Re: Open Terrain

*The numbers of the troopers continued to dwindle to the point the Imperial troops began to think this fight was hopeless. That would not stop them from fighting to the death, but it certainly hung over the remaining troops like a cloud, their morale sinking to dangerously low levels. They would lose this outpost, and the reinforcements would be similarly outmatched, whenever they would arrive.

And just then, the shuttles appeared in the sky. Racing towards the surface, they fired towards the ground in an attempt to scare away the enemies long enough to land their forces. They swooped low, coming to a halt just within reach of the outpost. Several troops leapt out of the vessels, not quite replenishing the number of what was already at the outpost, but enough to put up a resistance.

Out of the lead craft emerged a new figure, a Rodian in black clothing. He wore the Rodian equivalent of a smirk as he stepped forward, holding a metal rod in his hand. At the trigger of a switch, the rod emitted a long, nine-foot beam of red energy that lashed and curled outward. He stood still, then commanded his troops to charge. As they ran forward and began to fire, the Rodian remained where he stood, watching over the battle, intending to pick out an opportunity to insert himself and tear through whatever these forces were that had attacked the outpost here...*

Re: Open Terrain

*A shuttle dropped from the sky coming close to the battle, the engines of the ship roaring as they neared the ground. The Shi'Ido army retreated away from where the ship was landing but continued to fight elsewhere.*

*Xantos stared up as he saw the shuttle coming down, his mind adjusted to a new plan, reinforcements were here, and how the battle had to change. The Force Sensitive Shi'Ido felt a sudden vibe in his gut and mind as the shuttle dropped troops off leaving behind a dark cloaked creature wearing a Rodian smirk on Its face. Xantos observed the red blade protrude in almost slow motion as he thought over the problems. *Can't let this guy get into the fight with the soldiers, that would not be helpful to my army, I'll have to hold him off here myself* Xantos dropped a barrier like steel around his mind so that his moves could not be read from his mind and raised a wall of rock around him and the Rodian, leaving them alone in a arena like clearing.*

*Xantos drew his swords and began walking towards the left, circling the Rodian aiming his right hand and blade at the Rodian*
So, the Empire finally sends someone to try and save this little outpost? heh, do you really think you can take this planet? Do you even know who protects this planet? *Xantos stopped about ten feet from the Rodian's right side and grinned* Aerandir Calmcacil... and I highly doubt your gonna be able to take it from him...

*With that Xantos spun the swords in his hands and stopped them in a defensive position preparing for any attack, a light layer of fog formed within the arena making it slightly harder to see for now.*

Your move... Sith Scum....

Re: Open Terrain

*Gran watched as the attacking forces scattered. Shapeshifters of some kind, a late report had told. This might actually be interesting. And, as luck would have it, one such creature appeared before Gran, looking eager to challenge him. The Rodian sneered, but then looked around him in surprise as, suddenly, a wall of rock erupted around them. So, this one had manipulation of nature. Interesting. Perhaps the fight would actually be fun.

Whoever this was, he seemed favorable of taunts. Did Gran know who protected the planet? Of course he did. They had come to kill him after all. As far as this combatant being doubtful that they could take it from him? Certainly the forces on the world were putting up a good fight, but they were outnumbered in orbit. And now the Sith were here to even the odds. Whoever this challenger was, he had a lot to learn.*

*As he spoke, the Rodian dialed his weapon down to a low-intensity beam with a subtle gesture of his thumb. The beam flashed for only a moment before taking on a more translucent form as it whipped through the air, aiming for the challenger's wrist, intending to grip it and disarm him.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Many miles away from any known point of civilization on Belkadan, a red-painted Venator-class Star Destroyer sat idle upon the surface of Belkadan, a massive fold in the ground trailing behind it for as far as it had slid across the surface. The ship's bow and underside were covered in dirt, mud, and even some leaves, while smoke billowed from one of the ship's engine cores.

Aboard the ship, people were scrambling to assess the damage so they knew what kind of repairs the ship needed. Meanwhile, on the bridge, slumped unceremoniously in the chair he had been tossed into, a red-skinned man say unconsciously, having passed out several hours ago. Suddenly, he came to with a jerk and a gasp, looking around in a panic, clinging to the back of the chair before relaxing with a sigh, looking around the bridge.*

So... we're alive?
*Eggs had been ignoring the unconscious Bacon's presence until he heard the gasp, turning to look at him while trying to avoid rolling his eyes. How the man could be so clueless yet in charge of a restaurant and an entire ship escaped him.*

*Bacon's eyes widened.*
Really? Fantastic! This means we can return to our restaurant and get back to work immediately while the Baconator is repaired!
*Now Eggs did roll his eyes, but Bacon didn't notice, dragging him along to the hangar, where his shuttle was intact, as well as the safe and other supplies Bacon had hauled with him from the restaurant. While the technicians and repair crew of the ship began what repairs they could while also preparing to request ship parts for what they could not fix on their own, Bacon's shuttle left the Venator's hangar, sailing over the terrain towards Kodeiv.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Cleanup in the terrain was perhaps the most tedious, as damage was not contained to one area. It could have been worse, due to the miles-long groove carved out by Darth Bacon's Star Destroyer, but this was decided to be left alone, as a landmark and a reminder of the... quite unorthodox way the ship had taken out the majority of the Earth Empire's forces that were in its wake. Eventually grass grew in this groove, making it seem a natural formation, though hidden away by the jungle. If one looked closely enough from a high vantage point, they may be able to spot the path of the groove, but as trees regrew, it eventually became partially obscured once more. But soon once again, the terrain was completely teeming with live, cognizant no longer of the death and destruction that had taken place here.*
