Even though it was located along the Rimma Trade Route, it was not discovered by the Republic until 3,053 BBY due to the planet being obscured from sensors by the Vandelhelm Cloud. Eventually two independent prospectors Vandel and Helm braved the cloud looking for rich minerals and metals. Having found the planet to be rich in ores, Vandel and Helm settled the planet with their families, now named "Vandelhelm", and after making finds on its surface, they used the profits to form the first Guild of Metalsmiths.

Police officers and law enforcement, Jedi, craftsmen and designers, civilians and non hostile visitors.

Type of RP and/or SL likely to be found:
Vandelhelm is primarily a law enforcement world, and is home to the ; a training center for force sensitive law enforcement officers. We are open to teaching and training RP's, in which we are more than capable of teaching light oriented candidates for law enforcement and forensic training for future deployment as law enforcement officers, or conversely, the basic and advanced training that comes with padawan and knight level force and lightsaber instruction.

Open RP / Visitors to the planet:
We are more than happy to have visitors at our planet, and all manner of RPers are more than welcome to land directly in RImma City, rather than open terrain. Rimma city contains bars, factories, various night life, shops and kiosks selling various metalwork, and etcetera. However, we ask PLEASE that you keep ALL Out of Character to the planets Out of Character boards, or if necessary, to Personal Messages between players.

Open RP / Invasions, battles, and take overs:
To be abundantly clear, Vandelhelm will not be tolerating massive takeovers by fleets, or armies. This is a teaching planet, and to be perfectly blunt, where working hard to promote this planet from its current rating, to platinum. Because of this, ALL spontaneous takeover RP's will be soundly rebuffed on the grounds that OOC messaging in open orbit will destroy our hard work at earning a better rating. Secondly, this is primarily a teaching world. Takeover role plays will expressly interfere with the multitude of non combative story lines ongoing on the ground. However, it should be made abundantly clear that Vandelhelm is open to a closed RP takeover, simply not an open RP one. This in essence should cut down if not entirely rid any OOC on the boards, as well as help both parties reach an agreeable solution.



Closed RP / Visitors wishing to interact with other players involved in a story:
Closed RP's between a group of role players are welcome and encouraged on Vandelhelm. However, we ask that you inform the planetary leaders of any closed story lines that drastically affect the Praxeum, Rimma city, or the planet as a whole. This is mostly in part so we can notify visitors of ongoing RPs, and whether or not they should steer clear, or direct them to ask you for permission to join. Also, it should be noted that the no OOC rule still applies, and should be constrained to PM's or the OOC boards.

Closed RP / Invasions and takeovers:
All factions / persons wishing to RP out a takeover of the planet, or the Praxeum, must first PM one of the planetary leaders. There will be NO OPEN RP TAKEOVERS ALLOWED OR ACCEPTED. This is to preserve the ongoing story lines of the planet, as well as to eliminate OOC on the boards, thus sparing the planets rating. Upon PMing, negotiations will undergo as to how we proceed on the RP. We will state now, that planetary defenses and allies will be on the table and will come into play. But, that absolutely NO DAMAGE will be accepted so far as to the Praxeum itself on the planet. Conversely, any planetary forces on the planet will not be able to hide within the Praxeum. The Praxeum will thus act as a neutral ground in which people who wish to remain apart from the closed take over RP may stay, and continue to RP. Any fighting will take place in open terrain, Rimma city, and in orbit. As Rimma city is a NON canon planet, orbital bombardment, and complete destruction of the city is an option. Private RP / Visitors wishing to jump into a story:
The RPers of Vandelhelm respectfully ask that all visitors to the planet wishing to participate in others closed RPs, to PM the leader or various members of the party you wish to interact with. It will then be up to the members of the RP as to if you are allowed in or not.

Private RP / Visitors wishing to jump into Praxeum RP / Receive training:
Visitors wishing to jump into RP at the Praxeum (that have not been expressly invited or have already notified their arrival) are respectfully asked to PM a council member of the Praxeum. If you are unclear as to who is a leader, simply PM anyone within the praxeum for direction and help to a council member.



Orbital Defenses:
Orbital defenses are impractical due to the expansive and unusually dense asteroid field that encompasses not only the planet, but the entire system. As such, anything larger than a star fighter is guaranteed to be destroyed within the system as explained by wookiepedia. As such, the planet of Vandelhelm has no defense fleet within the system, but only a scant patrol force that patrols the edge of the system.
