*She smiled broadly and almost instinctively turned to look at him...whihc would have been rather pointles. Instead she tickled her sons stomach, which not suprisingly resulted in little more than a coo and smiled thoughtfully down at her son*

Re: The Magister's Palace

It is time young one...time to go back to were it all began

*Hawk stiffens, and seperates herself from Dace's embrace, slowly putting the child into his arms and smiling sadly. Her bare feet make no noise as she exits the room, turning at the doorway*

I have something I must do....

*Her face was troubled as she exited the room*

*Gavin's D3 speeder stops at the palace and Gavin gets off, making his way inside. He goes around to every room knocking. He finds that Hawk wasn't there. He hadn't heard much from her lately and Niera herself had been quieter than usual. He went back outside and jumped on the speeder, heading for Asgard.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*Hafid lingered before the ornate mirror studying the reflection.*

Only my eyes show youth.

*Staff in hand he crept slowly across the marble floor passing between black onyx columns that supported the ceiling which was covered with gold and silver. Walls inlaid with gems.

He walked into a very large room towards the front of the palace. Erasmus, his apprentice, awaited him with a look of concern on his face.*

Good evening master.

*They were both uncloaked and you could see the age of Hafid in his hair.*

Old friend, how much knowledge of the Force do you believe I have?

I couldn't fathom master.

*Hafid nodded and attempted a slight smile. The next words that would be spoken would change everything.*

I believe there is nothing more for me to learn of the living Force. It is now time for me to become one with the Force.

*The apprentice opened his mouth but could not utter a word. Finally, the words came out.*

I cannot comprehend this...

*The old man smiled as he began to speak.*

I know you can remember your first lesson with me. Have I ever misguided you?

No you have not and you have trained other great Jedi.

Yes, so don't fret. I am still that same man from all those years ago. I can teach you nothing further. You are a Jedi Knight. You will soon be a master. Your final task is to pass the knowledge you know to another but first you will learn one last thing.

But...

*He raised his hand up immediately to silence his padawan.*

Listen, I know this is a difficult task but you can handle it. I know.. I must rejoin my family but I need you to continue this legacy.

*The old Jedi reached to his hip and pulled his lightsaber off his belt and grabbed his apprentice's hand and placed it in his hand.*

This is yours now. Take care of it.

*The apprentice shed a tear. Reaching inside his cloak the old man grabbed a key. He pointed to a painting of a very old Jedi master and began to give instructions.*

This key opens a safe behind that painting. I have guarded the contents of that safe with my life and I am the only living soul who knows of it's existence. Now you will be the only living soul. You can share the contents with only one. I entrust you to make the correct decision of who that person is. Within holds the power for you to become the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy. With great power comes great responsibility. Protect those ideals and teachings with your life. Goodbye my friend.

*With that the old Jedi leaned his head back against the wall and within seconds vanished as his robes fell to the red felt of the bench which he had sat. The apprentice stood up, wiped his tears and approached the painting. He unlocked the safe and within he saw it. There it was. A Jedi holocron..*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*He studied the object with his eyes. He picked it up with both hands and raised it to eye level. After seeing that it was real he raised it up with both hands and smiled. He held it in his left hand and made his way to the study. When he entered he sat down behind a big chair with a huge desk in front of it. He placed the holocron down on the desk. The holocron came alive as a projected image appeared. Light in the form of an old man was visible. It was the gatekeeper of the holocron. The gatekeeper was old in form, dressed like a traditional Jedi and was fully cloaked. All you could see from within the hood was the long beard of the Jedi. Three words emanated from the holocron's gatekeeper.*

You are worthy.

*The holocron had spoken to Erasmus. He then began to learn his first lesson from the holocron. He wouldn't be able to move on to the next lesson until the first was mastered. It had began.*

*Erasmus sat there outside of the palace on Zonama Sekot. He was hidden within the Force. No living being could detect his presence. He sat atop a hill behind the palace on what appeared to be a gazebo. Legs crossed and eyes closed he studied the holocron. The holocron was still on his first lesson. The first lesson was about the living Force. He would probably be about 75% through this lesson at this point. Learning of Force Ghost in depth. This is the first lesson his master wanted him to learn before he moved on to the next step.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*He had finally reached 100% mastery of the first lesson. Now whether he would be a master in it's usage was a different story but he had learned all he could through the holocron on how to apply that knowledge he gained. The basis of that lesson was this: "Nothing is impossible with the Force." He almost felt as though he had wasted his time but it wasn't true at all. The number one way people learn is by repetition. So through reviewing a lesson he had learned many years ago he had a renewed sense of faith in the Force. With that new sense of faith in the Force he would be able to realize his true potential and teach it to a youngling.

Finishing that lesson had unlocked the next lesson in the holocron and he began to immerse himself in it once more. 1% completion so far.*

*His lessons continued. This lesson was about a power within the Force. The power he was studying at the moment was Force Enlightenment. When activated, this power took the defensive Force powers a Jedi was most skilled in, pushing them to the highest degree that the Jedi had previously mastered during his or her routine training. The end result will be an "enlightened" Jedi, having unlocked and harnessed fully the light side of the Force. He was now at 15% completion of learning about this power that came from the light side of the Force.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*Hidden amongst the trees, Shareed and his escort of eight warriors watched the collection of buildings directly ahead. They were still fatigued by their journey up the mountain, but being a former scout, the Intendant's senses were as keen as ever. He sniffed the air, noting the interesting fragrance wafted from the oddly named "palace". It was not even a true palace, at least in terms of how he had learn to define the word. Just a bunch of small buildings cresting a very large hill. His lips peeled back to reveal a sinister grin, while his twin mqaaq'it glowed a fierce crimson in the dark of night. It was quiet in the forest where he and his fellow Yuuzhan Vong lurked, eerily so. Yet despite this, they had managed to approach the main settlement undetected.*

*As to what came next, well, that was really the question of the hour. Should they reveal themselves to the members of their shared race? It was after all their purpose for coming. In the doing of so he would be following his orders, but there seemed little gain in it. Instead, why not take the opportunity to strike and claim? He had a masquer, and sure enough there was a shaper around that could condition it do a specific form. The scheming Intendant inside of him fought with the loyal member of the Praetorite, eventually overwhelming those loyalties and assuming control of Shareed's fate. First and foremost he was a member of Domain Yin, and like all Intendants, they did not let an opportunity go to waste.*

*Motioning to his guards, the ambassador moved to the nearest building. Following behind him were his armoured giants, whose own eyes shone with a crimson brilliance to match his own. He could see hot steam pour through the nostril slits in their crab plate helmets, filling the air with a fetid stench. In one motion of his hand Shareed gave the order to strike, and strike they did. One building after another, brutal and efficient. It was by no means the honorable battle the warriors had hoped for, but it was bloody, and for some that was enough. These zealots of the Order of Yun-Yammka sated their lust for violence and death on the lives of the unworthy. Within an hours time there was not a soul left beyond their own.*

*Shareed grinned, his face flecked with black drips.* *Stage one, complete. Stage two? Deceive the masses, soon to begin.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*In the days following the assassination, several things occurred. The first was the performance of several speeches by the magister, secretly a masquer clad Shareed in disguise, announcing the planet's desire to reconnect with its long lost sibling. This announcement was met by much apprehension of the Yuuzhan Vong present, who had heard of their peoples insatiable lust for violence. The "magister" assured them that all would be well, for Zonoma Sekot had no wish to put its people in harms way. Out of all, it was the non-Yuuzhan Vong that called the planet home who were most upset by this decision, but the numbers weighed the decision out of their favor.*

*It was then that the culling began. Shareed's body guards went out amongst the population, selecting former warrior caste members and instilling in them a sense of pride. Animosity felt towards the Shamed was already present, though until now there had been no catalyst to set their passions aflame and force their hands to action. Violence occurred, first in small quarrels, then it full out revolts. The eight armoured clad giants of Domain Lah led their new found flocks against those that resisted, and crushed them utterly. All the while, the sneaky-schemer of an Intendant looked on, fooling the people into submission with words of peace and harmony.* *Lies, all of them.*

*Isolated in an organically crafted building atop the mountain, Shareed reached into his robe and removed a villip. Stroking it surface, the creature inverted to display a familiar face. The Praetorite Council listened to the Intendant's report carefully, every last one of them sneering as they heard of the successful coup. They urged their man on further, demanding that he proceed with this unforeseen action and see it through to the end, whatever the outcome. In time, they would send a ship to further their dominion over the flock of sheep.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*From his place upon a precariously perched yorik-coral balcony, hanging recklessly over the vast drop of the mountain side below, Shareed watched transports emerge from the clouds and make their way towards the the compound. His hands clasped behind his back while his head bowed, deep in reflection as he thought on the past few week's events.* *His strength and influence was growing now. Not as great as Shendor's, but certainly more so than his former position among the Praetorite Guard. If he played his hand right in the days to come then there was every chance he would rise further, perhaps even reaching a plateau equal to that of his domain mate. No, that thought was short sighted. He didn't want equality, he wanted power. He would surpass his domain mate and secure a seat of his own upon the Praetorite Council, perhaps at its head.* *A sadistic grin spread across his face, causing his lips to peel back and reveal rows of yellow teeth. Scream-Wort, the Intendant's precious amphistaff, hissed and snapped its jaws as it sensed its master's brightening mood.*

*Offloaded from the transports at the base of the complex were Yuuzhan Vong from Tur Yenagh. All castes were represented, from Shaper to Intendant, and Warrior to Priest. The latter of the four was the least in number, mainly due to Domain Yin's supreme dislike of the particular caste.* *The Intendants did not have the power to squash the caste completely, but their influence was such as to allow for only a small number of the religion spewers to be present among the current operation.* *Of course there were slaves as well, mostly Chazrachs spaced by intermittent groups of human and killik thralls. The yorik-kul that coated their bodies was nearly all consuming, wrapping their once mere mortal frames in layers of bony growths. They had been made deadlier, though more controllable thanks to the efforts of the slave seed and Yammosk overseers.*

*Supplies were off loaded until each transport was vacated in its entirety. Only then were Yuuzhan Vong loaded upon it. Not the ones who had arrived and disembarked however, but rather, the more docile members of their race that had called Zonoma Sekot home.* *They were to be taken back to Tur Yenagh and instructed in the true path. If they did not, likely they would end up as slaves among the shamed, or would merely be given up for sacrifice to the bloody God of War, Yun-Yammka. Either way they would be given a chance to prove themselves worthy in the eyes of the Yun'o. It was a generous allowance to say the least.* *Warriors from Domains Lah and Choka stood by, forcing the more resistant would-be travellers onto the organic crafts. Some had to be dragged kicking and screaming, others were quickly rendered docile by the lash of an amphistaff, or knocked out completely with a quick blow to the head. The more intelligent of the group simply complied, seeing no alternative to the path laid out for them by the Praetorite.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*With the more regular transfer of personnel and inhabitants to and from Tur Yenagh, the Praetorite enclave on the planet was in a position to begin setting up defenses. Shapers from Domains Yim and Kwaad arrived with their personal retinue of slaves and workers, specifically devoted to the task of growing lava cones and developing a dovin basal defense grid for the Magister's Palace and the area immediately surrounding. Shareed met with the Master Shaper in charge, Diazen Kwaad, who seemed eager to begin her work. Although the exchange between the two was brief, the Intendant of Domain Yin had learned quite a bit about his fellow Yuuzhan Vong.*

*Like him, Diazen was a devout believer of the Yun'o. In fact, the worship and praise of Yun-Ne'Shel was the central focus of her life. If not for being born within the shaper caste, it was entirely likely that she would have ended up being a priest of the Yun-Harla's handmaiden. Fate of birth aside, she was also one of the best bio-engineers the Praetorite had available and was known throughout Tur Yenagh for her ability to speed the growth rate of Yuuzhan Vong bio-tech. She was a natural choice for the project.*

*However, she lacked the ambitious drive that had placed Shareed in the command position her currently held over Zonoma Sekot. Perhaps it had something to do with the very different methods each Domain used for raising its progeny, with the Intendant born desiring more simply through their common practice of deceit. Whatever the reason, it weighed events heavily in Shareed's favor. This was not a rival he would need to be concerned about, but rather, an asset to be exploited to its full potential.*

*Seeds were planted on the East, West, and North sides of the slope upon which the Palace structure sat. With the regular ingestion of proper minerals and organic bio-matter the lava cones would be operational within a few months time. The purpose of the slaves, besides dragging minerals and other essential items to and from the transports, was to see to the regulation of the living surface-to-space weapons inner systems. Shaping and nurturing those systems obviously required the more talented and worthy hands of the Shapers, but they would no longer be needed once the structures were up and running.* *From that point forwards the living facilities could be handed over to the warrior caste domains in charge of the seed world's defense.* *Elsewhere, beneath the Palace structure that sat upon layers and layers of rock, slaves worked tirelessly alongside Chom-Vrone, clearing out a chamber beneath the Palace in which to construct the Damutek that would hold the massive dovin basal destined to serve as the facilities defense shield. Several smaller dovin basals would be spread throughout the tunnels formed underground, extended the gravity altering reach of the organic defense system.*

*Within a few weeks several Yammosks were scheduled to arrive. When that happened, they would be given access to the dovin basal system which would further extend their near-telepathic abilities beyond the borders of their spawning pits.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*It had taken a year's worth of effort to complete the project, considerably slow given the resources devoted to its development. Regardless, three lava cones now protruded from the surface surrounding the Magister's Palace, like giant yaret-kor risen towards the heavens. Buried beneath the surface of the facility were a number of dovin basals, each grown to immense proportions. Even from his perch atop the battlements, Shareed could feel the silent pull of the war coordinators held within these guarded grounds. The dovin basals served as more than simple void shields, they also possessed the ability to enhance the Yammosks' reach across all corners of the continent. Warriors brought over from Tur Yenagh marched many kilometers away, expertly maneuvered through the telepathic link.*

*With Diazen Kwaad's work now completed, Shareed had the master shaper executed. Her shrieks could be heard all across the palace as a pack of hungry bissop tore her limb from limb. The Intendant witnessed the scene with only mild interest.* *His thoughts had already turned to the next task at hand. His rise to power.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*Zalor Anneri's Naboo Starfighter, the Corellian YT-2000 'Otana', and the three Jedi Shadows Delta-7 fighters slowly began to descend to an opening right by the Magister's Palace, having been pulled down to it by the strange tractor beam that emitted from the planet's surface nearby.

Next to them, the injured Mobquet Medium Transport known as the 'Farlan Flyer', also began its slow descent near the palace.*

=Sayra=
*All of the pilots stared in wonder at the exotic beauty of the mountain on which the strange Palace stood.* ::Wow...we're actually on Zonama Sekot, home of the Yuuzhan Vong. I didn't expect it to be so...beautiful. And I never thought I'd actually get to meet a real Yuuzhan Vong, either.::
=Zalor=
::Meet one? We're on their homeworld, Sayra...we're about to meet a whole lot of them.::
=Jasso=
*The young Nautolan Jedi Shadow chuckled as he watched them all descend to the palace...*::Looks like we shudda brushed up on our Yuuzhan Vong studies befoar we agreed to go on dis mission, ya Oni?::
=Oni-Li=
::Jasso, I think we're about to get something better than lessons at the Enclave on the Yuuzhan Vong, buddy. We're about to take a crash course in all things Vong right here on their home planet. I prefer learning hands-on, anyway.::
=Sayra=
*Sayra rolled her eyes as she chuckled...* ::Yeah, we know, Oni-Li. We know.::

*Finally, all of the ships, including the massive freighter, softly touched down on the ground.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*At the bottom of the Palace where the high yorik-coral walls met with the mountain top, a wide fleshly section of the structure began to ripple and peel back to either side, revealing the massive organic arches of a hatch-sphincter. The living doorway split apart, folds of green and grey flesh retracting up into the damutek structure, opening a breach from the living building's interior out into the vast mountainous planes that stretched out around it. The sounds of galloping feet could be heard as the Prefect and his courtly entourage emerged from the entrance, riding atop beastly mounts beneath the shadows cast by the yorik-coral spires of the palace.*

*At the center of the group was a large six legged reptilian creature known as a , gentle by nature but intimidating in both sheer size and the way it made the ground shake beneath its heavy hooves. Atop its back was Shareed Yin, a lean figure of a Yuuzhan Vong, garbed in a shimmering gown of glistaweb that caught the rays of the current system's star and refracted it in seemingly all directions at once. The tight skeletal features of the Prefect's exposed face were focused forwards as he looked towards the landing vessels in the distance.*

*On either side of Shareed were six Yuuzhan Vong from Domain Lah, each clad in a glistening layer of vonduun skerr kyrric, the black chitinous crab plate of the warrior caste that made even Mandalorian forged beskar seem pitiful by comparison. They rode on the backs of galloping , horse sized reptilian canines fitted with more teeth and claws than an orgy of rancors. They kept a steady pace with the slower but larger mount of the Prefect, serving as his honour guard as the group approached the newcomers.*

*The group slowed as it neared the inorganic vessels, eventually coming to a complete halt about a dozen feet from the hull of the Otana. Shareed looked from one ship to the next, uncertain which held the person he had spoken with over the electronic communications channel. As the outsiders began to exit their ships, he addressed the first that he saw, asking the all too obvious question.*

"Welcome, outsiders. Which of you leads this group?"

*He leaned forwards on the back of the Quednak, eying the crowd with his two glowing blue mqaaq'it.*

Re: The Magister's Palace

*Several crew members of the large Mobquet, the Farlan Flyer, were among the first to disembark. They, however, didn't greet the Yuuzhan Vong, but instead, went straight to work on assessing damage and locating the alleged Red Fang tracking beam attached to the hull of their ship.

Zalor Anneri and his companions, however, met in front of the Otana. Zalor, Sayra, Oni-Li and Jasso waited until the landing ramp to the Otana lowered, and Evan Azzameen, Asha, HK-41, the combat droid that accompanied them, and Freyyr the Wookiee, Zalor's Wookiee life-debt companion, stepped down the ramp and joined them. R2-D4, Zalor's Astromech droid, also joined them as he detached himself from the astro hatch of Zalor's N-1.

Now that the group of adventurers had stepped out of their ships, the Yuuzhan Vong could get a better look at the strange array of outsiders:*

Zalor Anneri was a human that stood roughly the second shortest amongst the group. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, and a kind face that showed a warmth and approachability that was rare in most humans. He had a slim figure, and was easily amongst the smallest of the group, overall. He wore his trademark white Jedi Shadows robe with green outlines, black pants and black boots.
Sayra Nur, Zalor's girlfriend, stood a little higher than he did. She was a very attractive Echani girl, with silver hair and eyes, and a slim yet slightly athletic figure. She wore royal-blue outer robes over top of her low-cut light blue shirt, with tight black pants and shoes that matched Zalor's.
Amongst the taller and more intimidating figures was the hot-shot freighter pilot, Evan Azzameen. He had messy brown hair and brown eyes, and was slightly taller than Sayra, with a more muscular build. He wore a brown leather flight jacket over a plain white shirt, with matching brown leather pants and boots.
The shortest of the group, next to Zalor's astro droid, was Asha Tailarani, a teenage Twi'lek girl with green skin and eyes. She wore a casual red tee-shirt under a bright orange vest, and wore khaki cloth shorts and sneakers.
Freyyr the Wookiee was probably the tallest and most intimidating figure of the group. He had light tan colored fur, wore an ancient Wookiee sword across his belt and a Bowcaster on his back. He towered over the group. He stood next to the bronze-orange colored HK-41 unit, Sayra's personal droid and bodyguard.
The last two characters, the brown haired human Oni-Li, and the Nautolan Jasso, stood in the back of the group. They wore matching Jedi Shadows robes, designed to be loose fitting for mobility in combat, navy blue and forest green, respectively.

*The eight of them together, combined with R2-D4, the astromech, made for a strange sight, but they all stood together in front of the Otana and began talking amongst themselves like they were close friends that had known each other for a long time - as they waited for the Yuuzhan Vong diplomats to greet them...*

[action:e8o2ar1o]Sayra turned to the two younger Jedi Shadows, Oni-Li and Jasso, then softly began to bark orders at them, as she was used to doing with her inferiors...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "Okay, you guys...we're their guests, so we all need to be on our best behavior. No screwing around, that especially goes for the two of you. Got it?"[/color:e8o2ar1o]
=Oni-Li=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]The smug Oni-Li, renowned amongst the Shadows at the Enclave for being a prankster and a clown, winked and smiled at Sayra, then replied...mimicking their Yoda-kin Grandmaster Vilor...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "Screwing around, there shall not be."[/color:e8o2ar1o]
=Sayra=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]Sayra, obviously unimpressed with Oni-Li's impression of Master Vilor, frowned at the younger Jedi Shadow...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "I mean it, Oni! Keep a lid on it, please."[/color:e8o2ar1o]
=Jasso=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]Jasso, the Nautolan, elbowed his best friend in the arm...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "You heard her, mon. Keep your cool, yah?"[/color:e8o2ar1o]

[action:e8o2ar1o]The group finally turned around to face the entourage of Yuuzhan Vong leaders as they began to approach them...[/action:e8o2ar1o]
=Sayra=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]In a hushed voice, Sayra barked another command to the group...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "Alright, these guys must be the diplomats. Let's let Zalor do the talking for now."[/color:e8o2ar1o]
=Zalor=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]Zalor, who didn't always like to be the group's leader but realized that he was the best at diplomacy, shifted uncomfortably at Sayra's suggestion...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "Uh...thanks, I guess."[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]The group slowed as it neared the inorganic vessels, eventually coming to a complete halt about a dozen feet from the hull of the Otana. Shareed looked from one ship to the next, uncertain which held the person he had spoken with over the electronic communications channel. As the outsiders began to exit their ships, he addressed the first that he saw, asking the all too obvious question.[/action:e8o2ar1o]

[i:e8o2ar1o]"Welcome, outsiders. Which of you leads this group?"[/color:e8o2ar1o][/i:e8o2ar1o]

[action:e8o2ar1o]He leaned forwards on the back of the Quednak, eying the crowd with his two glowing blue mqaaq'it.[/action:e8o2ar1o][/quote:e8o2ar1o]

[action:e8o2ar1o]Sayra, Evan, Asha and the two Padawans all simultaneously pointed at Zalor.[/action:e8o2ar1o]
=Zalor=[/color:e8o2ar1o]
[action:e8o2ar1o]Zalor realized it was his cue to introduce them. He cleared his throat and stepped forward...[/action:e8o2ar1o] "That would be me, Your Excellency. I am Zalor Anneri, of the Jedi Shadows. On behalf of all of us, I'd like to thank you for your kind hospitality, and I apologize again for the intrusion...I assure you, this was not our group's intended destination."[/color:e8o2ar1o]
