Re: Open Terrain

The Thunderous was a smoldering- but intact- wreck. The hull burned at a temperature possible only through recent atmosphric re-entry. Automated droids hovered through the air, dousing patchwork fires with fire extinguishers. As Rowan entered the ship, the choking presence of steam and smoke emptied into the open air in a rush. But over the crackling of fires and subdued alarms, there was something strange.

No voices.

The ship required a crew to operate, and had registered cargo according to its digital manifest. But there was no one aboard. Or no one aboard capable of speaking...

Re: Open Terrain

*Rowan makes his way deeper into the the Thunderous, he uses the force to make an invisible bubble like mask around his face so that he can breathe and see without being hampered by the smoke. Rowan begins to sweat and the outer ends of his robes begin to smolder in some places as Rowan works through the wreckage of the oven like interior of the Thunderous.

Stretching out his feelings, Rowan searches for any life that might be on board...so far he had found none.

Rowan comes to the inner bulhead of the ship...using the force to enhance his strength, Rowan slides open a durasteel entry hatch and then closes it behind him. It was alarming cool and dark in this part of the ship, meaning that most of the damage must have been kept to the out areas of the Thunderous. Turning his can bladed lightsaber on to help him see through the black, Rowan slowly works his way down the angled descent into the ship*

Re: Open Terrain

*A small group of Force Stalkers left the Praxeum and followed the Jedi through the forest. They maintained a discreet distance as they trailed the Jedi, but were aware of the destinations. There was no need to hide their Force signatures, the men they followed had been on Ossus long enough to know a Force Stalker by sight. Besides, these Jedi were friends.*

*The leader, Jacob Erie, points toward Rowan Driet.*

*The Mirialan twins, Fortis and Jana, nod.*

*They would rendezvous with Talon and Naren.*

*One speederbike splits off from the group and travels toward the Thunderous. The remaining two speederbikes travel toward the Z-10.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Rowan works his way deeper into the ship, the floor levels out and an uneasy chill sets in. Lowering his force air bubble, Rowan could now see his breathe as he exhaled. Looking around, Rowan finds a comm port where he plugs in his data pad and looks for any power sources still active withen the ship.

After a few moments the data pad chimes and shows and active energy reading in the cargo hold, Rowan un links his data pad from the terminal heads that way*

Re: Open Terrain

Deep inside the hull of the Thunderous, the ship showed more and more signs of fire damage. The walls were scorched in the hallways, the fire-droids rolled lifeless on the floor, their batteries and water pumps drained. But the ship still operated without a single crew member somehow. Which was impossible. Even a ship such as this operating on a droid crew would require at least two sentients to make critical decisions.

Following the energy signature, Rowan would find the primary cargo hold- a space fully one third of the ship. Discarded here and there through the ashes of the past fire were a hundred odd steel crates. A number of them were opened, their metal shells warped by the heat, giving a view of... computer components. Hundreds of computers, probably fully assembled and (at one time) operational, were being shipped somewhere within the Thunderous.

Near the far end of the corridor were clustered half a dozen inert fire-droids. They had expended their payloads to protect one of these many crates, and their work was rewarded. A single computer bank the size of several stacked datapads was still operational and running, albeit on a low battery...

---------------------------------------

Naren grimaced through the rush of wind on the speeder-bike, gripping Talon that much tighter (without his claws, thankfully) and wondering why he hadn't stopped to get some sort of visor to protect his eyes. While Talon was driving, he busied himself with a portable datapad, tracking the crashed Z-10.

"I do have a life form on site,"
Naren shouted over the engine. "It's alive. Or in hibernation. Whatever it is."
