I am an Archangel... The one that takes people to Heaven or Hell if I remember correctly. Zerachiel, also known as Sedakiel and many other names, is the Archangel of God's Judgement and Comfort and Healing, and better yet the Angel who has dominion over Earth. Hell's yeah motherkriffers! I'll take you all to hell!

Re: Thor vs. Iron Man

The Hulk is one of the most powerful protagonists of Marvel Comics. The majority of the time he has been able to defeat even Thor and Sentry depending on the incarnation such as in World War Hulk. Just about the only character to be shown to beat Hulk in even fight they've been in that I know of is Superman, and that particular comic is considered non-canon and happened only twice.

Re: Thor vs. Iron Man

Darn, this was a tough choice. I'm going to bite the bullet and pick Tony. Granted he's not as strong as Thor, but he's far smarter and I think he'd think up a way to beat him in a fight.

Well, if money is an issue, Marvel's certainly going to be rolling in dough thanks to all the money the Avenger's film brought in. Whoever made the suggestion to Disney to buy Marvel is without a doubt set for life now and I for one regret any doubts I had of them buying Marvel. Granted Dark Knight Rises will do fine, but I have a strong feeling it won't beat the Avengers. Only bad Marvel film coming from what I can tell these days is the Amazing Spiderman.

Except that he... um, well... couldn't. Thor even gave him asgardian technology, and Tony still couldn't figure out a way to beat him. How does it get any more definitive than that?

He wasn't talking about profits that each company makes he was talking about the fact that Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne are billionaires who used some of their money to become superheroes.

Re: Thor vs. Iron Man

Stark would make it a very good fight, however, Thor is a god, and it is mighty tricky to kill those. If Stark came prepared to defeat Odinson, then I could see Stark winning in that smart choobies Stark fashion... because I like smart asses.

However, all out brawl, Tony says the one thing that frays Thor's nerves at the drinking hole... well Thor can bring the thunder....

Would it be a bad idea to mention Batman, who at one point in the comics literally had files on how to defeat practically every single character in the DC Universe.

Batman could cure lung cancer by smoking cigarettes from the way he is portrayed as being borderline omniscient at times.

In JLA: Tower of Babel, Talia Al Ghul steals these dossiers and using them, her father is able to neutralise the entire JLA bexcept Batman and Green Arrow (ironically the only two non-powered members). Thankfully, Batman realises what is happening and is able to save the day. But following this betrayal of their trust, Batman has his membership temporarily revoked.

As for Superman, I think its easy for people to dislike him because he just seems so....[i:15emaye8]super[/i:15emaye8]. But Marvel does have thier rough equivalents. I believe that in terms of what they try to achieve with the Superman comics, they succeed. They just tackle a different sets of challenges and ideologies. But don't get me started on those damn movies.....

As to the question at hand; at the end of the day when you weigh up all the pros and cons, I think Thor would beat Iron Man.

Re: Thor vs. Iron Man

Avengers Spoilers Ahead

If you've watched The Avengers, you already know what would happen in a fight. The two beat the piss out of each other, and in that regards they are even. Thor has his specialty of calling down lightning, but as we have seen, Stark's suit has the ability to absorb it and fire it right back at Thor, effectively taking away Thor's most powerful trick. So I have to give it to Iron Man.

On the other hand... Tony Stark IS a smartass. Thor is Asgardian... He guards asses. So why would he be fighting what he is supposed to be guarding in the first place?

Re: Thor vs. Iron Man

If we're strictly talking movies and discounting the comic version of things where Thor beat the crap out of Iron Man, then it still goes to Thor.

In the fight in the Avengers, not a single thing Tony did even so much as scratched Thor. Not one single drop of blood was drawn. Whereas on Iron Man's side, Thor crushed his armor bare-handed. Throughout the entire fight, Thor had Tony on the ropes. Thor even fell out of the helicarrier and crashed down at near-terminal velocity (albeit with a drastically altered trajectory), and still didn't bleed. Not even the HULK could draw blood. The simple fact is, Iron Man is incapable of actually harming Thor, while all Thor needs is a good grip.

Batman is acceptable. You may proceed.
