaders. It was also here that Darth Vader had his Legendary duel with his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Current History of Mustafar:
Following the dissolution of the Alliance, the second in command of the disbanded order joined the Imperial Remnant and convinced them to make him Moff of the lava world. Ishmael now governs Mustafar and handles all matters that take place on the planet or in her orbit. But after the planet was abandoned and was left to the natives to run, governorship was handed over to Zalera Seraph, who in turns sits as the planetary governor for the Braeden Clan.
