Re: Open Terrain

Valera watched uneasily as he approached her and then knelt down, but as he did she saw his hand reach out, and as he did he eyed the water bottle which she quickly took, opened and began drinking. As unlady-like as it was, Valera quickly gulped down the water and then after she had finished drinking it, her breath hitched slightly, she handed the bottle back to him and gave him a smirk, her way of thanking him... seeing as he didn't seem to be much of a talker, then again, she knew like most Echani's, he most likely wouldn't be.

Valera sat up, her hands holding the blanket to her body as she got up and walked over to the spot where she had first phased into her natural state. She looked around the area, in attempts to find her satchel that she had been carrying, as well as any other personal items, the one in particular was her mothers sword, Tsuyabe and what lay in the satchel, being a spare set of her clothing. Minutes would pass, groans would be heard as she would push through her bodies extreme physical exertion, but she would find the items, completely unharmed like usual... with the exception of her previous set of clothes. Valera would then look towards the man and walk back towards the ship, and go around towards the back so that she could change in peace.

Minutes would pass and Valera would come back out from behind the ship fully clothed now and would sit back down in front of the fire. What she wore was not anything elegant by any means, but it was how she wore it and carried herself that made her into the beautiful woman that she was. She had on a black long-sleeved shirt, and a four layered, white silk skirt ( which, underneath she did have leggings on in the event she needed to fight or run ) and a simple pair of bamboo sandals. Her legs were crossed, and she stared at the fire as she the grabbed the article of clothing that covered her from before, belonging to him and covered herself back up and then met with his eyes once again. Her lips would part once agian, her voice now ringing majestically through the air.

Re: Open Terrain

*When Valera finally took the water from Rhayth he simply got up and walked away from her and sat back down where he had been. He wasn't troubled by the girl being able to shift into a huge man eating wolf or anything and it showed by how calmly he was acting around her. Also even though as she may think her just grabbing the bottle and just gulping down the water was un lady-like it seemed perfectly normal to him. Still he was willing to leave her alone until she seemed like she wanted to talk but he had seen the troubled look on her face and knew she probably just needed some space at the moment.

He had confirmed something else was troubling her when she finished drinking the water and got and headed back to where she had transformed. She started to walk around that area as if she was looking for something probably something she had dropped when she had transformed. Eventually she had picked up a satchel and a sword and then walked around behind his ship and Rhayth still didn't bother her. He started to poke at the fire with a stick to move the wood around allowing to burn more evenly as he waited for the girl to finish whatever she was doing.

Minutes later she came back out from behind the ship fully clothed again and came back and sat down near the fire. At first she seemed to just stare at the fire and so Rhayth just continued to poke at it until he was satisfied with his work. As he finished and looked back at the girl he saw her looking at him again and finally she began to speak again. What she said got a little chuckle out of Rhayth since yes he had been pretty quiet since they had met and so her little joke did make sense. So setting down the stick he had been using to poke at the fire Rhayth relaxed and looked back towards the girl.*

My name is Rhayth and it is a pleasure to meet you also there is no need to thank me for anything I was simply doing what was right.

Rhayth... an interesting name for an interesting man. Quiet, stoic and to himself she thought, the makings of a warrior. She smirked, she was thankful for once for company and for fate having her have had crossed paths for the two. After he had finished his brief sentence she frowned slightly and thought about what to discuss, but nothing came to mind besides her next remark and only remark that came to mind.

"So... I'm sorry about the 'surprise' from earlier... I honestly wound not have had done that in front of... a stranger, er, you if I had not thought to be another way... but I didn't want to see you hurt."

"See him hurt? Smart one Idiot!"... Valera quietly thought to herself. It was more than apparent that social graces was something that Valera lacked, and for anyone such as Rhayth, a Warrior, she knew that he'd understand as it was better to be silent and observe than to speak like a fool. Valera shifted her legs slightly her gaze fell to the fire and then she leaned her hands back slightly and stared at the moon, her features delicately showing in the moonlight and as she looked up, she spoke, her voice somewhat sullen.

"I can already tell by the way you fought Echani, that I know you, and have some insight as to the type of man you are... but what questions linger in those quiet eyes do you have about me? Surely... you must have realized by now just what exactly those men were, but the bigger question lie is what am I?"

Her eyes never once left the sight of the moon, a longing look within them as she talked.

Re: Open Terrain

*Hans knelt down and raised his rifle, an old 6-2Aug2 slugthrower that had been owned by his father. He only ever used the rifle for hunting, a tradition that Hans had taken up as a way to keep his skills sharp. Unlike blaster bolts, slugs had a trajectory and were generally considered much more difficult to aim and land a shot. It was a self imposed challenge, and it helped to ensure that he didn't get rusty. Blaster weapons were just point and shoot, but slugthrowers required real skill to use.

He had spotted his target and took aim, staring down the length of the barrel at the iriaz. The seconds ticked by, as his target was unaware of the human stalking it.

BANG.

The shot rang out across the plains, and the iriaz slumped to the ground, blood trickling out from where the slug had impacted it on it's head. Smirking triumphantly, Hans stood up and quickly made his way over to the corpse. The shot had been right on the money.

Minutes later, the iriaz had been loaded onto the back of his speeder and Hans was on his way back home.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Hans slowed down as he approached his family's estate, but he didn't drive for the main complex, instead turning his speeder towards the small dwelling a little ways down the path that he called his home. He preferred to live a little ways from the estate, if only to avoid confrontation with his oldest brother, Olgar. For some reason, Hans and his brother Olgar did not get along...

Hans stopped the speeder in front of his house and got out, while two droids took care of the iriaz corpse. It would likely end up as food for the family, and that way no one could ever say that Hans didn't do his share to help feed his nieces and nephews. Which reminded him, he had promised his youngest niece, Sophia that he would show her how to hunt soon.

The former soldier entered his home and set his rifle in the doorway, reminding himself that he needed to clean the weapon before taking it out again. In a display case in the main living area, was the E17-d sniper rifle that had been his weapon of choice during his career as a marine. He never used it for hunting, well, not for hunting animals anyway. Its most recent use had been when he had helped a buddy of his mount a rescue. That had been his most recent job, and it was close to eight months ago.

He would need to find some kind of paying work soon, if only so he could get Olgar off his back.*

Rikard Estate

*After having set down in Garang Spaceport and rented an M-31 airspeeder Neassa had set out for the Rikard family estate, arriving a few hours before the evening will begin. Out of all the beings that Neassa has been or will soon be sent to recruit to the team she has been asked to lead on behalf of The Organization, only a few of those beings struck her as ideal candidates for the team's operational mandate or as beings she would work well with; some already belonging to organizations with their own ideologies and rules of engagement, some striking her as loners that would be difficult to integrate into a unit and one or two she believes are too unstable to be anything but risks. Rikard, the human she is here to try and recruit, Neassa has no such concerns about. An ex-Republic marine sniper, Rikard strikes Neassa as exactly the kind of candidate the team needs; disciplined and experienced with no existing ties to organizations that might create a conflict of interest for him. Neassa also knows that her thoughts and feelings are somewhat biased, her cultural heritage making it easier for her to relate to men and women like Rikard who serve or had served their people or their governments.*

*Bringing the airspeeder to a halt outside of the Rikard Estate's front gates, Neassa shuts the repulsorlifts off and then gets out and begins walking towards the main complex's front door.* *Standing at five foot four, Neassa had a long, oval shaped face with a mouth that is a bit too wide and a nose that is a bit too long for her to be considered conventionally attractive. Her waist length brown hair is currently worn in a braid that hangs down her back, and Neassa is dressed in a pair of khaki colored cargo pants, a white short sleeved tee, brown combat boots and a brown Neo-leather flight jacket. Neassa, a gifted actress with a talent for vocal and behavioral mimicry, does not, on this occasion, employ her talents; her demeanor and comportment both reveal that she, like Rikard, has been or is still from a background requiring physical and mental self-discipline. The DL-44 heavy blaster holstered on her right thigh is well maintained, and hangs expertly at exactly the right height for the length of her arm.*

*Walking with her hands in the side pockets of her flight jacket, Neassa intends to, if not intercepted in some way beforehand, make her way to the front door of the main complex and knock.*

Re: Rikard Estate

*Neassa, having traveled, at times, with a FEG-series droid as her only companion from the time she was very young and had run away from Manda'yaim, is one of the many beings in the universe that treats droids as she would any other sentient and so, when the droid greets her, she smiles and addresses it with the same politeness as she would anyone else, saying,* "Thank you for the welcome TC-63. I'm here to see Hans Rikard if possible. Is he available?"

Re: Rikard Estate

*Turning to look towards the path that TC-63 mentions, Neassa considers whether it would be better to have the droid accompany her, which might offset any apprehension about approach that Rikard might feel but ultimately decides that maintaining the discretion of her purpose will be easier without needing to dismiss the droid and so, turning back from looking at the path, Neassa smiles as she shakes her head and says,* "Thank you TC-63, but I think I can manage to find the cabin myself. *Nodding a farewell to the droid, Neassa says,* Thank you again," *before turning to follow the path to the cabin where she will find Rikard if TC-63 is right about his having returned from a hunt.

Keeping her hands in the side pockets of her brown flight jacket, which should be reassuring in the event her approach is observed as it paints a different picture than walking with her hand near the blaster holstered on her hip, Neassa follows the path to the cabin and, when she reaches the door, knocks and takes a step back to wait to see if Rikard is in.*
*Neassa keeps her posture and expression relaxed, though she does not attempt to conceal her alert watchfulness, knowing that most soldiers would recognize it in her bearing as belonging to a fellow warrior since she wants Rikard to know they have that experience or calling in common.*
