Re: Office of the Editor

Hello my amazing news team,

just a friendly reminder that a new month is upon us, December's due date for articles is the 29th. Some late submissions will be accepted as always, but please don't all hand me articles on the very last day.

Also anyone looking for an article to do, Corr and Adi have asked that their duel in the GBA be checked out. It could be a good opportunity for a new sports reporter to pull out from your ranks, most of it will be commentary on the match i'd imagine.

Also with the next GBA tournament coming up, we will need a correspondent, so the offer goes first to you guys if someone would like to keep it covered. the basic duties will include reading through the duels and then interviewing winners after each round and commenting on the matches as they finish up.
the sooner i get a reply the better.

cheers,
Rebecca

Re: Office of the Editor

I'll cover the GBA tourny when it hits, even though I'll also be participating.

If that's acceptable. If someone else has already asked to cover it, I can cover Corr and Adi's duel. Again, if no one's already claimed it.

Re: Office of the Editor

Thanks for having me, bur'cyase. I'll do my best.

Also, if you need any help regarding the GBA tourney coverage, I'm at least decent on the more technical aspect of dueling and can do a pretty fun play by play.

Corr/Adi is a biiiiiig nasty bugger of a duel, if you've not seen it already.

Darian, if you're interested, we can work together on covering the GBA tourney. I also write for Darth Kruor, by the way. I think it'd be a good idea to have multiple viewpoints on the duels.

Also - Dace has expressed interest in the HNN covering the upcoming Mando Crusade, so if anyone is interested in covering that, it'd definitely be article-worthy.

I'm down for that. Multiple personas catch different things and see them from different angles.

hey all,

Just a little note: if you have any idea's you'd like to see the HNN explore, feel free to give me a shout or post it up in here and we can look at pursuing it as an addition to the monthly reports.

Also if you think you know someone who might be interested or would be good in the HNN, direct them to the forums or get them to send me a PM.

hope you have all had a good month so far.

cheers,
Rebecca

Re: Office of the Editor

I just read back and I think it's been misinterpreted that I took on both the GBA tourney and the Adi/Corr duel. I actually would've taken the Adi/Corr duel if the GBA was already being covered, is what I meant...

However, if there's no one else that's interested in covering it, I'll get on the ball on that one. Hopefully Darian and I are still working together on the tournament article.

Re: Office of the Editor

Hey Rebecca,

I know we have spoken about this before but to simply have it here in writing, I think, is never a bad idea. In the spirit of "Meet the Whills" (which were awesome, btw. I love reading those interviews) what about a serious interview with retired HCs? Both as their characters and an interview with the writers themselves. It might be interesting to see the input of retired HCs from Kaan, Arhiia, Eversio, Dragus, Plu, Dav Man'Sell, etc.

And, if you like, I can help you draft the questions for that and send them out or give them to your team so that all the HCs get asked the same questions (or not, if that is something you don't want to have happen). Regardless, I think it's an idea considering and fleshing out while the retired HCs are still around.

I ran the idea by Eversio and Dragus and they seemed cool with it. I can reach out to Dav and Kaan next, if you like. However you all want to play it is fine with me.

Food for thought,
Zauriel

perhaps both yourself and Darian can take care of it together?

perhaps we can come up with a pool of questions to choose from, so that there is still a little bit of variety.
please run the idea by Dav and Kaan in the meantime to get their thoughts, I'll get in touch with you soon Zauriel (thanks for checking in).

Re: Office of the Editor

This has completely slipped my mind. Rebecca, what's the easiest way I can go about getting the GBA article done? My apologies - it's naturally been a pretty busy week so far.

Should I interview a few of the contestants/get some commentary? Or how would you go about doing the article? I'm assuming since it'll be in within a week we probably won't get much in for it - maybe some of the winners from Round 1, but that's about it.

Re: Office of the Editor

well as far as the Tournament is concerned, that will all go under it's own separate report, so do not feel like you have to get it in by the deadline.
I'd probably highlight each match, mentioning some good moves by each contestant, throw in some quick interviews, make some jokes.
make it fun, but also informative.

Re: Office of the Editor

Where would you like the Round 1 article posted when I've completed it? I've pretty much got most of it done, though I wanted to wait until the round was officially over to mention nearly every duel in some fashion. If you'd like, I could send you what I do have right now just to see if I'm on the right track, or even submit it in portions, though I think that might be a bit silly, honestly.

Whatever you want, let me know.
