*Thrawn bowed his head once more.*

Then I shall order her captain there as soon as possible. Until we meet again.

*Thrawn then did a full waste bow and turned on his heel. As he began to walk towards his Clawcraft, his two personal Noghri formed up silently behind him and followed him. They each got into their respected ships and headed for orbit.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

*As the Yorik-Vec flew over the planets terrain, Kirsh spotted something unusual through the ships eyes. Since he was connected to it with the cognition hood, he could see what the ship saw. Out in the distance stood a structure that looked like an outstretched hand. It was a strange sight, unusual architecture for any species. Though Kirsh never claimed to be an expert on the architecture of various species throughout the galaxy.*

*He took the freighter sized vessel in, piloting it down through the clouds and towards the structure. The bio-engineered ship came to a halt as it set down on a landing pad on one of the towers roofs. The back hatch unsealed and the Intendant made his way out of the ship and onto the roof.*

Kirsh: "Something about this is familiar. I can't quite place what that is though. In time it should come to me. For now I shall explore."

*He uncoiled his Amphistaff and manipulated its length with his hands. The serpent hardened into a straight staff shape. Kirsh held it like a walking stick and tapped it once on the duracrete roof. He then began to make his way into the facility.*

*After gathering all the data he could find, Kirsh returned to his ship and departed for the cold void of space. The Yorik-Vec and Intendant were gone from the planet shortly after.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

*3 Namana-class light cruisers descend out of orbit. Silently, they cruise towards the hand of thrawn. Landing in a clearing a kilometer from the fortress, they unload there cargo of 450 commando troopers. The namanas then take off again, and fly toward the fortress. Flying forward in a delta formation, they unleash a volley from there turbo laser against the fortress...doing absolutely nothing. Under the cover of the cannon fire. The troops move forward...moving into the cave systems underneath the fortress...for some mysterious reason...the fortresses guards where oddly unalert...moving into what the troopers hoped where rough approximations, they placed frame charges at the thinnest points in the caves roof...silently then...they waited...*

OOC: This is cass's last chance. If he does not reply by this time tomorrow, I am assuming he has totally abandoned this planet. And will start RPing the full out invasion of said planet.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

OOC: Resuming RP.*

*With a signal, the roof is blasted, and the troops swarm into the facility. Quickly, fighting breaks out and as well as minor skirmishes. Surprisingly though, the entire base was stocked with only support personnel and only a few security guards...the base is taken effortlessly, with only a dozen or so soldiers being killed. Quickly, all of The hand of thrawn, as well as BlasTechs base of operations are taken over. The plans for BlasTechs weapons are also copied down, and sent into orbit, so that the fleet can store them for later use. The troops, taking over the command base, instantly form up into defensive positions within the base.*

:: CP secure sir. ::

*And with that, it was over.

Power had been shifted.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

*The bakura destroyers in orbit set down, and unload there troops. In total, the following force occupies the base in full force:

Commando: 500 Commandos (Katarn-class commando armor, ICWS Rifles, 1 glop, 1 frag, and 1 flash.)
Elite: 1,900 Mandalorian Elite Crusaders (NeoCrusader armor, Madalorian Assault rifles, 3 frag grenades)
Standard: 50,000 NeoCrusaders (NeoCrusader armor, E-11 Blaster rifles, 3 frag grenades)

The commandos and elites take up stations to the entry of every door way in the upper levels, specifically the cloning facilities, the command center, and the manufacturing center. The NeoCrusaders busy themselves by reinforcing the floors so that they can't be blown through like last time, as well as spitcreting the caves systemds directly under the base up. They had EXPLICIT orders not to cement the whole system up. But just the cave systems directly underneath the base.

In the meantime however, a freefall-class bomber lands, and Daedalus exits...quickly, he enters the base, and enters the command center...*

"I want a full report on our status...as quick as you can. Also, how soon till we can get those factories up and running? And I want my ship refueled!"

*The troops scramble to fufill the orders, and Daedalus sits back to think.......so much to do......*

*Life goes on as usual on Nirauan, with everyone settling in for what would become a boredom induced coma.....meanwhile, the scientists in the hand of thrawn started on making a gift to The Colonel, the man that financed them, and gave them a home.

Taking several metals, they began research on what would be the best type of blade, and what would best suit the Colonels style, based on numerous training videos.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

*Work continues on the new blade...the shape of a basket hilt rapier being selected, with a blade of phrik and Ostrine being inset into a hilt of aurodium...truly, when completed, it will be a marvelous thing. Currently however, problems arise on the ratio of phrik to Ostrine, in order to make the blade fully resistant to lightsabers while maintaining the Ostrines integrity.*

*Work continues on the sword, but, upon receiving a signal from the forces above, the Hand of thrawn is instantly put into lock down, with Hijarna stone bulkheads closing, and preparing for attack. The following soldiers take up strategic points within the base, and, in total, numbered the following:

Commando: 500 Commandos (Katarn-class commando armor, ICWS Rifles, 1 glop, 1 frag, and 1 flash.)
Elite: 1,900 Mandalorian Elite Crusaders (NeoCrusader armor, Madalorian Assault rifles, 3 frag grenades)
Standard: 50,000 NeoCrusaders (NeoCrusader armor, E-11 Blaster rifles, 3 frag grenades)*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

*A full squadron of TIE Pterodactyls dropped through the clouds above the ancient fortress, and circled it several times, scanning the terrain on all sides for possible base camp and landing sites. Commander Por'waa Or'tahh distrusted the fortress itself as a landing destination until they'd had a chance to take a look around, and confirm that there were no hostile elements or wild beasts lurking side. After the third scan, a flat plateau about a tenth of a klick away was selected, and Infinite Squadron set down, a group of three fighters are each of the four compass points of the plateau. Nearby, a valley dropped away, and on the other side was the fortress just to the east. To the west, the plateau rose even higher in several mesas, carved from solid rock by millennia of wind-swept sand.**

[NPC]Dark Lady Moffinkins.

Nirauan

Matar, everything is running smoothly, the forces are working well, they have manoeuvres down to a fine art, they are patrolling regularly, I think their presence is a deterance as Local crime has dropped considerably.

For information purposes, I will be returning to bastion very soon, I seek an audience with you immediately.

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

[Along the rocky plateaus, near the Hand of Thrawn]

*Accelerating toward the ancient Chiss Admiral's fortress, Andre Walker and his team circled the structure twice from a distance, taking pictures of its current condition and forwarding them to Captain Vevut in orbit. Out of respect for King Benjamin's wishes, they did not enter the fortress. They would wait until after the sparring match and whatever words the King wished to have directly with their Aliit'alor. Instead, they proceeded to a flat table-top plateau near the Hand of Thrawn, and began setting up a small encampment.*

"Well done, Ambassador. Does the King know I've arrived?" *Plu asked, shaking the Ambassador's hand.*

"Good." *The old Mando warrior reached up and loosed his chinstrap, then hauled his helmet off and placed it on a camp table, revealing one of the galaxy's ugliest faces.* "I'm sure he saw my shuttle, but information always outweighs rumor." *Drawing his sword, around which heavy padding had been wrapped, Plu tested it yet again, swinging it several times, and feeling all the edges. Satisfied that it was a worthy tool but would inflict no permanent harm, he sheathed it once more, and nodded to Walker.* "Now we wait. I'm sure the King is a busy man."

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

[Along the rocky plateaus, near the Hand of Thrawn]

*Many hours after the Mandalorian delegation , they and their shuttle returned, engines humming rhythmically as they coasted gently from side to side, navigating the canyons and mesas and chasms with ease. Setting the Lambda-class down on the rocky surface alongside their encampment once more, they returned to complete the task for which they had initially come. The diplomatic sidetrip had had to be abandoned. Someone was attacking the local king, and communications disruptions had left the Aliit'alor and his staff momentarily stranded on the planet, at their own devices. It seemed like perfect cover for some fact-finding among the ruins.*

*Exiting the shuttle, with Andre Walker at his heels, Plu cast aside the safety padding which he had ripped from his sword during the flight. Then, he turned to his ceremonial guards (now once more armed with their usual stun pikes and side blasters, which had been left in the shuttle) and the shuttle crew, and motioned to the encampment.*

"Pack all that stuff up, and let's move it into the fortress. We may have an invasion force down here soon, and we need to be in a strong enough position to negotiate."

*The guardsmen and crew saluted, then moved off to quickly tear down the camp and pack it once more aboard the shuttle. Fifteen minutes later, they were airborne once more, skimming mere meters above the stony base of the near black fortress. As they rounded the second of the five towering spires, a great left in the side of the fortress came into view: the entrance to the main hangar.*

*Plu smiled jovially.* "What did you expect, a solid wall of stone with no entrances anywhere?"

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

[Hangar Bay.]

*As the shuttle settled down in the middle of the wide, flat lip of the Hand's main hangar bay, the replusorlifts kicked up a cloud of fine dust from the smooth black stone floor. Before them, a dark chasm opened into the depths of the ancient fortress. Faint shapes toward the back indicated the presence of the wreckage of several dozen assorted small craft. Wires and small conduit boxes around the entire entrance told the story of where ray shielding had once protected the bay. And on top of everything, a thick layer of dust, dirt, soot, and dried oil indicated that no one had been here for a very long time. Apparently the fortress was just as abandoned as it had appeared from the earlier Mandalorian aerial reconnaissance.*

*Loosening his hold on one of the passenger compartment's grab bars, Plu moved to peer through one of the viewports as he waited for the crew to report on the condition and safety assessment of the hangar.* "So this is it, at last." *The old warrior murmurred in an awed tone.* "The Hand of Thrawn, the center of his great empire. Amazing. If ever there was a man who understood the importance of the Unknown Regions ..." *His voice trailed off as a new voice echoed over the ship's com.*

*Plu's voice sounded slightly muffled in the passenger cabin from behind his helmet, as he used the built-in com to reply.* :: Excellent. Stand by for orders and emergency evac if needed. :: *He turned to the Ambassador, and the six red-clad guardsmen, who had retrieved their side arms and rifles and now looked a while lot less ceremonial.* "Andre, you stay here for now. Let's go!"

*And with that, he reached out, slapped the release, and the rear boarding ramp fell open.*

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

[Hangar Bay.]

*Plu and his six companions stepped carefully down onto the worn, dust-covered Hijarna stone tarmac of the cavernous hangar bay, and took several cautious steps out away from the shuttle, before they stopped to turn around.* *The Aliit'alor of the Or'dinii had long dreamed of visiting the historic and legendary fortress, and he could barely believe it was finally happening. But the seriousness of their situation and their ongoin standoff with the Chiss meant that he had to keep his focus.* *Scanning the area closely with his own eyes now, he waited as his pupils adjusted to the relative darkness of the hangar's depths, then traced the walls of the hangar.*

*The entire hangar was a big rectangle, with three uniform walls, one rising at each end of the hangar, and the third rising before them, at least a hundred meters deeper into the structure. Plu marveled that there were no interior columns visible within the hangar -- clearly the fortress had been built by ancient masters of architecture. Off to the left, in the end wall, two-thirds of the way to the back, was a man-sized door, and a larger cargo bay, side by side. Both appeared to be closed and sealed, but how tight would the security be? There was no other entrance visible (although almost half the back wall was obscured by the wreckage of starcraft of some alien design, with distinct Imperial influences, and there probably was another door somewhere).*

*Plu shrugged his shoulders slightly, and started forward.* "Let's go have a look at the door."

Re: The Hand of Thrawn

[Hangar Bay.]

*Moments later, the seven Mandalorians stood in a half-semicircle before the man-sized door and it's larger cargo cousin. Both doors were edged with a plain black metallic frame that stuck out several inches, and had gracefully rounded corners at the top, and the doors themselves were painted a glossy black as well, with no markings or features visible. Unlike the floor of the hangar, no dust had stuck to the smooth finish of the doors. There was no control panel visible anywhere.*

*Stepping forward, one of the guardsmen gently touched the very center of the people door with the butt of his rifle, then tapped on it several times.* *The door sounded heavy and ominous, but there was also a hollow tone that indicated that it was not very thick. Plu considered simply attempting to cut through the door with a torch or maybe a lightsaber, but they didn't want to make a mess. It would be better to take their time and learn what they could about the ancient technology here.*

"Stevens." *The Aliit'alor said, indicating the squad's scanner tech.* "Can you get a scan of the door, the frame, and the walls for a good five feet on either side? Let's see if there's a control system embedded in the walls or something." *Or maybe on the other (inside) side of the wall, for that matter, which would be awkward unless they could get one of their people inside to open the doors from within.*
