Re: Open Terrain

The ship rocked back and forth in the waves as they set out the nets. In six hours, there would be plenty of fish flopping on the deck. In the meantime however, they would have to stare at each other growing uglier by the second.

Kapal took a death stick from his shirt pocket and lit the end. There was something about the sea air that always made them taste sweeter. He inhaled deeply, then let the smoke stream out of his nostrils. His large fish eyes blinked in the sunlight hidden by glare shades.

Behind him, a humanoid creature stalked up quietly. Aydon. He had shown up at the dock at the last minute. He was a useful hand, and the captain was obviously convinced that he was a necessary asset, but the man made Kapal's skin crawl. Kapal rolled an eye backward to keep an eye on Aydon.

His skin was blue out here, with strips and swirl patterns of teal along his arms, legs and back. He was obviously suited to life in the water because of his webbed hands and counter-shading skin pattern. The man had no body hair of which to speak and was very reserved and quiet. Kapal had never met a species like Aydon, and he had a feeling he didn't want to meet another.

Aydon looked up suddenly to catch Kapal's watchful eyes. He smiled at Kapal, showing his long canines. He made a small snapping gesture in Kapal's direction before he returned his attention to his lines.

Aydon had tried to retain a cover while aboard the ship. His charm had worked on majority of the crew, but Kapal had not been won over so easily. It was only a matter of time before the Mon Calamari would have to be dealt with. It would not be hard to manufacture an accident on a boat like this, but it was inconvenient. Still, it would be more inconvenient if Kapal ruined Aydon's plans before they could start.

Carefully he watched Kapal as he ground out his death stick butt on the deck of the ship, and kicked it back into the ocean. With one final reproachful look in Aydon's direction, the Mon Cal headed toward the cabin. Aydon coiled his line, and made his way toward the bridge. They would all play a few hands of sabacc before they pulled in their nets. Then they would steam back into port with a hold full of fresh meat. After the processing, there would only be a matter of time until they hit the bars.

Yes. It was easy to manufacture an accident aboard ships. But that often led to questions later, questions that Aydon did not want to deal with. It would be far easier to leave no trace on land, and get a decent meal out of it as well. Aydon smiled to himself. Patience, it would not be long now until he could put his plans into action. Patience, and he could continue the hunt.

He turned his inward smile outward as he went inside the cabin at the bridge. He greeted Salpus, the captain, warmly and made all the required jokes and witticisms necessary. It was time to play cards.

Re: Open Terrain

Sometime after Cihlbar's election to the Coalition of Free Worlds.

"Dacians, we have been hand-picked by the newly elected Senator, Cihlbar and his appointed Minister of Justice Fortem, to be an elite squad bent on defending peace and dispatching justice. Simple enough. What does that mean to us? We go where the run of the mill MonCalDef officer cannot. When it calls for a specific small strike or even . . . lets call it preemptive defense. A more specific direction is that you have been commissioned as Dac's military pride for the jedi's disposal to combat the surmounting Red Eclipse issue arising. Now, I have also caught word they are importing someone off world to take command, I am here just to babysit you lot before he gets here. So, without further adieu, welcome to Poseidon's Fist. On the backside of this well accommodation training facility, you will find all the equipment you need to carry out your orders, I will be at my desk if you hatchlings need anything from me; carry on.
