Re: The Northern Hemisphere

*The Dark Tide was gone. The Republic had tried to step in, but they to were gone. All that was left was major corporations and the people who tried to keep the planet from falling into disarray. Even they had faltered and the Mysterious Man unknown to the general public had taken control of the world. The time for change was now. The Sons of the Empire a radical group on the planet wanted the Empire to come back and save them. Few were left who remembered the days of the Empire before the New Republic, and others had taken over, but many people where those who had heard the stories from their parents who remembered the good days.

The Sons of the Empire as such were tenacious and organized in the unorganized sort of way. Although they number in the millions not a single person knew more than a handful of others and no one knew the leader. Messages were spread by way of mouth, hidden codes in speeches or just doing it. From the lowest beggar to the highest politicians they were everywhere. Including the largest mining corporation who held a multi billion credit business on the planet, they had created a virtual closed economy where their workers lived on site on a mega city and everything that they needed was there. Inflation was rampant and as the prices went up the wages stayed the same, as part of the master plan to get the empire back.

Finally the workers had, had enough and went on strike whole families went out to the streets of the city with signs and protesting. But with all things that start out peaceful violence started. One man stood up on a hover bus and threw a Molitov towards the local police enforcement spreading the licking flames everywhere. Everything went down hill from there.

It was now the early morning and although the city had been quarantined violence was rampant, at some point the miners had gained access to both the power hammers and mining lasers. Men and women who were covered in blood , grim eand filth patrolled the streets looking for anyone who opposed them, they were done with the corporations. They wanted to be a member of the mining guild which had prospered under the reign of the Empire. Turning a corner the heads of the riot saw what they were looking for, the section of the city still held by pro Republicans and the law enforcement. Lasers where being shot at the hastily erected barricades but against the heavy metal, they were for not.

Strolling up to it they swung full force at the twisted metal, cars and everything thousands of hammers sent the barricade falling or flying. They rushed into the group hammers held high and into the tear gas and other non lethal weapons weapons hundreds dropped from plastic bullets writhing in pain.

The mob though could not be stopped and despite the small whole the onrushing crowd was just to large to be held back the first man to reach the lines of the beleagured defenders swung and sent the man; now dead into a building. Dropping into the crowd they were lost in the ensuing melee.

The miners used their strentgh and numbers to their advantage, fanning out they attacked not only people but buildings. Destroying the foundations of the buildings they were systematically destroyed either collapsing inwards or toppling over onto other buildings to destroy more. Dust filled the streets, fires raged everywhere and nothing could be done to stop the anger being vented. Block by precious block was taken until at last the largest building was all the defenders had left.

Holding their places they allowed the men and women who still tried in vain to defend their overlords to see the truth. They had lost. Not long after they just walked away, either joining the crowd or going home to their loved ones. One man walked forward hammer raised high and shouted for all to hear.*
This is but the first step! *He then charged forward followed by everyone else and destroyed the corporate building with everyone still inside.*
