The members of the Dragonian Guard continued to prowl about the city.
Cambran was starting to become agitated. The Colonel specifically said that Tagira would be sending somebody along within the week. The week was coming rediculously close to being over with.
Underneath his helmet, he snarled. Stinking Jedi. They never could get anything right. Not that Cambran blamed the Colonel. There wasn't anything he could do about it. No, he blamed Tagira and his madness. He was too obsessed with personal matters to even think about the men stationed elsewhere.
That's why Cambran respected the Colonel. He got things done, and if he couldn't, he would tell you flat-out that he couldn't at the present, and would try again later. The Colonel actually cared about his men. Cared what they ate, what they drank. Cared if they were clean, if their equipment was in good shape. Cared what conditions they were in.
*Across the city, construction droids began work on the real garrison for the men. The prefab was beginning to get stale. They weren't meant to be used that long. It was the beginning of the military citadel.*
Cambran stared down at the hologram of what would become the Dragonian Citadel, the Dragon's Lair.
A circular complex came into view with a diameter of four kilometers. It was walled in, and little holographic soldiers patrolled the top of the wall. The walls stood five stories high, one shy of the tallest building.
At the center of the complex was a tall tower, dominating the rest of the landscape. It was cut sharply, and thrust itself up into the skyline like a lightsaber among knives. It was roughly pyramidal, with periodic platforms jutting out into open air for speeders or the fighters of special guests to land on.
From there, the complex worked its way out, with the buildings being slightly less tall than the Control Tower. These buildings contained anything from sniper barracks to their armories, from simulators to hangars for aerial and spacecraft. Some structures were solely for defensive purposes, containing turbolaser batteries for a walker assualt and smaller turrets to mop up any infantry. In the eastern portion of this, there would be no buildings however, for it was to be a landing strip as well as hangars. Ships up to the size of a Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser would be able to land here easily.
The next level down was for the ground-based vehicles. Walkers would be stored here, ranging in size from an AT-RT to an AT-TE. Cargo turbolifts would be built onto the sides, as well as inside the structure allowing for easy deployment of whatever was needed. In this section too there were defensive buildings as well with slightly less powerful weapons.
The base of the citadel was closest to the wall. Here would be the barracks for the everyday ground soldier, the special operations soldier, as well as the engineers who drove the hovertanks housed below the barracks. Defensive structures would be sprinkled in with the same amount of firepower as those below the command tower.
The old clone grinned underneath his helmet. This would his and the Colonel's crowning achievement. At least it would be if Tagira's blasted men would ever show up to help them.
