Academy Main Building

*The Main buildings Duelist circle is something of the buildings teaching room, gym, and armory combined. Located on the first floor, the Duelists circle is a large circular slab of stone approximately twelve meters in diameter, with the stone being divided itself into three four meter wide concentric rings. The rings themselves are raised one meter off the ground, thus forming the stage. Situated in a large room, the circle is located in the exact center of the room, with a large training area consisting of strung ropes and obstacles dominating the north wall, a shooting range (for weapons and force powers) inset into the south wall, meditation mats and large holo-panels for teaching on the East, and lastly; a small repair shop consisting of a repair bench, spanners, fusion welders, and even a primitive forge sits on the west wall.

The Duelists circle is the heart and soul of the academy. Nearly all training, repair, teaching, and all other manner of work pertaining to the use and upkeep up duels thrives in this room.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Andrew walked into the duelists circle at least what he thought was it since this place looked the most like a place where well where people would duel. As he entered the room he slowly made his way up onto the stage area though he was looking all around as he did. Then when he got to the middle of the stage he walked in a small circle just to get a full view of the entire room.

It was impresive this place had so many things inside of it and all of it had something to do with dueling in some sort of way. There were obsitcal courses, a shooting range, a place for meditation and even a repair station with everything they would need to upkeep their weapons. This room was like heaven to Andrew everything he could possibly think of ever wanting to do with all his time located in one room. Now if only there was someone to fight then his day would be complete and he could say he was much happier than when he had made his way to this place.*

*Just as Andrew had gotten to the middle of the room, Kirus had walked inside. He leaned back against the wall next to the entrance to the room, seemingly staring at Andrew, but his covered face making it impossible to tell. He crossed his arms looking around properly briefly, before turning his head back to face Andrew. He could tell the man was a fight junkie, just from the way he acted in the room. Kirus let his hands drop, resting in their usual position, on the end of the hilt of his two swords, which hung from his waist.*

*Just as Andrew was looking around the place and thinking he was going to like it here he noticed another person walk into the duelist circle. This guy was of the usual stranger kind of look to him with the whole hood covering his face it was something Andrew had seen a thousand times over. Either way he was probably going to be another student here so why not try and speak to him it was probably better to get to know the other people.*

Hello there you also going to be a student here? *Andrew waved over at the man as he spoke even though it was probably obviouse that he was talking to him since he was the only other person in here.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Never one for actual speech, Kirus simply nodded to man in answer to his question. He could tell by the man's reaction that he was no stranger to kirus' appearance, but that was what Kirus was aiming for. Blending. As long as no-one knew who or what he was, then Kirus was satisfied. His fingers flexed as his palms rested on his swords, always ready to fight at a moments notice. It would be the subtle movements of his hands that would alert Andrew to to the bandages covering all of his hands, wrapping tightly like a second skin around them. The bandages seemed to right up into the rest of his outfit, making Kirus seem like either a walking mummy, or someone recovering from horrific burns or the like. However his movements betrayed his health, he wasn't injured at all. The faceless black silk mask covering his face let none of his features show, except the bright red eyes, shining like a supernova in space. The eyes wear practically scanning Andrew, taking in every tiny minuscule detail about him, allowing Kirus to analyze the build and state of the man before him.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Andrew watched as the man just nodded to him and never said anything which was ok sure maybe he was just the quiet type nothing out of the ordinary. Then he flexed his fingers and rested his hands on his swords which again said a lot about him. This guy was clearly a fighter probably more of a swordsman than anything which was fine and he was probably very confident in his skills too which would probably mean he was already fairly skilled with his blades.

Now the only thing that Andrew didn├óÔé¼Ôäót understand was why on earth might he be covered in bandages then again he could only tell that possibly only his hands were but still why? Now another strange thing was that he had glowing red eyes which immediately made him think of the darkside as it could have some strange effects on the body and that would also explain the bandages. The only problem was that he really couldn├óÔé¼Ôäót sense anything dark about him.

So basically what Andrew as looking at was a guy who was trying to act like everyone else but made it obvious that he was hiding something from the way he dressed. Not to mention he was the typical badass type which was probably the only thin Andrew liked about the guy. So in response to just getting a nod out of him Andrew just shrugged his shoulders and continued to look around.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*It was when Andrew started to look around again that Kirus became intrigued. He had half-expected the man to ask him to a sparring match, judging from Andrew's glee at the area. Leaning forwards off the wal, Kirus made his way up to where Andrew was. As he approached, Kirus unsheathed on of his swords, holding it hilt forward in a sort of loose back hand grip. He inclined his sword to Andrew. Even the most inexperienced fighter would be able to tell that this was an offer to fight. Kirus' interest in Andrew had grown, making him curious to see how well the man could wield a blade. Before Andrew had the chance to take the sword, Kirus simply let it drop, impaling it vertically into the arena floor, dead centre of the room. He then walked away, about ten paces, before turning back to Andrew, unsheathing his other, identical sword and holding it centrally in front of him like it was a walking stick of some kind, hands one on top of the other balanced on the end of the hilt. He awaited Andrew's reply.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*There had been a slight complication. On the way tot he duelists circle, after briefly speaking to his new students, Dante had been just entering the facility when Azazel had run up to him, and explained that a woman needed severe medical attention. Both of the men practiced medicine, but it was no secret that Azazel was used to field medicine, and Dante was a surgeon, quickly Dante had made the call; Azazel would be the one to evaluate the students, while Dante attended tot he woman's wounds in the operating room.*

*As such, it was Azazel, and not Dante that slowly walked into the Duelists circle. Silently, he watched the two interact with each other, and raised an eyebrow indeed when one invited the other to duel.

Silently, he leaned back against the wall, content to watch. He was here after all, to evaluate. And these two, fighting each other, would indeed do their best. After the bout was over, or Azazel was satisfied as to their evaluation, he would either let the duel carry out, or end it.*

*As such, he looked on with extreme fascination.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Walking to the duel area, Rhevenge took his time, scenting as much of the building as he could without veering off course. As he walked in, he saw that the one who had killed the Great Wyrm was with someone else, apparently about to fight.

Sniffing the air, he found that he was not alone with the pair of combatants. After looking over at the other spectator he found a nice comfortable patch of floor to watch the fight from, not worrying about anyone attempting to attack him.

If someone could get past both his nose and ears, they deserved to be able to kill him..... Or at least try to.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Draythos started to walk around the academy since he was told to leave the med center and he was sure it was going to be a while before he could go see Damillia again. So he just walked around looking to see if he could find anything interesting. He eventually came to a room that already had several people in it one of them being Azazel. Then there were two people in the middle on a more raised part of the room kind of like an arena and it looked like they were about to fight each other. Now this caught his interest so he thought he would stick around and watch until Damillia was better.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*As Andrew as looking around again he was no longer looking at the man who had seemed to rather be quiet than talk so he only noticed the him when he heard Kirus walking up behind him. It was then Andrew started to become interested in the man as he pulled out a sword and seemed to be offering it to him in a way of challenging him to a duel. Andrew was about to take the sword when the man stabbed it into the center of the arena and then walked away. Andrew pulled it out and looked the blade over even running his hand along it as he admired the craftsmanship that had gone into making it.

It was sure a nice bade but much different than his own because Andrew used a long sword and had a great sword on his back. This one was styled as a blade known as a katana one could tell from how it was only sharp on one side of it. Sure it was different but the rules for fighting were still basically the same just that to cause any damage you would have to use one side only or stab the person. So with this in mind Andrew got into a ready stance with his left foot in front of his right foot and held the sword out in front of him with both hands.*

*Taking Andrews stance as an acceptance of the challenge, Kirus took his other katana and held it in a back hand position, crouching low, as if ready to lunge and swipe his sword at Andrew at any moment. He signals for Andrew to make the first move.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Hmm so this guy fights in a reverse grip instead of the traditional way of holding a sword that was interesting. This also could mean that he was fairly fast maybe even preferred to go on the defensive when fighting an also possibility was that he could flip the sword around fairly easily too so he could be well trained in both ways of sword fighting. Basically this was going to be interesting and he was going to enjoy this a lot and more than likely he was going to hurt after this.*

*Andrew first took a deep breath and only slip his feet a little farther instead of charging at him. Once several minutes went by Andrew finally tilted the sword downwards so that the tip of the blade would be pointing at the ground and then moved it so it would be at his side. Then suddenly he began to run at Kirus and it would look almost as if he was dragging the blade along the ground but he was actually keeping it several inches from it. Then as he was running he slowly started to bring the blade until it was pointing straight up into the air and it would look as if he was just going to do an overhand swing using the speed he had gathered to increase the strength of the blow.

That was only the trick because when he was close enough and he was raising the blade over his head he suddenly jumped over Kirus or more like he was spinning over Kirus. He had made his body go sideways in the air and from there he made the blade move with him in the direction he was spinning in so that the blade would either hit Kirus in the back of the head or would be blocked by Kirus raising his blade over his head.

Then once he had landed behind Kirus he would land in a crouch and would immediately go into another spin on his feet. This time he also made the blade move with his body but since Kirus was in a low crouch the blade would probably hit his lower back if it actually hit him.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Kirus pivoted on his left foot, rotating anti-clockwise to avoid Andrew's first strike. Using the momentum from the pivot, Kirus brought the back of his blade hard and fast towards Andrew's back, aiming impact to be just as Andrew landed.*
*The guy had spirit, that Kirus didn't deny, but his technique showed that he wasn't too used to such a small lightweight sword. So as to make this a fairer fight, Kirus wasn't moving at full speed, but it was still fast enough for there to be a slight after image of his sword as he swung.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Ok so this was a problem he missed and the guy was turning to meet him as he would land so that would put him at a serious disadvantage. So now he would have to think quickly and he meant quickly or he would have a nice new scratch on his back.*

*So When Andrew landed he would land with one leg stretched out more than the other and he would place most of his weight on the foot that was directly under him. Then instead of going with the attack he had wanted to go with after landing he lifted the sword behind his back to stop Kirus├óÔé¼Ôäós blade. Right after he did that he would spin his outstretched leg to try and sweep Kirus off his feet and as he came to face him he would bring his sword down on him in a over hand strike.*

*Andrew had to admit this guy was fast but that would also mean he probably wasn't as stron as Andrew was because he had focused more on strength to be able to weild his greatsword like an ordinary long sword. Though he did like tha after image effect his blade made that was a cool trick and who knows maybe after sparring with this guy enough he might learn to be faster with his sword fighting.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Behind his mask, Kirus was smirking. His opponent wasn't an idiot, despite jumping at him without knowing what Kirus was capable of.*

*Using the momentum he had built from his spin, Kirus' blade made contact with Andrew's block. Andrew would find that Kirus was stronger than first thought, his blade impacting against Andrew's, pushing it against his back. Also using that same momentum and the power in his swing, Kirus pushed himself back, jumping a fair few feet back, narrowly avoiding the leg sweep from his opponent. Once Kirus had landed, he stared at his opponent. While staring at Andrew, not showing his back, Kirus slashed a straight line, parallel to his back, behind him with his sword, before adopting his crouched stance again, this time blade pointing directly at Andrew, the fingers of his left hand holding his his blade between them, right foot back against the line.*

*By doing this, Kirus was basically saying to Andrew that if he could make Kirus put even a toe over the line, then Andrew would win this bout.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Luckily for Andrew he still had his great sword on his back so he really didn├óÔé¼Ôäót feel much of the sword being pressed up against it. Though he was a bit disappointed that his attacks still only hit air but that was suggesting that this guy knew what he was doing and was possibly very fast maybe even faster than he was moving since he still had no need to block and attacks. Now he was offering up some kind of challenge which was never a good thing since he was probably very good at what he had just dared Andrew to do. Then again a challenge was a challenge and if he didn├óÔé¼Ôäót do it the first time then he would have something to work on.*

*Andrew slowly made his way closer to Kirus being ever careful and once he was the proper distance away he swung his blade in a diagonal upwards from his left to right so it would go from Kirus hip to his shoulder. This he wasn├óÔé¼Ôäót intending to actually hit Kirus and was almost expecting a counter attack or move since that seemed to be what he favoured doing over blocking. So he had planned ahead for this and had several plans forming in his head for possible moves that Kirus might make.

First off if Kirus dodged to Andrew├óÔé¼Ôäós right which would his left Andrew would kick out at him the minute he jumped or rolled whatever he might do. This would prevent him from escaping that way and he already knew that he couldn├óÔé¼Ôäót go back because his foot was against the line so that was already out of the question.

Andrew also knew that he couldn├óÔé¼Ôäót duck under the blade because they both were already in a crouched position and that would just leave him vulnerable to an attack from a slight adjustment to the direction of his blade so he as sure most people wouldn├óÔé¼Ôäót risk it. There was also the fact that he couldn├óÔé¼Ôäót dodge in the direction the blade was coming from because well he would be going right into the blade and that would just be stupid.

Finally if he attempted to try and jump over Andrew he would follow him with his blade and right when he would plan on landing Andrew would stab the blade behind him stabbing Kirus in the back or in the stomach. Now if he actually decided to block the blade Andrew would lock blades with him and begin to force him backwards where he would then kick out with his left foot to trip him and force him back over the line. He knew Kirus wouldn├óÔé¼Ôäót be able to stop the kick because his sword would be in the way and if he attempted to jump over his leg well that would be to easy to just force him back over the line.*

*Basically Andrew had most areas of escape planned for and each plan he was able to adjust from one to the other for whatever random event might happen. He also knew there were many unknowns in this plan because there many things Kirus could do and it was impossible to plan for them all. The point to this was at least Andrew would have tried his best even thinking ahead for several moves and that was all anyone could ask for.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Interesting. That was what Kirus was thinking at that point in time. Despite not being so skilled in use of Kirus's blade, Andrew was managing rather well. If things kept up at this rate, Kirus might just have to get serious, and that wouldn't bode too well for either of them.*

*As Andrew went on the attack, Kirus rolled forwards, bending his arms as his blade met Andrew's. As soon as the two blades made contact, Kirus extended his arms, practically rolling over Andrew. Never one for fighting while jumping, Kirus uses the momentum of his roll to bring his legs round, aiming to grab Andrew round the neck from behind and fling him either up or over Kirus and back. Being prepared for most things, Kirus had one hand free, intending to use it to vault himself away if Andrew somehow managed to kick behind him towards Kirus if his current attempt at flinging Andrew failed.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*As he had expected Kirus had done one of the things Andrew had planned on him doing and that was Kirus going over him. Now what he hadn├óÔé¼Ôäót planned for was him wrapping his legs around his neck but it was obvious what he would try to do and well Andrew quickly had a plan for that. As Andrew had originally thought back to was that the man had focused a great deal on being fast and of course to be extremely fast without the force would require a great deal of strength. Now the only problem with that is Andrew had focused on strength a since the strength Kirus had was probably just a bonus from trying to be fast well technically Andrew would still beat him in a contest of strength.

It was this small fact that he hoped to use against Kirus but that was assuming he was right which there plenty of room that he could be wrong was the only problem. He also knew that his next move would probably cost him an actual fight but they weren├óÔé¼Ôäót in one and Kirus had basically challenged Andrew to get him over that line. So now that was what Andrew was going to focus entirely on and nothing else would matter though he made a note to himself to never do this again.*

*When Kirus jumped over Andrew he would right then drop his blade as he did so it would be around time when Kirus was wrapping his legs around Andrew├óÔé¼Ôäós neck. Now Andrew knew what he had done was already a stupid move as you should never drop your weapon when in a fight but the next move would probably just confuse anyone watching.

Once Kirus wrapped his legs around Andrew├óÔé¼Ôäós neck he would grab Kirus├óÔé¼Ôäós legs and before Kirus could use the momentum he would have gathered Andrew threw his entire weight into rolling forward. Now the plan would be to catch Kirus before he could finish his roll and have the upper hand with momentum and thus as Andrew would roll forward jumping into it with what strength he had in his legs then throwing all his weight into the movement.

If he succeeded he would land on Kirus as he rolled which would probably hurt but do nothing serious to him. The problem was if he failed well they would just land on each other but the good part was Andrew should at least get Kirus past the line he had made but probably only by inches. Doing this was a big gamble and a test of skill and strength and much of his success would depend on him being right about Kirus or him just not screwing up.*

Re: Academy Main Building: Duelists Circle

*Noticing at the last possible moment Andrew dropping his weapon, Kirus' instincts flared, causing his body to twist and retract his legs suddenly, like an extremely tight elastic band, narrowly avoiding Andrew's grasp. Using this to his advantage, he sprung his legs back towards Andrew's back, hoping to push him forward while he rolled away. If this worked, he'd roll back to his feet and pivot round to face Andrew, hating to show his back to an opponent.*

*From these few exchanges, Kirus now knew that he couldn't hold back any longer. The time for ability testing was over, now to try and end this.*

*Kirus stood sideways on to Andrew, left side of his body toward him. He held his sword loosely in his right hand, holding the end between his index and middle fingers and his thumb, letting it swing softly like a pendulum, speed gradually getting faster. Kirus' eyes were trained on Andrew, focusing on every minute detail for movement, even a twitch of a muscle. To Andrew, it would seem like Kirus was staring deep into his soul, exposing every inch of Andrew's being.*
