OOC RP Planning and Dispute Resolution

Hey, I know I am just the hired hand at this, but can someone actually link me to the part where it said the Jedi Temple had a shield around it?
I believe you, but If I can't know that it has one easily because someone didn't post they had a shield around it in a list of defenses easily accessible and viewable and findable, at the very least telling people about the shield that is in broad daylight covering the temple, then How is my character supposed to see the giant blue shaded shield covering the Jedi temple?

The First post made by Me states that it was activated.. there after everyone outside of the temple makes a mention towards it.

You should make a new topic or something specifically mentioning the updated Jedi Temple defenses, or at least the shield. Turrets and secret defenses I can understand keeping secret, but a giant shield?
Please fix it so no one else gets screwed.

Next. Shields go up when Hover Trucks are presumably going out of control towards the Jedi temple and droids are hanging out screaming for dear synthetic life?
Do the shields go up for sentients or animals that fall from the sky? Or try to land on the Temple for est from their flight?
Also, where were the Jedi to help? MY droids were screaming for dear life. Jedi help out everyone, especialy the owners of the delivery service and his property. :)
Also, It takes at least a few seconds for the shields to power up and activate. They also don't just appear, they have to spread over the surface of the temple, especially with the larger shields that have to cover a larger space. The hover trucks could have made it under them before they touched the ground, especially considering the size of the temple.

Lastly, common guys. It's all not real.(I know I don't have to tell you guys this so please forgive the insult!) It's a fake virtual parallel star wars universe. And its a Jedi temple which I'm sure you have plenty of funds to rebuild and plenty of 'red shirts' to have die in the explosions. Common, at least let one truck through. Pleassseeeee? ;)

Lets overlook the shield detail just this once until it can be properly posted as a defense and have some drama and gut wrenching pain and agony and desire for revenge and justice and do some character building and hunting for these terrorists! Otherwise we will only have a plain universe where everyone sits in their invulnerable Jedi temples(So to speak) and do nothing, twittering their thumbs away, having tea parties and giving hugs(I've been on those sites before! YUCK! can I get an amen?)

First its a droid, with no human life froms on board. No one is going to be rushing to help. Second, all the Jedi would be inside, its not like they could rush out and stop the vehicle. No matter what, the truck is kriff, the only question is how much damage will it do.

If a car is driving and loses control and heads straight for a military guard tower, you bet your choobies the guard tower is going to open fire hoping to destroy a tire or something. The car (truck) is screwed, the only issue is how kriff up the temple is.

What? You mean birds? Can you detect birds on radar? Does the US Military shoot down birds when they go over the no fly zones in DC?

Inside the temple... not much good they can do from in there. 2nd They are droids, not sentients, there is no loss.


Your point about the shield is accurate however it also takes several seconds for the ship to break off from the traffic lanes and go for a collsion course on the temple. However if 1 did it the guy in charge may hold off on a few seconds watching to see what happens and activate too late. 7 however... ya that guy will press it the second he sees that. There is a reason why people transmit landing clearance etc...



Finally people grow attach to their characters or people under their command. I have only had "red shirts" under my command once and that was because they needed to die to move the story. (15,000 red shirts actually) We dont want to see a bunch of Jedi die anymore then we want to see a bunch of Rebels get killed in the movies/books (ie. if you support the Rebels). Remember I have the ability to void this whole thing sense me nor any of the people in the Jedi Temple want to be in this RP.


Oh, for your final paragraph, yes it may seem boring, I agree sometimes it gets boring, however we find things to do. Notice the original reply to your post was a simple "Sithspit happens, repairs occur." Some people prefer closed or preplanned RPs, I currently am in one now. This is why the traffic lights were made, If I could make planets a traffic color both me and San agreed that we want Coruscant to avoid major RPs like this, in other words an orange or yellow.

For one; It's called a [i:sd0t0a2j]Metaphor[/i:sd0t0a2j]. He was comparing Your truck attack to a Real life event.. now sit down and shut up if you know whats good for you.

Secondly; Throwing out ideas? Corbec was only doing the same. He was trying to make you see it how he sees this whole ordeal to reach that place in between the two extremes called Compromise. Without that might as well get off your computer now and go play a Video game, where you know that you can win against the simple algorithms that don't bite back if you bite first.

Yes it's a Free, Cannon, location.. however people can still own it. And being the Governor of Coruscant.. by extension Corbec owns the Jedi Temple since it's on his and San's planet. People can RP there.. sure, however if you think about attacking it.. you have to expect that someone is going to take offense to it, someone with their own surprises is going to attack back trying to stop you..

And simply the shield did it for us..

You may say.." Oh I didn't see the post where the shields were raised." Well because you didn't even check, I know many RP'ers don't bother to, to make the defenders lives difficult. But when he tell them and show them that it is not possible for that attack to happen because of the defenses being active from the last attack.. they chew our heads off because they enter a childish fit using SW curses to make themselves seem slightly more intelligent then they are.

But since you asked us to take it up with your Employer then that's what we will do.

Seriously, Markus, chill dude. Language like that is uncalled for OOC as Corbec and Arcanus were just trying to voice their points of view which happened to be against yours. You have to respect that as they have respected yours and explained why you may or may not be wrong about it. And remember, if you can't keep it civil, turn off your monitor or go to a different site of a while to cool down before coming back so you can be objective and kind to your fellow RPers.

Secondly, Baradium doesnt need to be armed. It is a labile material, just like nitro glycerine was before Alfred Nobel came around. a crash like that WOULD set of at least one of the trucks. That is what I am saying. Check Baradium on wookie. I would give you a link, if it worked on this god damned Pentium II supercomputer.

We have worked a lot on this RP, and that is why I ask for at least one truck exploding at the temple, killing 50-100 or 150 peeps Dont care if inside the temple or outside, just walking on the lovely park, so I can feel how evil I am, so Marcus can have bad dreams and feel dirty for his deeds, and so the jedi who cares can start a war on terror.

I mean... cooperation and geting along is about giving and taking right? You want to take all the trucks to become nothing but harmless rubble... all I beg for is one to blow at least, killing some bystanders, giving some high view rates for the holonews networks...

Sounds like a good solution to this?

Yeah.......there's no way he knows what's going on. Clear example of using ooc knowledge, while IC. Amira could be there for a large number of reasons, and he should be more inclined to view her as a thief than assassin because that's all he's seen from her.

for the most part. I'm letting everything up until midnight last night, slide. But if there is anymore occurrences of a similar nature, then the issue will be renewed.

I have two request, 1) please be using a silencer 2) If you engage security you are allowed to RP the response for security teams going to check up on the problems however I request you keep the neutral (my security guards) and innocent (civis) casulties to a bare minimum or none at all (use stun)

I try to make sure that my posts are well balanced and that, as a long-term writer who has been RP'ing in JvS since the beginning days of 1.0, I always try and write my scenes as thoroughly as possible. I'm a writer in my spare time so I try and make sure that my posts could be as easily read and comprehended as an excerpt from a chapter of a novel.

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't stepping on any toes by "claiming ownership" of a small apartment in such a well known building by really making sure that the back story of ownership was written out clearly in my post.

As for my interaction with the NPCs and the thoughts about the NPC Staff.....I can't write very many posts that I alone feature in without bringing up some sort of NPC. If I don't I think that the post lacks depth and isn't realistic. I mean c'mon, it's 500 Republica, if I really want to realistically post what I did I had to include NPCs because there would be no way a place like that WOULDN'T have a fully functioning Security team and support Staff.

Anyways.....Thanks for the compliments about my post. A writer always likes to be occasionally reminded that their work was notable, in a good way of course.

This thing has so many rooms, I would be more then willing to accept that any high ranking Jedi, Mandalorian, and a few Sith (from the Ronove Order) could say they have a room here.


This goes to everyone in the future. If you think you have the power OR money to own one of these things then feel free to RP owning one. Dont ask me how much is cost because this is not a business, I would have no idea, just realize that if you dont have the political power (ie. Jedi Master, 'Friendly' Sith Master of the Ronove Order, Friendly Mando leader) then you would need a LOT of money to own one of these things
