Re: Yavin 8

Yavin Station, Military Sector, Simulation Training Facility

Having concluded the training session with fairly acceptable results, Camarann clambers out of the Simulator Pod. She thought her body too accurately simulated organic feelings and imperfections. Of course, this was because she believed she is a Human Replica Droid, and not an actual organic being. but she felt cramps and pain, and tried her best to shrug off such sensations. Some of the other trainees appeared to be taking their time about leaving the simulation pods, and she decided to leave Yavin 8 without them first. She wanted to go see Harmony on the surface and find out how her master was doing while she was away. Taking the first shuttle down to the Jedi Praxeum, Camarann plays back the entire battle scenario to pass the time.

Re: Yavin 8

After the encounter with the injured man, Inferno, the fire suppressant incident in the hangar bay, the dreams and a very angry Chiss woman, Syren had finally made it into orbit around Yavin VIII. Her ancient and rather thoroughly beaten X-Wing came in on an approach vector on the far side of Yavin Station and into a descent towards the eighth moon.

The dreams had compelled her to come up here, and she had left Maeve as well as the rest of the crew of the Bucket O' Rust down on Yavin IV. In case anyone was looking for the Thallassan Jedi Knight, they could reach her through them, or they could always challenge her from one orbit or another. Comms could get through anything, and it was not like her X-Wing was unidentifiable. It still sported faded TIE kills on the portside panel from the Rebellion. While it was old, it was hardy and well kept as far as engine components went. Maeve was fantastic with machines, and not a bad pilot either.

Syren was not sure how many people resided on Yavin VIII. She knew of a race that lived underground called the Melodies, another part of her dreams and a quick reference in the archives, but the Yavin military force may have outposts here as well. As such, she wanted no part with the military force. They would get in her way, and having to ask them for anything would become tedious, but if they had to make their involvement a part of her self proclaimed mission, she left her comm open.

Re: Yavin 8

Meeting no opposition to her descent onto the eighth moon, Syren takes the X-wing fighter down to land in the mountainous tundra. Popping the canopy of the X-Wing, Syren descended to the ground quickly, retaining her flight suit in the presence of the chill, dry air. R9-Y4 warbled cautiously, his scans for lifeforms seemed to be picking up something large nearby, though it slipped in and out of his heat sensing capabilities.

Syren crouched towards the ground her breath coming out in frothy crystals. Along the ground and snow were deep scratches. Belly scale prints from a large reptile. There had been a Reel nearby. A great shadow passed overhead, cast by the red light of the gas giant. It was eerie how the giant bird of prey, the avril stalked the giant snake, that would inevitably try to stalk Syren.

"R9, stay with the ship. I don't think the local fauna have much taste for X-wings, but droids might be on the menu." She loosened her flightsuit a little for easier movement and wrapped her utility belt around her waist. With lightsabers bouncing along each hip, she trekked out into the wilderness of Yavin 8, senses alert and wary of the life on the moon.

Re: Yavin 8

The Reel had yet to attack, probably hiding from the Avril that kept circling. Syren had run into several of the rodent denizens of the moon, the ROUS's easily dispatched with a simple glamour to the rodent mind. Syren had no desire to stock pile dead rodent for feasting, so the tweaking of a feral beast's mind to leave her alone was a better path. Kill or make a suggestion she wasn't food, it was a hard decision as to which would lead her down the path to darkness, at least to some.

Syren herself no longer drew the energy to contemplate such matters. She was the way she was, over sensitive to the thoughts of others through the Force. She could, if she tried, break deeper into minds and wreck havoc there, as she had done with the Raith. But the surface thoughts were often enough to overwhelm her.

Now, she was taking precautions, vigilance to keep any thoughts not her own from seeping in. With great power often comes a great disability. The vigilance also kept the dreams away, encouraging a lack of sleep and the occasional slip of focus. She could not stay awake forever.

A rustle in the boulders alerted her to another's presence. Slipping. She should have been able to detect the Purella yards before it had sneaked up on her here. With a hissing and clattering, the giant arachnid bounded from the rocks, a most efficient ambush predator. With fangs dripping venom, it lunged at Syren.

Syren reached for the Force then using the energy field around the spider to catch it in a Force grip. She successfully managed to pull the spider's back leg towards her in a vicious tug. The maneuver caused the spider to flip onto its back, struggling with the air and screeching. The sound almost drowned out the echo of the Avril as it dove to capture the spider in its talons.

Syren ducked under the rush of wings and scrape of claws. Purella blood gushed as those talons drove into the sides, lifting the burden of the giant spider into the air. She watched in awe as the king in the land of giants took to the air.

Eyes began to glitter from around the rock cropping, silvery blue. Syren cautiously stepped up from the ground, listening hard through the Force as she approached the glittering eyes. Black webs bound several wriggling forms.

"Hold still." She whispered as the long fin bone extended from her wrist. With the sharp edge she made an angled cut in the thick webbing binding the creature. In several minutes and tense cutting, three young Melodies stood gathered around Syren, the smallest one trying to hold the Thallassan's hand with a big grin on her face.

"Jeedai!" The little sing-song voices seemed very excited as the chanted and danced around her. Syren raised an eyebrow at the children. So Inferno had recently met with Melodies? Syren shook her shagging green head turning in the direction the oldest child was heading. The other two were skipping at her side trying to pull on her jumpsuit.

<<Always have to play hero...>> She shook her head slightly and followed the children in silence. At least they were not asking many questions just yet.

Yavin Station, Military Sector, Simulation Training Facility

As Zolomon exited the Training Pod, the old man pondered about the results his evaluation would show. Though he was rather old, as humans go, the man still kept his wits about him. It's what allowed him to live this long. To outlive his own wife and children. Quickly shutting out such thoughts and memories, he proceeded to the locker rooms, and changed back into his casual clothing. While the squad waited for their results, they could take some time off to explore all the services the station had to offer.

Deciding to take the opportunity presented to him, Zolomon made his way for Yavin Station, taking a shuttle over.

Re: Yavin 8

-Past the battle of Kamino. Past the Return Home. Past Debriefing. Past grieving.-

*The 47 year old man standing in uniform on the piedestal took off his glasses, laid it on the podium besides his speach he only had there because that is what the podium is for, and looked over the troops before him. They were a lot less then the ones that went over to Kamino. These were the survivors, surely a big part of them were torn by the survivals guilt that most sentient beings with emotions are attacked with. They also owned the hard training of Marines, not any marines but the Jedi Order Auxillar Marine Corps. They owned one of the best training of crack troops in the galaxy, and that was not only for aiming of rifle, of combat tactics of endurance and use of equipment. It was for the training given them mentally by their own hero, the person that saved the most lives in the Kamino konflict, the person who should be standing where Major Makk Norrad stood.

Garrison Lothair.

Makk took off his glasses because he wanted to see the men and women before him with his own eyes. This was a lie of course, it was a white lie. He only saw mashed up colours. He wanted the men and women to know he looked at them with his own eyes. It was for them he was nearly blind now.
Makk Norrad was your general tabletop General. He did some small combat service in the wars aboard the mraz as a young man, then he was studying military technology, history, tactics, modern and old battles. He was more like a consultant for the longest of his career, serving on the Mraz. He made both life and efficency on that ship rise significantly, and he was a welcommed addtion onboard the bridge for advice. He was also a backdrop figure behind the entire JOAMC programe, controlling logistics, training program, tactics and equipment output for the Corps. One can say, that he was a silent sidekick to Garrison Lothair, whom he respected greatly.

That is why the thing behind covered by white silken linnen was so close to his heart.

The men and women were standing in attention ordered after platoons. Silence took place. The Major cleared his throat, and achustics flew even this sound around so everyone could hear it.*

"Men and Women of the Jedi Order Auxilary Marine Corps. I Salute you."

*He saluted them. For a moment there was total silence, and then he continued, his glasses still on the podium.*

"As most of you know, I am Major Makk Norrad, newly appointed Tactical officer of the JOAMC. It is with great grief and determination I have accepted the position as temporary commander of the Corps, in wake of SGM Lothairs Missing in Action Status after the Kamino affair.
...
..
.
The Kamino Affair was a hard hit to us, and the Galactic Republic. We lost good people, we lost good lifes. But they are lost. All we can do for them is hold their memmory dear and not letting their secrefice go to waste. Some say Kamino was a victory. It was in the histroy books of the future, and all of you will be their crusaders, while those dieing for this cause will be heroes. It is for this occasion we are now raising the Gunhilde Monument."

*The linen was drawn away, and the bronze statue was shown. It was a fist breaking through water, holding the legendary hair removal equioment used by Lothair himself to clear the heads of new recruits. It was strong, it was methaphoric, and even if they did not call it after Lothair himself, since he was still listed MIA, everybody knew why it was there...*

Re: Yavin 8

*The major continued.*

"Even so our hearts stay in the past, we must look into the future. This trial by Fire the JOAMC has gone through is a military victory, and we are gaining more support. With temporary change in leadership, change will come to the Corps too.
...
..
.
This force is a moile first strike army against anything that would threten the way of life of any sentient spicies under or out of the controll of any government. It doesnt matter if you are GCCS, NR, NOE, SI, GC or PhD. Those are just letters, without true meanings. What bind us, what binds all sentient creatures is the Force. Many think it is the Force that make jedi who they are, but it is not. It is peace and justice. It is all around us, binds us, penetrates us. It is in the rock, in the water and in the air. And may you be jedi or just mare people, you have the right for it by BIRTH!

And it is this Birthright the Jedi Order Auxilary Marine Corpse has secreficed so others can live with it.

And for this, we will need to be mobile, and ever vigilant. There will be new training sessions, teaching you all to live on ships and fight in space, air, ground and sea. There will be no inch of this galaxy yuo will not reach, no inch in this galaxy wich will not be defended and protected by us. No inch given to tyranny and dispair.

NO INCH GIVEN!"

*he raised his hand, just the same way the large fist behind him, the Gunhilde Monument.*

Re: Yavin 8

"Now honestly, Adan, be realistic. It just can't happen."

::If I may be so bold, that's nonsense, Sir. I've fought Jedi before. And I've won. Besides, what have you got to lose?::

"No. You've never fought a Jedi Master. It's not a fair fight."

::Sir, in war, no fight is fair.:: ::Keep it.::

"Fine."
