*Jace felt a tinge of satisfaction as he scored a hit on the trooper, right on the edge of where his armor cut off to allow unhindered shoulder movement. Hopefully the burn would be deep enough to damage the the essential nerves and muscles of his shoulder socket, limiting his usage of that arm. That should leave a nice mark to remember him by, if he somehow survived the encounter.*
*With the second shot grazing the jet-black helmet, he knew what adjustments he would make to strike a crippling blow to the exposed jugular and throat. He let the Force guide him, adjusting his aim to a fine detail before pulling back on the trigger for what he believed would be the last time. The familiar snap-hiss and thrum of a lightsaber filled his ears, and his eyes traced the blade that sprung out of the misty air before the soldier as it came up to meet the concentrated burst of energy coming from the carbine. The shot met the blade, cutting back and slamming into the log in front of him. Jace could hear someone on the comm, but the only sound he could hear was the constant hiss of rain evaporating on a lightsaber. For now he knew he was in trouble.*
*As the elite charged him and accompanied the fearsome sight with a battle cry, Jace's mind was running a mile a minute. He saw what the elite was wearing, how long it would take for him to close the distance, his weapons and the weaknesses that went along with them. Everything that was on his body crossed his mind, and only one option presented itself. The Verpine pistol on his thigh, combined with his knowledge and skill with it would prove to be his salvation. He would drop the A280 Carbine and pull forth a weapon he had become very skilled with, one that he could handle better than a lightsaber at this point. While it's payload may not be relatively as fast as a blaster, it was smaller, generated less energy, harder to see and therefore much more difficult to predict and block. With this he would target the exposed joints and drop the behemoth before he could get past the log. Once incapacitated he would either leave him as a prisoner or execute him, depending on how dire the situation around them had become.*
*But just as he was about to initiate his action, a prick in the Force told him other wise. He didn't know why, but it felt as though he should... wait. Hold on to his carbine. While every instinct in his body told him to ignore it, and normally he would continue his action in this particular scenario, he gripped his carbine and paused for a mere moment. And he was rewarded with the sight of a figure slamming down on top of the soldier, dropping them both to the ground. The white figure stood and turned, but not before Jace saw his face. The face of a companion he had not seen in some time.
With his situational awareness kicking in, Jace stepped forward and stationed himself behind the cover of the log once again. If the white clad figure of Zalor was going to face off against the black clad elite, then he was going to need cover from the one flank of enemies that were still fighting. Bringing his carbine to bear over the log, he fired off a few rounds into the cover of the last remaining flank. In between a burst, he glanced over at Zalor to make sure he was fairing well against his foe.* "About time you showed up to your own party! What kept you?" *He said this with a grin before ducking behind the log, placing the weapon against his chest as he reloaded it with one hand and activated his comm with the other. With the amount of superheated bolts in the air flying in both directions, he assumed he had enough time for reload.* :: Jace to Asha, confirmed that we have everybody aboard. *He said the next part in general, directed more to everybody fighting* We need to smoke these tangos and get out of here. *He brought his words back to her* Can we get a safe route back to the Enclave? :: *He released the transmission button as he came up once again, filling in the wait for a response with a salvo of rounds sent towards their remaining foes.*
