L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*The huge beach villa, outside of the city of Nystao, was constructed in order to provide the members of L'Angele Noir, the Dark Angels, with a place they could go, and relax. The serene setting along miles of white sand beaches, and crystal clear water, shimmering in the warm sun. A dozen or so huts dot the shoreline, each with their own private beach access. A massive main house is situated up on a hill, overlooking the villa, providing the entire complex with security, and a place for the employees to do their daily duties. All meals are cooked here, along with the laundry facilities.

Prince Matango had a certain hut he liked to frequent, when he could escape from the daily duties as Prime Minister, and Commander of L'Angele Noir. The hut was situated in the middle of of the shoreline, a dock jutting out about thirty feet into the clear blue ocean. A small, 2-person watercraft stood moored, ready for use both above and under the water.

Hut number four was being stocked for a nice, quiet weekend away for the Prince, and a guest, with IMPLICIT instructions not to be interrupted this particular weekend....*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

Damnit!! Where is that cursed sonuvabit...

*In the main house, Adi was frantically searching for something he had hidden here when the large hub of the beach villa was first built. It was a gemstone, one he had found in his travels back when he left the New Republic, and was part of his Quick Response Delta team. it was a gorgeous opal, found on the planet of Joralla. He forgot exactly why they were there, but supposedly, they held powers of luck, and healing. The leather cord it was attatched to was still in perfect shape, the vivid yellow stone, about a carat in weight, was as brilliant as the day he had found it. He had made the setting himself, on one of the long stints in the starship between jobs. He had made it to wear himself, but the woman he had bought the stone from told him that the person it was meant for would come into Adieumus' life when he needed them most.

That person was a cute little redhead, who had blundered into the bacta room, and stolen Adieumus' heart, named Ice Coldstar.

Matango walked out onto the massive wraparound porch, and smiled when the commander of his QRD forces, Delta 2, was sitting on one of the oversized chairs, enjoying a day of R and R. Nodding his greeting to 2, Adi walked over to the railing. He pulled the Jorallian opal out, and held it up into the bright sunlight. It sparkled with the fire of a thousand suns, its facets so numerous, and perfectly cut.

It would make a wonderful gift for Ice. Adieumus just hoped that she liked yellow....*

You ok, Sir?

*Adi was suddenly aware that he had been watching the redheaded beauty for some time now, wandering the beach, splashing in the surf, having a grand time. He was really taken by her. He cleared his throat, and smiled.*

Fine, Sear'nt. As you were.

*Two smiled at his old commander. He understood what it was to be in love.....*

*Adi arrived outside the beach hut. Ice's footprints were all over the soft, white sand surrounding the doorway of what Matango referred to as his "primitive" getaway. Ice was nowhere to be seen. He walked inside, went to the bar, and pulled a bottle of Noghri wine from the cooler. Yanking the cork, he poured some into a glass, and took a sniff. He sipped it, recorked the bottle, grabbed another glass, and walked out onto the front porch. Planting his rear on a big, overstuffed chair, he put up the footstool, took another sip of wine, smiled, and waited...

Ice should be back soon.....*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*Matango had been sitting on the porch not even ten minutes when Ice came back to the villa, sand from her little beach excursion still sticking to her legs. She was playfully standing on the edge of the porch, looking at him over the rim of her ever-present sunglasses, her turquoise eyes shimmering in the waning afternoon sunlight.

She was simply breathtaking.*

Its a private party. By special invitation only. Your name miss?

*If she wanted a sense of humor, Matango would give her humor. He chuckled happily, not giving her a chance to answer, and stood up. He popped the cork from the wine bottle, filled the empty glass, poured a bit more into his own, to fill it, and set the bottle back down. He walked out to Ice, and handed her the glass of wine, kissing her on the forehead.*

I hope you enjoyed the beach. Sorry it took so long up at the main house. I was....looking for something.

*The Jorallian Opal necklace was warm in his pocket. That was something else he noticed about the stone. When it was exposed to lightside energy, the gemstone almost seemed to absorb it, growing warm to the touch, emitting a soothing, calming energy from within its sparkling depths. Adieumus couldnt wait to see Ice' face when he gave it to her....

Chills ran up Matango's back. Just the mere sight of Ice rendered him speechless. She took the words from his mouth, and threw them to the wind, leaving him without anything to say. Others had affected him in similar fashion, but not since.......

Since Arhiia.

Remembering his Master, her abandoning him for reasons unknown, leaving him to face the powerful, and dark, Dace Concordia, Adi felt a fleeting moment where his face went grim, the betrayal of the one who vowed never to leave him still very fresh on his mind. It wasnt hate, or anything close to that, but merely a feeling of being left to the wolves, to fend for himself. Master Concordia, in Matango's mind, had committed the ultimate sin, betrayal, in the eyes of Adieumus.

Yet, here, in this place, with the young, beautiful, and vibrant redhead that was Ice, the pain Adi had suffered since then melted away. She tossed them to the wind, and gave Adi renewed hope that there was still good in the universe...

Matango smiled at the cute way Ice seemed to approach everything around her, a vibrance and vigor that had long been missing from his life. It did him good to be around Ice, her good-natured humor kept him smiling, and happy.

Yeah, she was the one, for sure...*

I have something for you, my dear.

*Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the Jorallian opal necklace, hanging from its black leather cord. It fell from his hand, the stone suspended from the cord, its vivid yellow color sparkling in the low afternoon sun. As gorgeous as the stone was, it needed someone with the beauty of Ice to make it truly special. Offering to put it on for her, if she so desired, Adi smiled.*

May I?

*The smile across Adi's face was that of true happiness. It was a feeling he had not experienced in a very long time. It had been growing since the moment Adi had laid eyes on Ice, the emotions swirling around inside him, like a typhoon of feelings, driving him onward, and toward her, whether he liked it or not....

He would have it no other way...*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*Adi waved to the Shar-Jinn's as they took up residence in the bungalow down the beach. It was good to see that Adi wasnt the only member of L'Angele Noir who had the opportunity to take a break. He saw that Ben was on his way over. He walked over, shook his friend's hand, and smiled. This trip had been a long time coming, for all of them.*

Ben, my brother, good to see you having a chance to finally relax. Its good to have you guys around. Hey, listen, Im gonna try and take Ice out to the ruins of the ancient city in the new submersible. Think you can hold the fort for me while we are gone? We may be a while....

*Adieumus hoped that his friend, ally, and brother in arms would know what he meant. This girl was special, and Matango needed some time to talk to her, without fear of anyone else being involved. There was much that was quite private that not many knew, and he felt he had some explaining to do to Ice after the meeting in the med bay with Arhiia, Nadia, and Eyam`e. The girl probably had questions she wished to ask, and that would be the time to do so

Turning his attention back to Ice, still excited about the gift he had given her. She was examining it ferverishly, holding it up to the sun, and looking at the facets sparkling in the waning afternoon sun. It was apparent that she was quite pleased with it.

Smiling gently, he wrapped his arms tightly around her again, enjoying the smell of her hair. It smelled of the salt air, sunshine, sand, and whatever shampoo she used...it was driving him insane as he buried his nose into her neck, and playfully nibbled. Working his way back up to her ear, he whispered softly.*

I have an idea....Have you ever gone for a ride in a submersible?

*Adi watched with glee as she shook her head no. He himself had only had the repulsorcraft submersible out on test runs. Supposedly, it could go to any depth on the planet of Honoghr with ease. It was a prototype design, meant to be used by QRD in water insertions. A high speed infiltration craft with the evasive ability to go under the water without any changes to the craft's outer shell. It was supposed to be armed, but as this was a prototype, this one was unarmed. Matango also had the generators and engines upgraded for better speed and maneuverability, both above and under the water.*

Good. C'mon, lets go for a ride.

*Adieumus took Ice by the hand, and began to lead her down to the dock. Moored there, the black watercraft, marked with the insignia of L'Angele Noir on the tailfin. It floated quietly in the water, bobbing up and down gently in the waves.

This should prove to be quite the exploratory expedition......*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*Reaching the watercraft, Adi tapped a few buttons on the entry panel, and the hydraulic door slid open with a "hiss". Helping Ice into the passenger seat, Adi followed her, and got behind the controls. This is where he decided to have a little fun with Ice....*

*Intentionally, he began clumsily flipping switches, acting like he was trying to find the starter button. As he hit the buttons, various alarms and warnings sounded. He enjoyed every minute of the spectacle, Ice looking a little confused, and perhaps a little concerned....

Once he got it started, 2 of the six engines spun up, and he unhooked the mooring line. The hatch closed, and Adieumus turned the craft toward the mouth of the inlet protecting the villa from the extreme waves on the open beach. Nearing the mouth of the harbor, Adi looked over to Ice, and grinned.*

Shall we see what this baby can do?

*Without even waiting for an answer, he shoved the throttle wide open, and the other four engines roared to life, and the watercraft exploded in a massive burst of speed. It rose up out of the water, and began to glide about six inches from the surface of the water. It was integral in the design of the assault ship, allowing it to be quieter, and less apt to be picked up by enemy sensors.

The speed, however, was now being used to impress a pretty little redhead in the other seat....*

*Adi was now demonstrating that his earlier ineptitude at activating the controls was a ruse, and he was now masterfully executing the high speed maneuvers that this craft was capable of. Reaching to the main panel, and flipping two switches, a small jolt was felt as the stub wings extended, and Adi yanked back on the control stick. The watercraft suddenly became an aircraft, shooting straight up into the air, soaring into the sky. As the rapid ascent began, Adi also began a series of lazy corkscrews, spinning the craft around and around in a slow spiral upward.

The upward velocity suddenly began to drop as they began to reach the maximum operational altitude of the amazing little craft. Pulling back on the stick yet again, and cutting the throttle, Matango put the ship into a steep dive, heading straight back down to the water. It began to pick up speed, and it appeared they were going to slam into the water, and explode into a million pieces.....

...And thats when he hit the throttle again.....

The ship rocketed forward, accelerating faster toward the water, which seemed to be only mere seconds from becoming the end of both Ice and Adieumus. Reaching to the panel again, Adi flipped two other switches, and the stub wings folded back into the fuselage. No sooner had they folded in, the ship struck the water.....

....and continued into the depths of Honoghr's massive ocean.

When the ship had slowed in the water, Adi clicked the switch for the interior and exterior lighting systems, illuminating the alien world around the boat-turned-jet-turned-submersible. The adrenaline rush from such a wild ride was beginning to subside from Matango's body, and he took his hands from the controls, allowing the autopilot to take over. Turning to Ice, Adi wasnt sure the reaction he would get, but he HAD to know her opinion of his new toy....*

So, Mon amour doux, what do you think of our little boat?

*With the look on her face, Adi wasnt sure if Ice was going to answer, or vomit......*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*Adieumus rubbed his arm, as it was stinging from the shot he took from Ice. That girl packed a punch....

He liked it....

Ice was staring dreamily at him, and the ever-present lazy smile decorated the countenance of the Jedi. He couldnt help it, just being around her made him very happy, like the force was smiling upon them, wanting them to explore this mysterious thing that was between them. His gaze fell upon hers, and he was lost again in a sea of green....

Shaking it clear, he began to speak.*

Ok, ok, I know I was messin with ya, but, seriously, this is a helluva ride!

*Adieumus pushed forward on the controls, and the small ship dove downward, into the depths of the ocean. About twenty minutes later, they came to the sea floor. The floodlights came up, and in front of the 2 in the sub, a demolished cityscape stretched out as far as the eye could see. Buildings, both complete, and destroyed, were laying on the sea floor.

Streets, streetlights, homes, the entire city was underwater, as it had been left an as-yet undetermined eon ago, sleeping soundly on the bottom of the massive abyss above. The sub slowly approached, the lights catching little glimpses into the life of the undersea creatures that now made this underwater metropolis their home. Adieumus had been silent since getting slugged, but the smile he wore never left his face.

For the first time in a very long time, Adi was happy. He had defended Honoghr from the evils of the darkside, and a pair of powerful sith lords. He had new allies, like Kaja, and Nadia. He had a daughter, Eyam`e, that was now alive and well.

And now, he had Ice.

Love was a fleeting interest for most of Adieumus' life. Even when he truly loved someone, they either were killed, captured, or just plain left. He had brief glimpses of happiness, and affection, and then they simply vanished. With Ice, however, it felt different, more true. It was these thoughts that had captured his attention, rendering him silent on their descent.*

*They entered the city, under the collapse of a tall, square-shaped building. It was leaning against another, across the street. The weak currents at this depth had allowed the toppled structure to stay as it was when whatever disaster occured, and the sub flowed quietly underneath. Turning the small craft down another main street, the floodlights fell upon the ruins of a massive temple. It was still standing, in pretty much normal condition. The pillars were marked with the insignia of the jedi, so it was obviously a temple devoted to the light.*

Beautiful, isnt it? We are assuming its one of the first Jedi temples ever constructed here, if not THE first. When I first arrived back here, after I was on Arkania for my conversion, I came here. It was soothing to see, relaxing. It calmed me. Ive not been back since then, but it seems to have the same effect.

*Adjusting the lights, the Jedi temple was massive. Pillars lined the entryway to the actual building itself. It was a marvel of ancient construction techniques, rivalling those in the city of Nystao, present day. Matango sat the little craft down amongst the pillars near the entrance, and killed the propulsion motors. it settled to the ground, and was quiet. He turned his attention back to the cute redhead.*

I suppose you have some questions for me about all that transpired back in the med bay, eh? Well, ask away. Not like there is anyone to interrupt us. Well, hold up.

*Adieumus reached down, and shut off the comlink, to guarantee privacy.*

Now, alone at last. What would you like to start off with, Mon amour d'ange?

*His icy blue eyes stared intently into Ice's, shimmering in the light reflecting from the outside floodlights, waiting to hear what she wished to know....*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*The questions came, rapid fire, in quick succession, and it took Adi by surprise. Ice was a real firecracker, and didnt seem to hold back one bit. A lot like himself, to be sure.

It made her all the more attractive. Brains, toughness, not to mention just downright cute as all hell, Ice had a complete package going for her, and Adi was hooked in by it all.*

Whoa, Ange, one thing at a time!

*Chuckling, he began to answer her. Some of the questions were easily explained, and answered. Others, not so much....*

Well, I can answer several of those questions at once. Honoghr and I go back about ten or eleven years. The New Republic had acquired it in some sort of trade, and the place was in shambles. An empire ship crashed here, with a chemical, meant to destroy Naboo. It hit here instead. It was basically a desert with a huge polluted ocean. I got here, and, as I always do, recruited the best of the best to take care of the planet, and get it back to where it once was. Nadia was one of those scientists that came here. We kinda...hit it off. It was really a good relationship. Short, to be sure, but very good. I was always away on New Republic business, and didnt see that she got pregnant about three months after we had gotten together. Not long after that, I went to Alderaan. When I got back, she was gone.

*As the memory of that day came back to him, a look of wispy sadness took away the goofy smile that was usually present on his face. He composed himself, and continued.*

I was going to propose when I returned. I guess it wasnt meant to be. But, out of that, came Eyam`e. I just met her, when Nadia returned a few months ago. In the med bay was the first time I had ever truly met her. When I saw her the first time, she was in an isolation chamber. She had been bitten by some kind of bug, and was in a stasis. Nadia found a plant here on Honoghr that was able to save her. All due to the efforts of the planet restoration.

*That out of the way, now to the harder questions, ones that he didnt necessarily want to answer...*

And you had asked what I am a Prince of? Thats kinda hard to answer, as the royal family I am attatched to is gone, save for me. I am a Prince of House Adasca, the royal family of Arkania. I lived there until I was eleven years old, as a fairly privileged young man, taught the Jedi ways. My contact and friendship with Arhiia began there, actually. We were very good friends, and our parents actually had decided that we would marry.

Until the day the Extermination came, that is. The entire royal family was killed, including some of the Concordias. My mother put me in a stasis, locked my memory away in a crystal to make sure I didnt fall into the hands of the extremists, and put me on a transport. I ended up on Tatooine, and was taught the dark ways by a sith named Darth Amaris. That, however, I will talk about another time, as I do not wish to bore you with the trivial details. I do believe you had one more question that I have not quite answered, however.

The question of how I know Master Concordia is....complicated, to say the least. As I mentioned, as children we were betrothed. We were very close, and trained together. That is why I have such aptitude in saber. She was quite the training partner. Anyway, about a year ago, she to Honoghr, seeking to learn more bout those beautiful EMP ships that we here are so famous for. It led to a...well, lets just say it ended up with me goin to the lightside, and becoming her Padawan.

*Adieumus closed his eyes as he remembered the long journey he had to make, almost entirely on his own, and without the guidance of a Master before he spoke the next words.*

I had actually fallen in love with her. I couldnt resist, it was just perfect between us, or so I had thought. She left me to face Dace Concordia, her own uncle, due to the fact that she cant face down family in a fight, and it was a betrayal I do not know if I can ever forgive her for. I respect her, as she is my Master. She is one of the finest Jedi in the galaxy, albeit a little dark. But I do not think that the damage could ever be repaired to the trust bond needed to love...

*Re-opening his eyes, and gazing back at the woman staring intently at him as he spun his tale, Adi smiled.*

You, however, have taken my heart like no other has, ange.

*He leaned in, reaching his left hand up, and put it on the back of Ice's head, feeling the tight, braided ponytail in his fingers. He closed his eyes, and kissed her, pressing his lips softly against hers.....*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*Hearing Ice say that to him sent a wave of emotions over Adi, sending him deeper into a torrent of feelings, deeper than the ocean above their heads. He was drowning, but never felt more alive....

It gave him an idea.

The minisub kept the internal cabin at a constant pressure. However, it also allowed the occupants to acclimate to the outside pressure, through a process of slowly levelling out the internal pressure during descent. They had been on the bottom for about an hour now, and a light on the panel lit up green, indicating that pressure had been equalized.

Time for some spelunking in the Jedi Temple...*

Ok, Ange, feel like a swim?

*Without giving her a chance to answer, he handed her a rebreather, grabbed one of his own, and cracked the hatch. Immediately, the small craft was fully flooded. It could be purged later, and the process of decompression could begin on the ascent. It would take a bit of time, but that was just more time to spend alone with Ice....*

*Offering his hand to her, as he swam out of the hatch, beckoning her to follow. He led her to the entrance of the underwater temple complex, swimming between the pillars, and up the stairway to the entrance. The large silver doors were open, inviting those that wished to enter, and marvel at the splendor held within.

Passing twenty foot statues of long-forgotten masters of the Jedi faith, carvings and busts, both male and female, and chandeliers floating in their eternal precarious dance with the mild current flowing through, Matango was impressed. This made the Academy topside look like a straw hut in comparison. The entrance hall alone could swallow half of the dry-land training academy. Turning a corner, and moving down a far more narrow off-shoot, they came upon a stairway leading up. A shimmering glow caught Adi's eye, and he looked back at Ice. She hadnt let go of his hand the entire way. It felt right to have it there, like it belonged......

Going up the steps, suddenly, Adi broke through, amazingly, a dry room. Dry in the sense that it wasnt flooded, an apparent air bubble in the temple that had never filled. It was strange to find a place, this deep under the ocean, with breathable air, and not filled with water. Adi took the rebreather from his mouth, and took a breath. The air was clean, crisp, and smelled fresh.*

Well, THIS is interesting. Wonder how this one room stayed dry...odd.

*The furniture in the room was elegantly simple, harkening back to an era of true enlightenment. The desk seemed to be the focal point of the entire room, various tablets still strewn about, now fairly well illegible, but still intact. A small sitting area to the left of the desk had a fire ring in the middle of it, the remnants of many a cold night spent here still evident from the blackened ceiling. In sheer awe, Adi looked at this snapshot of the past. He had felt the light the entire time they had been inside the complex, but it seemed to be much stronger here.*

You realize we are probably looking thousands of years into the past here, Ange? This is unbelieveable!!

*Adi walked back over to Ice, and took her into his arms, holding her tight to him. Here they were, in essence, standing in the past, and the only thing Matango could think of was her. This was the find of the millenia, and he simply wanted to hold this gorgeous woman that was rapidly robbing him of his sanity...*

Re: L'Angele Noir Beach Villa-Faction vaction retreat

*The light was rewarding him....

...It had to be. This was the most perfect feeling in the world, Ice softly nestled in his arms, sending chills up Adi's spine. How she had just kind of "appeared" outside of the bacta tank, or why, he probably would never know. It was obvious, though, that the attraction had been immediate, and powerful.

It had him trapped in its gravity, and wouldnt let go....

To forget the past, and live in the moment, a concept that Adieumus had not had the luxury of over the past year or so. It seemed like all he did REVOLVED around the past. To live in the moment was foreign to him at this point. He knew one thing, however...

He held the future in his arms.*

If thats how you wish it to be, then it shall be, Ange. And this moment? Lets make it ours, shall we?

*Leaning away from Ice, just enough to get his right hand under her chin, to bring her face up to look at him, he smiled. His blue eyes were sparkling like 2 sapphires, he could feel it. He leaned in, kissing her gently, deeply, passonately, further fueling the raging fire inside Adieumus' heart and soul.

It was consuming him completely, and he wasnt going to resist.*
