Re: Deeper into the Darkness I: The Forge

*Al-kimia, known more commonly to the sorcerers as "the pit," had an eerie chill to it even though it was a room full of blazing-hot smelting furnaces and forges. It was a sign that the Dark Side of the Force hung heavy there, swirling about in all of it's malevolent power. It was here that the archane craft of Sith alchemy was taught and practiced by the Sorcerer's of Rhand. It was here that Darth Rebellious, or Qel-vann Vos as he was called by the sorcerers because or their disapproval of Sith titles and traditions, would also learn the art.

Those that did not command the Dark Side would surely flee in fear of the great darkness or be corrupted, but not Vos. Qel-vann found comfort in the malicious aura, it fed him, empowered him; trained in the Dark Side and a true Sith. The Kiffar had spent days meditating and basking in the vast darkness of the Keep after being brought here by Maliik Cassus to wait for the Master Alchemist. He was told that he would learn the craft from the best they had, and the Sith Lord looked forward to it. He was ready, or at least he thought so and it would seem that the elderly Rodian thought so as well to bring him here after forcing the prospective sorcerer to philosophize.

He looked around the dimly lit room without a word, making note of the many forges and stockpiles of material as he patiently waited for this Master Alchemist to arrive. The only thing that kept the pit from becoming deathly quiet was the sound of monstrous abominations scratching and howling in their cages in the lower levels.*
