Re: Open Orbit

*Gravity perverted as the deep black void buckled and frothed, spewing forth a vessel of neither steel nor girder. A miid ro'ik warship, one belonging to the Praetorite Vong marauder forces under Domain Yin, emerged from the maddening corridors of darkspace and took to the system. It glided from one jump point towards the next, using its dovin basals to propel it towards the core world routes. Several hundred kilometers away lay the world of Myrkr, beautiful in its lush green splendor, vibrant with a myriad of different forms of life. The Echo of Damnation, as the warship had affectionately been coined, turned its sensor nodes towards the planet, scanning what they could at extended range. Aboard the miid ro'ik's bridge, Commander Cyrion Yin watched the view spider with two brilliant orange mqaaq'it. He rose from his command throne, crossing the distance between his station and that of the lowly officers aboard. Standing over one attendant's shoulder, he stared at the blaze bug readout, pursing together his thin lips as he did so.*

*Vornskr, a seemingly insignificant non-sentient canine, yet incontestably important to breeding voxyn. With the war between the Galactic Alliance and Yuuzhan Vong long since over, there had been no need to replicate the shaping of such beasts. As such no attempts had been made to acquire more, at least on behalf of the Praetorite. Now that had changed. The Intendant led political/military party had decided that even if they had no plans to use the hunting beasts, they ought to at least have access to them. For this they sent Cyrion and the Echo, to secure more for the shaper caste's eight fingered hands to pervert.*

"Launch the yorik-vec." *Said the commander in his native tongue.*

*Six organic craft disengaged from the miid ro'ik's crimson reef, powering their dovin basals and pursuing a course towards the humid atmosphere of Myrkr. Aboard, small groups of warrior caste waited, preparing themselves for the hunt to come.* *They did not expect trouble, but they knew well enough the dangers of the jungle. It was not unlike the tampassi in its natural deadliness.* *Bissop were kept at the ready, the Yuuzhan Vong's own form of canine creature. They snarled and bit at their leash, though were quickly silenced by an unnerving glare from their handlers.*

*All of the coral crusted crafts descended through the atmosphere, vanishing from sight beneath the cloud line.*

Re: Open Orbit

*A WR-542 slipped out of hyperspace over Myrkr the first thing that General Heckler noted was the presence of large Yuuzhan Vong cruiser hanging over the planet. Heckler frowned, he didnt need a fight, not with his mission being time sensitive, and the fact that a ship like this, was not designed for fighting, merely for running. He would have to avoid attention if at all possible, he needed time. It all came down to time.

Carefully he tipped the ship forwards towards the atmosphere, hoping to make it down into the mineral content high trees and as close to the planets gravity as possible.*

Re: Open Orbit

*The WR-542 screams out of the atmosphere at full power, heading directly away from the planet, gaining even more impressive speed as it left the constraints of atmospheric friction. General Heckler glanced at the limited scopes on the ship, again seeing the Yuuzhan Vong craft hanging in orbit. As long as there wasnt anything awaiting to pounce on him somewhere out in front, they would never catch him. Only a few more minutes and he would be leaping into the relative safety of hyperspace. A short hop first would be best, before shifting vectors.*

*The blue ion tail of the engines under full power suddenly seemed to thin and stretch as the craft leapt into hyperspace.*

Re: Open Orbit

*Cyrion Yin mulled over the report delivered to him by the warriors in charge of the Echo's sensor nodes. A ship had been detected going to and from the planet, though its intentions were unclear.* *It hardly mattered. There own reason for being in the system was only to deliver the science team to the surface. After that it had been a matter of metastasizing a few space rocks floating around in orbit before heading out themselves. The voxyn project was well underway and somewhat self sustaining, at least for the time being.* *He began to give the orders to the bridge crew to plot a course for the deep core when a villip transmission arrived. The commander listened intently to his instructions, nodding in understand before the transmission ended and he rose up out of his seat. Crossing the yorik-coral floor he leaned over the navi-brain station and whispered in the ear of the warrior seated there. Word was sent throughout the ship, sped along partly by Susan, the miid ro'ik's yammosk. Dovin basals stirred to a state of alertness, pushing away from the planet and moving the warship towards the jump point that led towards the outlying systems of the galaxy.*

*Bakura. Apparently it held some significance to the Praetorite and the Mandalorian marauders they had recently befriended.* *The commander's mqaaq'it lit up, blazing a fierce crimson hue.* *The warrior caste would be happy. Finally something to kill.*

*As the Echo of Damnation reached the hyperlane, its dovin basals accelerated it up to light-speed, propelling the organic ship into the corridors of darkspace and well on its way towards the border regions of the galaxy. In a brilliant flash of light it departed from the system.*

Re: Open Orbit

*Two GR-75 Bulk Transport Ships drop out of hyperspace from the usual trade route from the Eastern Outer Rim. Nothing out of the ordinary. The IFF codes displayed are Dusk and Dawn respectively and have come from Taris to collect a small shipment of materials for a grocery food chain. Also nothing big to draw attention, and if anything, customs will be so bored with the checking of the the ship, they'll not even think twice about it or care much anyway. They slowly meander toward orbit where they would be hailed by the orbital security no doubt.*

*I watch Leraxsyn closely before motioning him to follow me back to the crew quarters. There was about a dozen men in the room, some obviously the tentacled red species of the Sith, all putting on suits of replica Republic Trooper armour. All in all it wasn't much different than the original suits that they would be used to wearing, but still the white armour is a stark contrast to the normal black suits they were used to.*
There should be a few spare suits of armour there, try and find one that fits. Also grab a blaster, even if you don't use it, you'll need it.
*I walk to a locker and open it up, within was a slightly modified suit for me. Being a Noghri the suit was actually a republic Noghri Commando Suit and was a bit more high tech than the rest but the details are not important right now. As the ships draw closer to the planet I can feel the affects of the force waning, my connection reaching the point of not being able to connect. Myrkr after all contained a lot of Ysalamir.*
Be warned, your connection with the force is about to be cut off. I have not experienced this before, but possibly upon some research you may feel dizzy or sick. Be prepared for it.

Re: Open Orbit

*Following Diabolus into the crew quarters, unaware of how many other people were on the ship, atleast a dozen of them in the quarters putting on their armour. Diabolus motioned me to find a spare suit and put it on, which after rummaging around for a few minutes found one that would fit perfectly and started to strip down to my under clothing. I watched as I saw Diabolus open up a locker revealing a modified suit that looked a little more high tech.*

Why is it that the force will be cut off from me? Is this just something to do with the planet?

*No sooner had I finished speaking and putting the last of my armour on I started to get a little nauseous, a little light headed before my stomach churned making me feel more sick and a little dizzy. I did My best to shrug it off before finding out I really couldn't connect to the force, feeling a little bare not to have it. I went a picked up a blaster, placing it into its holster and the clipping both my light sabers to the armour. I waited as Diabolus got his armour on and for the arrival at our destination.*

Re: Open Orbit

*I finish placing the last piece of equipment on, before placing the helmet under my arm and walk over to Leraxsyn. I feel the strange feeling, almost as if I was naked, as the force is stripped from my being. I test out the force and am met with a strange absence of anything and just an exertion of mental power. I check on my apprentice and shake my head at him and hold out my hand.*
You can't use them. The crimson blades will alert you as a Sith, out of sheer generalization. I have a yellow lightsaber you can use, but without the force I think you'll find it hard to use. Hand eye coordination is not enough when versing trained Mandalorians who will shoot you before you can follow the bolt to deflect it. And even then, what are you going to do when hundreds are sent at you? A blaster or slugthrower is your best bet, and we don't have the most powerful slugthrowers here so I recommend the Blaster Rifle. It is pretty easy to use, you aim and you fire. Always aim before you fire unless you are commanded different. I have some training from my Commando friend, so you may want to stick close to the trained men. If you die, then you are no good for anyone. We won't be collecting your body.

Re: Open Orbit

*I felt strange not being able to feel My Master in the force, it was a bare and naked feeling, just and emptiness, an unwelcome absence. I looked on as Diabolus held out his hand and motioned to my sabers explaining why I couldn't use my sabers.*

Ah I see, well one of them is actually purple coloured,I took it from a Jedi I killed a while back, quite glorious.*I removed both light sabers from my body and placed them in a locker I was stood next too, locking the door behind it, placing the other saber to my right hip.* I will pick up one of the Blaster rifles, seems like a wise decision, thank you. I shall stick close to the trained men and try not to get in the way to much, I haven't used a blaster rifle before. Might I ask what the business is here?

*I walked over to the blaster, still within earshot of Diabolus, picking one up and feeling it in my hands. It felt strange, quite comfortable for something I had never wielded, shifting the weight of it in my hands, bringing it up to my face and looking down the body of the weapon. It would be hard using this but I wasn't about to die on this planet.*

Re: Open Orbit

*I watch my apprentice pick up his blaster and smile at him, motioning for him to follow me. I pick up a sword on the way out, and Leraxsyn would recognize it as Diabolus' own sword from the duel before. Diabolus heads to the bridge and stands at the view-port and look out toward the planet that is in orbit below. He places on his helmet and nods at the pilots of the cargo ship.*
I hope you are ready, we are about to enter an entire new world to both of us. Once on the ground we will first be collecting some of these force-inhibiting lizards. Once that has been done by the team of specialists, we should be able to move onto our next target. An army of Yuuzhan Vong Hunter Droids. We have need of them and the codes in which to take control of them all. We just need to get there and set them loose.

Re: Open Orbit

*I watched in awe as Diabolus finished getting the rest of his armour and weapons ready, noticing the sword he dripped as the one he used in our duel. I walked off after him and found myself back in the bridge of the ship, the planet in orbit below us visible through the view port. I was feeling slightly uncomfortable in my Armour, not normally something I would wear. I turned to Diabolus as he spoke, telling me of the plans about to happen, leading to more questions I would like to ask but pushed them to the back of my mind, feeling too many questions might irritate my new Master.*

I am ready Princeps Diabolus. I do hope things go accordingly without any hitches. I will stay with the troopers as to not get in your way and do my best not to get killed if we get into any trouble. When do we land?

If space had sound....What came next could only be described as a wet fart coupled with subtle gagging and the sound of rubber boots in mud. Hyperspace vomited forth Mand'alor and Duke in the Fortuitous. One second...nothing...then....Burt kriff Raccoon......

"Alright. Home. Sweet or not, there she is. Lets go see whats up shall we?"

Angling the ship to atmospheric Entry Vector (oooo, technical talk), Ashrah piloted the armed freighter towards the planet

"Hah! I cant wait to see my baby again. She has the sweetest voice in all the rims! And I hope those fools have not burned down my kitchen either. Most of all, my baby better be intact. I havent seen her in ages, and I be missin her..."

Re: Open Orbit

*As the armoured freighter descended into the atmosphere, a coral ship ascended out of it. It had risen from the partially concealed damutek in the forest where a Praetorite team of shapers were currently working on reproducing the success of the Voxyn project. Inside the freighter sized organic craft were a dozen of the chimeras, each held in stasis to reduce the effects of cellular deterioration. A blip appeared on the blaze bug screen inside the cockpit of the craft as its sensor nodes picked up the Mandalorians' ship. It was highlighted with a yellow bug, which represented neutrality, as it hadn't obviously assumed a hostile or friendly position.*

*Not that it was any of the pilot's business. It was just kinda one of those 'hey, now will you look at that' moments. Chances were the other ship had picked up the coral craft on its sensors, and its crew were mouthing 'duh kriff was that?'. This would be the second such encounter, the first being when shaper adept Loraine Zu-qin and her escort, subaltern Vandred Carr, had stumbled upon as he gathered ysalamir.*

*The pilot shook his tall-yor covered head and kept on flying towards the nearest hyperspace lane.*

*He was beginning to get the impression that Myrkr was located in Mandalorian space. Either that or it was owned by them. Hopefully it was just the former of the two as they Praetorite didn't really want to start paying rent. That sort of transaction would sorely effect their reputation as freeloaders.*

*Suddenly, Duke stopped smiling and grinning. There was a slight peeping noise as a new entry to orbit was shown, and not from hyperspace, but from athmo. Not Mandalorian. Not Republic, jedi or sith. Not of this galaxy. Yuuhzan Vong. What in all the earths names is the vong doing he...

Re: Open Orbit

*A Crusader-class Corvette enters stage left, accompanied to the sound of dramatic music rather incongruous with the setting of space, through which sound cannot travel. It is accompanied by four fighters of a type that were rarely seen, for these were in fact the only four production models ever produced by Reign Enterprises, back before that pesky Patent Office closed down. The small contingent approaches Myrkr, the homeworld of Clan Australis and the planet on which Elyia had spent more time in the last two years, than any other. But Myrkr's eerie green presence in space gives no sense of what lies beneath her on the planet's surface, and so the ships descend towards Cerar Kandosii, unaware of what awaits them*

Re: Open Orbit

*Though over a month had past in Earthtime since the Crusader-class corvette and its escorts had arrived, due to the nature of Myrkr's orbit around its sun, fluctuations its the temporal gravitational field that affected the Myrkr system and the general ability of Elyia's author to spin Sithspit, it is less than 24 hours later that Elyia and her cohort take off once again, headed back to parts unknown. And by unknown I mean Mandalore. Duh.*
