Re: Golden Room

*Deimos notes the wary warning Arkan gave. The palace did have Anti-air gun and missiles turrets that would be able to take out a vessel such as the Cutlass. However, it might be a Pyrrhic victory for either side should one come out on top of the other. The palace was capable of defending itself from the Cutlass but not SD's. Deimos wanted to install an orbital shield to help with that but a certain office remained closed.....*

"If they were here it would show that the systems had gone back to stand-by mode without being triggered. Had we not known about the betrayer, we would have been blindside indefinitely . As I said earlier, I want to see them try to get out. Not in. Better proactive measures can be taken after reactionary measures have been seen. Sacrifices have to made in order to see those better precautions put in place. As I'm sure you would agree. As well you would agree timing is everything. I would hope that they don't have a complete death wish in coming unprepared. You wouldn't allow that kind of characteristic to be present in your crew, I'm sure."

Re: Golden Room

* As Deimos and Arkan are chatting and killing time until the assault, Deimos sensed a disturbance in the Force. It wasn't a large disturbance, it was subtle. A feral rage. Completely different from the rest of the Palace. Like a Vornskyr. But it was human and sentient.*

*Deimos turned and walked towards the security display. Noticing that one of the security measures had been lowered, he looked back towards Arkan putting his right hand on his temple.*

"Do you have a woman in your crew, captain? That has a special bond with an animal?"

Re: Golden Room

*Cleite stands still, or relatively still as she shifts her weight occasionally or makes other little movements that a real human would make were they standing guard over their principle, as they wait and Deimos and the pirate pass the time.* *Following Deimos with her eyes, Cleite narrows her large, blue, innocent looking eyes when he glances at the security display and then turns to ask the pirate a seemingly random question that, knowing of his abilities, Cleite knows is most likely not random at all.

Her gaze moving from Deimos to the pirate, Cleite's expression remains impassive as she waits to hear the answer to the question that is most likely not random even though, the question alerting her to the possibility that the waiting is soon to come to an end, she becomes even more alert and en garde than she had been previously.*

[npc name=Arkan:1d570mz7][i:1d570mz7]There are [narration:1d570mz7]He pauses for a second, stroking his chin as if he had a beard.[/narration:1d570mz7] about one hundred female members of the crew of the Cutlass. I think about ten of them keep an animal of some sort. To be honest, of those ten only about five of them would be on the mission to rescue me but without me in charge, I'm not sure which of them, if any would![/i:1d570mz7][/color:1d570mz7][/npc:1d570mz7]

[narration:1d570mz7]Arkan knew that these Forcies had powers that allowed them to detect each other so Deimos could sense one of his crew. It was interesting to know that one of them had Force potential, he'd have to hide this from Sorak though or he'd sink his teeth so deep into her that she'd be lost forever if she wasn't dead. The numbers of women on his crew were correct, as were the number with pets, no lies there. However Arkan knew perfectly well exactly which member of his crew Deimos was referring. Fia was in the building! It was also useful to know that his crew were now in the building, or at least on the planet, he doubted that the Archduke's powers extended as far as an accurate detection like that far out into the system! The Captain then asked a question to which he already knew the answer.[/narration:1d570mz7]

Re: Golden Room

*Deimos indeed couldn't sense anyone just out of nowhere. Especially not knowing them. Deimos almost didn't pick her out amidst the rage patrolling the Palace. However it was a focused rage and hers was primal, unfocused, and unprotected rage. Her thoughts were foreign almost unreadable. *

"I ask Captain because I sensed a small disturbance coming from an unknown entity."

* Even being a prodigal telepath, Deimos almost missed her presence. He concentrates and searches her mind. Even though she has had no one try to invade her mind, her primal thoughts are still tough to penetrate. Just like a Vornskyr's.*

"I read her primal thoughts like a Vornskyr's."

**Finally with a more focused effort Deimos taps into her mind and sees Trask and Nem Yin. Deimos doesn't keep the contact for very long. So as to avoid suspicion.**

"She has a Chiss companion I gather to be Trask and a Yuuzhan Vong companion with her. Your crew is here. To be certain."

*Deimos also senses that a Sithlord and two Acolytes are on their way to greet them.*

"They will have company soon I think."

*Deimos lowers his hand.*

*Without probing too deeply Deimos could feel that Arkan was concerned for his crew members safety. Not from the Palace, but from his brother. Deimos heard stories about Sorak corrupting all he touched when it came to Force-users. It might be better to offer her training to protect herself better from Sorak. With Arkan's permission of course.*
[i:2vb2fcfa]*Another stumble on her poor leg and a grunt of pain prompted Luthrr to merely pick her up in his arms, taking her off her feet completely. Lita scowled in protest, but the guard dismissed it, having not heard a direct order to put her down. It would be slow going up the stairs if she continued to try walking on her own.

Lita pressed her hand against the bioscan of the door and it whispered open. Jhere, with Trask's unconscious form over one shoulder, lead the way up the stairs. Lita allowed the droids and the others to go ahead before she and Luthrr followed behind the rest.*[/color:2vb2fcfa][/i:2vb2fcfa][/quote:2vb2fcfa]

[i:2vb2fcfa]*The hall to the throne room was lined with guards, their weapons at the ready as they watched the group, escorted by the droids, entered the golden chamber. Lita was the last to enter. Before they passed through the doors, she insisted on being put down on her own feet. She leaned heavily on the burly Zabrak's arm as they made their way to the emperor's throne, then he helped lower her into a kneeling position before stepping back to join the ranks of the other guards.

A moment later, the human identified as "Ganen" arrived in uniform, carrying Arkan's armor in a large shoulder bag.*[/color:2vb2fcfa][/i:2vb2fcfa]

*As the doors to the Golden Room open and Lita and those accompanying her enter, Cleite moves casually and surreptitiously nearer to Deimos despite the fact that she calculates the odds of her needing to fulfill her mandate of protecting the Zabrak Jen'Jidai are infinitesimally small.* *Seeing at least one unconscious being, presumably one of the pirates, Cleite assumes that, as Lita is here rather than elsewhere, the assault upon the palace has been dealt with, though she does not allow that assumption to make her vigilance any less vigilant and merely remains poised, silent and still behind Deimos, her blue eyes alert and scanning the occupants of the room continually.*

Re: Golden Room

=====================================================

*From somewhere in the Mid Rim, Nem Yin accessed the Holonet via the oggzil attachment of his villip choir. A pre-recorded message was delivered to Emperor Deimos inbox/voicemail.*

:: Greetings Emperor Deimos. This is Executor Nem of Domain Yin, as you may recall we met briefly at your palace in order to secure the release of Arkan Bloodrage. I also understand an arrangement was brokered between yourself and the Praetorite by Prefect Ur Skell. ::

:: Ur's report mentions that you spoke to him of stirrings on Korriban. It also says that Ur asserted the likelihood that those stirrings had something to do with the Sith Empire we have just recently discovered. As it so happens, those suspicions were correct. The Sith are on Korriban. I repeat, the Sith are on Korriban. ::

:: We have no word yet of their main goal, though from what we have been told they are attempting to immerse themselves in the galaxy. I believe it is their intention to focus on disrupting the Republic, but it might be prudent to keep close tabs on your own staff just in case they try something. Nothing we've learned so far seems to suggest they have any interest towards Iridonia. I have dispatched part of my fleet to Rendili in an effort to force the Republic out of its complacency. Hopefully that will ensure they tighten their borders. ::

*He failed to mention that he was also using the attack to gather human slaves, though the Iridonian Emperor likely assumed as much. The Praetorite were still Yuuzhan Vong after all.*

:: Simply warning the Republic might have run less of a risk, but I see no profit in doing so, nor would I wish to end up in the Empire's cross-hairs if word ever got out to them. One bounty on my head is enough trouble as it is. ::

:: Hopefully this information proves useful to you in some capacity. I would also advise you to avoid Coruscant in the very near future, though I am unable to provide you with more information than that without placing others at risk. ::

:: Good luck and Yuuzhan speed, my friend. Nem out. ::

*Message Ends.*

*Using the com channel that the prefect gave him Deimos contacts Nem Yin.*

:: Executor Nem of Domain Yin, this is Emperor Deimos of the Iridonian Empire. I am in need of your services. Something you and your bretheren excel in. Contact me as soon as you can. I believe this is something that will benefit us both. Emperor Deimos out. ::

*Deimos clicks the link off. Hopefully he gets it in time.*

*Deimos knows about the Vong taking slaves. Even with his sister being one herself for as long as she did. Deimos understood it was business but it was different when one of your own family is. At least they didn't take children. That was all Deimos could say for the Vong.*

Re: Golden Room

*The lift hummed to a stop, and Lita led the way out of the lift into a single, grand hall. It was a single wide bridge with that same plush carpet running to the end of a pair of massive doors adorned in gold, and a sheer drop on either side. If one looked down from the edge, they could see there were other pathways below them leading to other various halls and chambers within the pyramidal palace.

Outside of the doors, the black-skinned Zabrak Lord Opress, along with the members of the Imperial Council, were gathered and awaiting them. She ignored the hisses and unpleasant murmurings from the council she had once led, heading quickly to the doors. If Trask had done his job, which she was certain he had, there would be no other guards able to quickly come to the emperor's aid, save for the ones that were already within, and the droid army had been neutralized.

With a sudden telekinetic push of the Force, the heavy twin doors slammed open, and Lita rushed inside with her saberstaff held at the ready.

What greeted her, what greeted them all, was an empty, if lavish, room. No Deimos, no Cleite, no officers. Even the massive phrik doors that led to the vault remained unguarded, as they had never been before. Lita stilled, then lifted her face slightly, trying to get a sense of if this was some sort of ambush. But no warnings flashed in her mind, and the only beings she could sense were those she and Mareth had brought with them. The place felt....utterly abandoned.

She growled low under her breath.*

"So it would seem." *The voice came out slightly synthesized due to the mask Trask wore, but was otherwise unmistakably his for those who knew him. A moment before he spoke he had deactivated the fractal pattern cloak, having just finished his sweep of the empty room, and appeared in front of the group.* "You wished for a bloodless battle, and it seems you will get one." *Lita's eyes darkened and the chiss glanced at the mandalorian. The others would have done what they could to preserve life, but in his experience the mercenary cult and its members were not adaptable tools.* "The throne room is secure, and as empty as it appears."

Re: Golden Room

*Adelle followed behind the group then discreetly lifted her hand from the slowly but surely dampening body glove beneath the plates of armor. She hissed then returned her hand to her side, determined she would see this to the end. A butt-kicking had been promised and she wasn't about to miss it.*

"Corellia's nine hells," *she breathed.

The Golden Room proved to be as impressive as it sounded. Gilded walls and pillars encircled them. The same carpet beneath her feet extended over a bridge to an island almost, the throne commanding all attention in the room. The empty throne. Adelle quirked an eyebrow, her mind struggling to make sense of the anomaly amid the pain she felt.*

"So, an empty throne has been leading my people these many months."

*Trask appeared out of nowhere but Adelle was too busy being awed by the imposing room to be all that surprised.*

"So it would seem. You wished for a bloodless battle, and it seems you will get one. The throne room is secure, and as empty as it appears."

"Damn, was looking forward to watching an ass-kicking," *Adelle muttered. Despite what little levity she could put into her tone, some sense of indignation rose up. From what Lita had told her, the tyrant they were usurping betrayed her authority and named himself ruler then exiled the Zabrak from her home. Only to abandon his throne months later? The CorSec agent in her said something smelled fishy, but the currents in the Force assured her this was no trap. Justice and vengeance could not be delivered on a missing culprit. What the hell.

A part of her couldn't help feel relieved. She'd seen Lita in action but the tyrant and his prowess had remained a mystery. A mystery that her overactive imagination took and exaggerated, then played with. And in each scenario she thought of, the fear of losing her friend plagued her. Life was too short a thing to take for granted, Adelle knew that too well. And with both of them walking dangerous paths, it would be all too easy to have regrets. Maybe it was time to be completely honest with Lita.

But not here. Not now. It would be inappropriate and out of place. Later. Perhaps when she could have a moment of relative privacy. Adelle looked towards Lita, as if waiting for her command.*

Re: Golden Room

*When the lift reached its destination, Aerandir lifted the silent hilt of his lightsaber in preparation for immediately activation and use should it be necessary. But yet... Aerandir could sense nothing but calm. In a relative sense; there was unrest, but no sense of violent hostility.

As the turbolift doors opened to a carpeted bridge overlooking the floors below, Aerandir could not help but step away just enough to peer over the edge and see what lied below. Mostly he was scanning for vantage points, or possible means of... unconventional escape. Once he had a good look, he stepped closer to the group again, only now able to discern the figures that stood before the grand golden doors before them.

Lord Opress, and, he assumed, the Iridonian Council. That would explain the unrest, if Lita's stories were any indication; they clearly were not happy to see her. Aerandir paid them little regard other than giving them a look over and committing their general imagery to memory, as well as letting their Force presences temporarily imprint upon his mind should it be necessary later, then followed Lita and the others into the hall itself.

Deimos should have been here. This should have been the part where a known Dark Jedi and enemy of the Jedi was confronted, defeated, and detained. Or worse, if necessary. And yet, it was completely empty. An observation also made bitterly by Lita, and affirmed by another figure that appeared; their fellow saboteur, Aerandir assumed, who also remarked how this was a "bloodless battle." Relatively; Aerandir remembered the fallen Zabraks and feeling their life force stripped from them. He suppressed a shudder at the memory. Still, the death toll could have been far worse...

Adelle's remark, one mixed with lightness yet irritation, drew Aerandir's gaze to her again. In a way, it was a relief; there was little Adelle would have to put herself through if this was truly the end. But he wasn't about to consign themselves to an easy victory just yet, not until it was proven.*

Seems unlike a Dark Jedi to just neglect what would be a great asset to him.
*He had been examining the hall, part of his mind taking in the grandeur of the place, the other part examining all possibilities.*
I wonder if your Council "friends" there know the story.
*"If they'd even talk." He tore his gaze away from the structures, looking around at the group.*
And if he did not in fact abandon Iridonia, he may come back.
*He was probably stating the obvious; everyone in the room had likely already considered the possibility. But it was one worth voicing regardless, and one that led into his next bit of dialogue.*
I'm sure that once you're reinstated to the throne, you'll have the resources necessary to defend against his return should that happen. However, should you need it, my help is always freely offered.
*Aerandir glanced at Adelle, expecting her to most likely agree with the sentiment. He could tell that Adelle some sort of connection with Lita, one he could not explain but definitely feel. Whatever it was, Aerandir put that thought aside and returned his gaze to Lita. By no means was he implying they were done here; he was only, once again, suggesting another possibility.*
