Re: Open Terrain

*Morgan's confidence had started off pretty strongly, but was beginning to diminish little by little as she progressed through the jungle. On Felucia, she felt comfortable, she felt at home, and even if she hadn't known her own way, she still had that guiding presence within her. Here, she felt lost and alone. This was strange territory, and, while the land was steeped in the Force, it wasn't as rich as Felucia; it wasn't living like her mother.

Still, she managed to press on and not become discouraged; giving up would mean death out here. Wherever here was. She still couldn't shake the thought that there was something familiar about this place, it was just hard to determine what that was. She'd probably just seen holos and images of it before, and just couldn't remember its name. Maybe if and when she found a civilization, she'd find that out.

A glooping sound and a gasp accompanied a misstep as Morgan's right foot sunk into a small puddle of muddy water about a foot deep. She withdrew her leg, shaking her foot off as much as she could with a soft noise of disgust. Now the inside of her shoe felt all squishy. But at least it wasn't a deeper puddle and she hadn't fallen all the way in.

The fauna at this point had been limited to flying creatures and insects... very pesky insects. They mostly just flitted about and only a couple got really close to her so as to cause her disturbance. But one particular group seemed to take special attention to her, swarming about her face and obstructing her vision. She batted around at the air, trying to get them to disperse, to no avail. At this point she had groaned, shut her eyes, and tapped into the Force. She drew energy from it, holding her hands to either side of her. Then she thrust them upward, directly into the group of insects.

She opened her eyes and looked up to see a ball of many black specks hurtling towards the sky, before dispersing many feet in the air. Not wanting to give them time to recover and come after her again, she darted off further into the woods. She obviously must have run far enough, for the bugs didn't return. Maybe next time she'd just use her lightsaber as a makeshift bug-zapper... In fact, why hadn't she tried that in the first place?

Onward she went through the woods, eventually coming out into a clearing. In the middle was a tree, and in its branches was a nest of some kind, drooping towards the ground. It seemed to be made out of mud and vines, and Morgan could clearly see eggs in it. She was suddenly curious to see what kind of bird this nest belonged to. She was also hungry... she hadn't eaten since before the ship took off, and that had been quite a long fight. And she had already been walking around for a while... Yeah, it was time to eat.

Morgan slung the bag from over her shoulders and sat down on the ground against a nearby tree, not the one that had the nest in it. She opened the satchel and plucked a ration bar from inside, then zipped the bag up again and peeled back the wrapper. She took a bite of it, then nearly cringed at the bland taste. But it was all she would be getting until she could get out of here, so she had to deal with it.

So she sat on the ground, leaning against the tree while she slowly nibbled the bar, looking about at the woods and often glancing at the nest. This place was... definitely interesting. It wasn't very pretty, but it had its own sort of beauty about it. Certainly not as beautiful as Felucia, or even Belkadan, but a change of scenery on occasion was nice. It allowed her to appreciate Felucia even more.

There were fewer sounds here. The occasional bird call, chirp, or croak made their way to her ears, but otherwise, the noise level was much reduced here than anywhere else. Much more peaceful here├óÔé¼ÔÇØ A sudden screech made Morgan instantly alert, jumping to her feet, looking about for the sound. There, gliding through the trees, something headed for the next. A... flying rodent? Well, not that those were uncommon, but this one looked... very strange. That was what made that nest here? Morgan was starting to regret waiting around to see it├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

Wait a minute. "Rodents don't lay eggs," she reminded herself. Then her eyes widened; this thing was trying to attack the nest!*

NO!
*She ran forward, her scream causing the creature to look down at her as it landed, stalling its attempt to get into the nest. It peered at her angrily, then hissed. Morgan didn't care; she wasn't about to let this thing disturb this nest.*
You're not getting those eggs!
*It didn't seem impressed at her. In fact, it began to ignore her and started investigating the nest. Morgan glared at it but was instantly moving, sliding the ration bar into a pocket and climbing up the tree with ease. Reaching the branch that the nest was located on, she started to shimmy along it just as the creature was inspecting an egg up close. Seeing her approach, it released it, planting all four appendages on the nest and screeching angrily at her. Morgan didn't look fazed; she was giving the creature a death glare.*
Those eggs don't belong to you!
*The rodent took a step forward and took a swipe in her direction, merely to intimidate rather than actually attack. Morgan only slightly flinched, then decided she had her own intimidation tactic. Sitting up, she removed her lightsaber from her belt, pointed the emitter end above the rodent, and activated it. The green beam flashed to life, causing the rodent to flinch and stare up at it in shock, awe, and fear. It started, then it quickly turned away and glided off, clearly frightened by the weapon. Morgan breathed a sigh of relief, deactivating the beam and clipping it back to her belt.

Suddenly, rustling. Morgan gasped and looked about to see another winged creature land on the branch between her and the nest. Morgan stared at it, wondering if it was another predator. But it wasn't attacking the nest, nor her. It just sat there, peering at her through beady eyes. It was some kind of reptilian bird, with a large beak and a tuft of hair upon its head. It honestly looked kind of silly. But this must have been the mother of the nest. Morgan couldn't really tell, but it seemed to be looking at her gratefully. This caused Morgan to smile.*

Hey, it's no problem! There was no way I'd let that ugly thing get your eggs!
*The reptile-bird then nodded, and even chirped as though it understood what she was saying. Morgan found herself wishing she had something to give it as a treat or something. All she had was the ration bar, but it was worth a shot. She pulled it out of her pocket, peeled back the wrapper, and then held it out towards the reptile-bird as though offering it. The creature peered at it, leaned forward to sniff at it, then carefully extended its beak and plucked a piece off of it. It attempted to chew it, then, after a noise that sounded like a mixture of gagging and squawking, it spat it out towards the ground. Morgan stared at first, then started to giggle.*
It's okay, I don't think they taste that good either.
*The bird-reptile thing looked at her again, then nodded once more. Morgan was amazed at its apparent intelligence, but then she suddenly became aware of something in her mind: This bird had a somewhat stronger presence in the Force compared to most animals. That was rather interesting; was that how it was understanding her? Morgan blinked, then looked around for a moment before returning her gaze to the bird.*
Well, I gotta go find someone so I can get outta here and go home. Good luck with your nest, little guy!
*As Morgan pocketed the ration bar again and started to scoot backwards along the branch so she could climb back down, she suddenly felt something touch her mind, and she heard two words: "Thank you." Morgan stopped with a gasp and stared at the bird. That... was surprising. And a bit touching as well. Morgan smiled at it once more.*
You're welcome! I was happy to help.
*The bird nodded once more, then entered its nest. Morgan watched in amazement for a moment, then continued her motion, swinging her leg over the branch and descending the tree. Once back on the ground, she walked over to her satchel, picked it up, slung it over her shoulders again, then headed off in another direction, pulling the ration bar out of her pocket and finishing it off. At least the bird had shared her opinion on these things...

After finishing it, she crumpled up the wrapper and stuffed it into a side pocket on the satchel. She wasn't quite thirsty yet, so she decided to save the water for now. She turned at the waist as she walked to look in the direction she had come from, where the reptile-bird's nest was. She hoped it stayed safe and that the eggs would hatch fine and grow into adult birds one day. And that rodent thing that tried to attack the nest was really ugly...

On and on Morgan trekked, finding no trace of any sort of nearby civilization. Hopefully that just meant it was a large jungle... Felucia's jungle was very large after all, and civilization was separated by a very large gap of nature. She'd find some civilization somewhere... eventually. It would just... take a long walk. Yeah, that was it. She├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

A presence entered the edge of her range of sense. She stopped, her heart skipping a beat. Was there at last someone out here that she could talk to, someone that could possibly help her towards civilization and get her off of this planet? Oh she hoped so dearly. A smile came to her lips, her eyes twinkling hopefully as she ran towards the origin of the presence, but she slipped and fell forward onto the damp, muddy ground.*

Ugh...
*She quickly pushed herself up to her knees, examining herself. Not too muddy... just a few streaks on her shirt, skirt, arms, and palms. She wiped her palms together, then rubbed her chin on the back of her hand, removing a small bit of mud from it. Seeing that wiping her palms together did little to help her, she reluctantly wiped them on the back of her skirt. Then she set off again, this time hopefully more carefully.

The presence started to come into fuller focus. It wasn't moving. It was... still, as though resting. Someone was asleep out here? Camper, maybe? Well, if that were the case, they'd at least know the land. That gave her more hope as she slowly closed in, but the closer she got, the more she learned. The presence was, for one thing, vaguely familiar somehow. Very vaguely. Like a face she had glimpsed before but couldn't quite name where it was she had seen it. As she approached closer, there was more to it... a darkness, of a sort.

She came to a full stop, staring off into the distance. "Not a Sith," she pleaded gently in her thoughts. "No..." But that was just her initial reaction; as she examined it more closely, the darkness wasn't quite a defining characteristic. It was there, certainly, but it was not all that was there. Now she was uncertain if she should pursue the presence further, but she was all alone out here and it may have been her only choice, much as she didn't like it.

She took a deep breath, exhaled, then set her face in determination, deciding that it was worth the risk. She set off, continuing to follow the presence. Eventually, she found herself near a larger body of water. Something about it was... not pleasant, nor inviting, so she steered clear of it. There was something about that water she didn't like... something within? She didn't even want to investigate to find out.

And soon, Morgan spotted the presence she felt: A girl, a young woman, leaning against a tree, asleep. She was wearing a blindfold... Was that one of those silly things some people did when they went to sleep, or... She knew of at least one other being who wore a blindfold, and that was Atuna. He was a Miraluka, a species that didn't have eyes and instead saw through Force sight. Maybe this girl was a Miraluka? Hopefully that was the case...

Morgan's steps were starting to slow, for the closer she got, the more she could feel the strands of darkness coiling outwards from the girl's presence. It was making her uncomfortable; she even shivered once or twice. But this was Morgan's only shot at escaping├óÔé¼ÔÇØ Was that blood on her leg? On her face? Morgan's eyes widened. What happened to her? Was she attacked? She was alive... and her presence didn't seem weak at all. Either way, in case the injury might be serious├óÔé¼ÔÇØshe recalled that open wounds could become infected on Felucia, so maybe the same was true here├óÔé¼ÔÇØshe would have to act quickly, treat it with her medpac and hope she was grateful enough to help her find a way home.*

Miss!
*She wasn't sure how to address the woman, so the generic title would have to do. She ran towards her, then, once she was close enough, fell to her knees beside her.*
Miss! Wake up!
*Morgan started to reach forward, as though to attempt to rouse her by shaking her, but then stopped. There... was some strange source of darkness upon this girl. Not within her, as she had originally believed. It wafted from somewhere upon her person, enough to make her shiver and instinctively scoot backwards a bit. That... was a very strange sensation. And she wasn't sure she liked it.

And now that she was up close, she could see the injuries in much greater detail; several bloody holes along her leg, dried blood on her face, and Morgan thought she could see a bruise forming just under the neckline of her shirt. Just what had she been through... ? Looking at the woman's face, Morgan attempted to verbally arouse her again, only this time, her voice was much softer, and far more concerned.*

Miss... ? Are you okay?
*She wasn't sure she would even have heard that if her other words hadn't made her stir yet. Morgan was starting to feel even more uncomfortable, but... not with her, strangely. It was the source of the darkness that Morgan felt chills from. It... didn't exactly frighten her, but it was certainly unpleasant. She was starting to have second thoughts about this, but no; this girl was her only chance so far at finding a safe way home. Morgan just would have to deal with it, and if something bad resulted from this, she would have felt a warning from the Force by now. And she felt none.*

Re: Open Terrain

MIss!!!

The voice was far too loud for Anna's taste, and then, after a few seconds delay, she actually heard it. When the kriff would fate stop playing with her mind. Anna muttered something under her breath as Morgan spoke to her, as if she were irritated at something or angry. The dagger quavered, speaking of threat, putting the Seer on edge. And it just so happened that Morgan did more than shout at the sleeping figure. She actually walked closer to her.

Perhaps that voice was not actually so childlike. Perhaps it was some strange contortion the darkside was apt to do. Maybe it was another predator and she'd changed it in her own sleep. Perhaps it would injure her. Everything tended to do that thees days. If she never woke up again, then there would be so many stories untold, so many tasks undone. No, Anna wouldn't die, but she most certainly could be attacked, harmed, enslaved.

That was it. Anna didn't need anymore provocation.

Enslavement....

The darkened word dripped with venom as the dagger pushed it into her mind, and Anna moved with all the fluidity of a Nish. Leaping to her feet, her right hand swung around, the force guiding her aim perfectly to catch the crouching Morgan in the shoulder strongly to send her tumbling to her right. With out pause, Anna's left knee rose to meet the tumbling figure in her lower right rib cage, and then remain there, hopefully pinning Morgan to the ground, back first. Anna's knee quickly moved outward to Morgan's right, in order to hopefully pin the unknown being's right arm under it. And she followed up with her right knee, slamming down firmly on Morgan's left arm, depending on if all of this went well.

It should. She did it all subconsciously, and all within a matter of seconds.

As she preformed this action, her right hand was already moving to her cloven combat knife, it's sharp, two bladed end held dangerously at the child's neck. The seer's mask was soaked with muddy water, that probably left dried trails of dirt on her face. The thick jagged scars peaking out from under the messy blindfold would probably not be a welcomed sight. Her hair was a mess, and her expression was more threatening than terrified. Hardly anything frightened the girl anymore. Unwavering, and with no eyes, no windows to the soul that Morgan could probe with her own innocent green ones.

And that's when Anna figured out who had wakened her. Also, that was when the extreme wave of pain washed over her still recovering muscles. Anna dropped the knife to the ground and rolled off of Morgan, a muffled groan escaping her battered figure. A child? What the heck was a----. Anna's expression flattened out as she lay on her side, her face turned toward Morgan.

That's for steeling my escape pod.

She said, spiting out the blood which had accumulated in her mouth. Where the heck did she get blood in her mouth from? Who knows. She had a habit of biting her cheek in her sleep some times. Maybe Morgan had startled the Seer just that much. What ever the case, Anna didn't move. She didn't want to. Her body was too sore at the moment. She'd just attacked a child, and she was certain the girl would run off freaking out or something. Being jumped on this swampy world was no fun after all. Anna knew from experience ...except it was a Dragon snake that had jumped her.

Sorry, You startled me. Are you alright Morgan?

The Kriff. She'd just let that name slip from her mouth and into open air. Yes, she knew exactly who Morgan Calmcacil was. Fate had told her long ago, Fate, and Felucia when once they were enemies. But why in the universe did she have to let her know that? Well if the kid wasn't freaked out yet, she certainly would be now. Figuring it would be best to leave it at that, rather than trying to explain, or lie about how she knew Morgan's name, Anna just stayed silent, tilting her head, and moving one of her hands to get the messy wet brown hair from clinging to her face.

Re: Open Terrain

*Morgan remained crouched by the girl, only now taking notice of how deeply she was breathing. She hardly noticed through her determination to get through and survive, but the long journey through the wilderness had started to take its toll on her; this was unlike Felucia, where she was able to draw strength from the world itself, and, on the rare occasion she did grow winded, she recovered in seconds.

The girl was speaking. Something was strange about it; mutters in her sleep? Maybe she was rousing... And was suddenly irritated, as Morgan's senses were telling her. The darkness was becoming more apparent... Its influence expanding. Morgan didn't like this. It wasn't making her feel comfortable and she should probably just get away. Or at least at a safe distance, wait for her to wake up, find out if she was hostile or not, then go from th├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

Hostile. She was definitely hostile.

Morgan's eyes widened as the woman suddenly jumped to her feet. She tried to get up and jump backward, roll, do something to get out of the way, but no time; the girl's arm hit her in the shoulder and sent her rolling to the side. Fortunately, it hadn't been quite a painful blow, but the move following that one up connected with her ribs; with a shout, the wind was knocked out of her as she was suddenly pinned to the graciously soft ground.

She had to move, she was under attack and needed to get out of this. Reach for her lightsaber or attempt to throw her off of her with the Force. But at the same time, her mind was demanding oxygen. Unsure which to answer, she suddenly found her arms pinned to the ground by the girl's knees. She stared up into the face of her attacker, her countenance unpleasant and decorated by both mud and blood. Beneath the blindfold, scars stretched outwards in hideous curls. Wait... they seemed to be coming from... her eyes?

Morgan's own eyes widened considerably; this girl had her eyes taken from her, hadn't she? She was no Miraluka... But that mattered less than the fact that she was going to kill her. She finally coughed as her lungs demanded to be filled, but her breaths, when she finally resumed breathing, came in shallow gasps as her mind raced to come up with a solution to get her out of this. If this were Felucia, this would be so much easier; she would draw from the world's own energy and fight back. But she couldn't as easily access Dagobah's energy, only the Force around her. She had to├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

Knife at her throat. Morgan took one final sharp intake of breath and she froze. She was completely at the mercy of this girl, now. A girl with a darkness about her, influencing her mind. Her heart pounded in her chest. She wanted to cry out for help, but no words came, not even a whimper. A sharp object was near her skin and threatened to slit it, spilling forth blood. And Morgan was helpless to do anything at all to escape.

For Psallo was upon her.

But then something happened. The golden creature seemed to loosen his posture before lifting the knife and dropping it harmlessly to the side, then rolling off of Morgan and falling to the carpeted ground with a grunt. Morgan watched in surprise and relief, but didn't dare move. Then the Maelibus opened his words and spoke. And yet it was not a melodic tone that followed, but that of a young woman. "That's for stealing my escape pod"?

And suddenly light entered the room; the carpet became soggy grass, trees springing up in the distance, a pit of water opening up within. The image of Psallo faded, being replaced with the image of the young girl. Morgan no longer was in the pink pajamas but once more in her regular clothing. What had... what just happened?

Her chest and diaphragm started to spasm, and suddenly she was gasping for air, taking in deep breaths, trying to refill her lungs; had she really not been breathing for that long? Just what had happened? Why had the scene just changed? Why had the girl relented her attack? She couldn't make sense of anything; she rolled over onto her side and curled up in a fetal position, gasping, sobbing, tears falling from her eyes as she failed to make sense of anything.

"Sorry, you startled me. Are you alright Morgan?"

Morgan looked up at the girl laying beside her through glistening, blurry eyes. And now... now she knew Morgan's name too? How? How was all of this happening? Why was nothing making sense? Just who was this girl? Morgan was certain she'd never seen her before in her life. At least now she knew she was only attacked because she startled the girl... But that frightful scene that had somehow manifested itself had taken root, filling her with fear and uncertainty. A tear fell from her eyes to the ground. Her voice was shaking with sobs as she tried to speak.*

H-h-how d-... do you know m-me?
*She sniffled, then tried to wipe her eyes with her palm, which was fortunately clean. It didn't do much good; she only continued to sob and new tears formed. She had to stop this; she should be grateful that the girl was apparently not wanting to be hostile towards her at all. And yet, the horrible visage of Psallo compounded with the emanation of darkness from whatever it was on the girl's person was preventing her from being at any sort of ease. So she gave up on trying to wipe her eyes and tried her best to contain her sobs, waiting for an answer from the girl.*

Re: Open Terrain

Anna flinched as Morgan curled up on the ground, shaking and sobbing with pitiful hiccups. All Anna could do was watch, and feel the fright rolling off the child. Why in the world would she, of all people, attempt to harm any of the Calmcacil Family. It was Master Aerandir Calmcacil who had aided Raven Alora and several others in liberating her from Legion's clutches. If anything, Anna owed Aerandir a debt that she could never fully pay, Aerandir and all the others. But she could start amending for her sins right now, but helping Morgan off this ball of slime called Dagobah.

But as the Seer slowly sat up, her mind became aware of the shift in Morgan's own mind, for once, after the fact. It was so nice of Fate to keep her aware of all thees things, even if she couldn't use them. Something terrifying had happened to Morgan's thoughts when Anna had attacked her. Oddly enough, it was not the actual attack that made Anna curious. This ran far far deeper. But it was none of the Seer's business. Right now, there was a crying little girl who needed something... That something wasn't medical attention, food, or water. Right now, Anna felt that Morgan simply needed comfort, a companion....something that she didn't have so many times she had needed it as a child.

Well, She said, pushing herself up more fully into a seating position, shivering a bit from the bite of the dampness and the flex of the pain her muscles were recovering from. I fought with your Father...so to speak.

Morgan could take that how she liked. It could have easily be seen that fighting with someone as allies, side by side was what the Seer meant, but there was of course another meaning, and that was the one Anna had hit upon. She gave a thin smile and scooted closer to Morgan, holding out her hands in a motion of peace. Then, she paused. Her expression fell to her chest where her vest still was wrapped tightly about her. With out pause, she reached within it and drew forth the wicked accursed dagger. For such an evil thing, it looked elegant, almost beautiful, but in a wrong, perverted kind of way, as if it were a sin to let one's mind fall to that opinion of the blade. The darkness was never meant to be pretty, but that didn't mean it couldn't be beautiful, in a sense. Before Morgan had time to get the idea that Anna was on the attack again, the Seer stabbed the blade into a near by sapling and again made her way toward Morgan. The blade had no place near a vulnerable child...ever.

Come here, I'm not going to hurt you.

She said, extending her arms toward the child, a thin smile on her face, as much of an expression she could muster. Deep down, Anna figured she might need the hug as much as Morgan did. But she could never admit that to herself. She couldn't allow herself to get too close to anybody, to become tied to them.

Fate liked braking her ties. Even if it meant collateral damage would be wrought on history. And Anna was tired of stolen lives being piled on her conscience. But right now, she was determined to keep this girl alive, and deliver her safely to her Father. And right now, Morgan needed security. That was certainly something an Oracle of Fate could give...at least for now.

Re: Open Terrain

*Morgan tried her best to collect herself, trying to force out the bad thoughts and think of something more wholesome. It was proving difficult; the experience had been quite traumatic if only for the fact that it was causing flashbacks of an even more traumatic event. She sobbed, she sniffled, tears filled her vision, but that did not render her incapable of hearing the girl's answer to her question.

Fought... with her father? Really? So her father knew this girl? "So to speak"... What did she mean by that? Morgan was never sure what people meant when they said that. But... wait... her father had told her about what had happened at that tower. There was a girl, named Anna, who had no eyes, but was a Seer. She had become the vessel of the demon named "Legion," and her father had helped the Jedi of the base to free her from his influence.

This girl was wearing a blindfold. There were scars revealing themselves from beneath the blindfold. Scars... from when her eyes had been removed? Morgan briefly stopped her sobbing, looking upon the girl with a soft gasp of realization. This was her, wasn't it? This was Anna. And she had "fought with" her father in more than one way.

So what was she doing on Felucia? She was a Seer, so maybe... Maybe she knew Morgan would get lost here and had come to help her? Morgan wasn't sure, but at least she was attempting to reconcile with her; the attack on her still left her in a state of mild distrust, and the flashbacks that had accompanied it still left her rattled. But from what she knew, Anna wasn't dangerous, she was just misunderstood and├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

And brandishing a knife. Morgan squeaked in fright and cowered, afraid Anna was going to attack her again. But... that dagger... There was something unnatural about it. The way it was designed, it just looked... evil. There were runes upon it, and they were flashing red... This was the source of the dark side energy she had felt earlier. This thing... It was emanating darkness, and it seemed... hungry, if a blade could even seem that way. And Anna was holding it before her. Morgan attempted to scamper backwards and away, but remained frozen in place after moving only a couple of inches, staring in fear of the blade.

Then the dagger was brought down. Morgan's head jerked to the side and she shut her eyes tight, tears sprinkling through the air with the movement. She heard the impact, but she didn't feel it. Had it... killed so quickly? Morgan chanced to open one eye, and when she saw Dagobah still before her, she opened the other and looked around, spotting the dagger protruding from a sapling. Her eyes widened, then she looked at Anna again.

She was moving towards Morgan, and Morgan almost moved backwards again, but didn't; Anna didn't seem hostile anymore. She was smiling, or trying to, with her arms extended, beckoning Morgan, saying she wasn't going to hurt her. Morgan studied her for a moment. There was something within Anna... hidden, but there. Desire, of some sort? Morgan couldn't tell what for, but she could also tell that Anna was at least trying to be reconciliatory.

Morgan looked upon Anna for a moment. Then she picked herself up off the ground and threw herself at Anna, wrapping her arms around her neck and burying her face in her shoulder. Her sobs renewed; she clung to Anna tightly, claiming what comfort she could while she could get it. After a moment, when her sobs seemed to finally subside a bit, she thought about this situation she was in.

Had she not received those flashbacks, she wouldn't be so miserable right now. She felt she at least owed Anna that explanation, so, extricating her face from the girl and flipping the hair away from her face, she looked up at Anna, then hesitated. She had no eyes, so what was she supposed to look into? Morgan's eyes darted here and there upon her face, but then decided that wasn't important, so instead she just began her story.*

I... I'm sorry... I wasn't scared of you... I just... you somehow made me think of something bad that happened to me...
*Morgan looked away from Anna to the side for a moment, sniffled, then looked back up at the girl.*
When you attacked me, I... saw someone else who attacked me. A big, gold guy named "Psallo," he was a... Maelibus. He... he cut me open with really sharp claws and bit my shoulder and...
*Morgan looked down and sniffled again, a tear falling from her eye and into her lap. She opened her eyes, but her gaze remained fixated upon her lap, her arms still wrapped around Anna's neck, when she spoke next.*
... it scares me...
*She sniffled again, then she wrapped herself around Anna again, hugging her if only instinctively, if only looking for that protection she so desired, to feel safe in the face of the only true fear she had ever felt. She wondered though how Anna was feeling about this. If that was her name. Morgan figured she might as well confirm this, if at least to make sure she was naming the girl correctly. Drawing herself away a bit, she looked back up into the muddied, bloodied, blindfolded face of the girl.*
You're... you're Anna, aren't you?
*Morgan didn't know much about Anna, other than what her father had told her. She had only been told that Anna was one of the "good guys" who had made a bad decision and regretted it. That while she may have had some "questionable" qualities, she wasn't a malevolent being at heart. She definitely didn't seem to be, though she had to question why she carried that dagger. Re: Open Terrain

Morgan seemed a bit fearful at first, and Anna couldn't blame her. But then, as if it were a bipolar shift, the child flung herself upon her and Anna could do nothing but wrap her own arms around the small shaking figure. For a moment, she tightened as if she were under attack, but ordered her jumpy mind quickly before she did something she regretted. After getting over the tension, Anna lowered her head and held Morgan securely, as if she were her little sister.

Anna had never had any siblings. She'd not really known her mother and her father, at least what she took to be her biological father, had been an abusive sith that was eventually ended by the Bothan Jedi knight Gadriel'lya. And her adoptive father? Anna let her arms tighten a bit more at the memory of her own blade carving deep into Tywalker's chest. She shivered at the memory, so real, always, ever present in her mind. Perhaps Morgan would think she was shaking because of the cold. But there was always another reason behind the seer's trembling, Another reason no one would ever know.

Almost timidly, Anna reached up and began to stroke Morgan's hair, totally unuse to comforting someone. She'd always been the bringer of bad news, the weather reporter that always predicted a hurricane on the horizon. She rarely if ever got to give good tidings to anybody. Even now, she knew when this one was going to die. It would be a very long time from now, but she couldn't say that. And besides, for some reason this one's future was fuzzy to the Seer. She tended to ignore it, because she figured she might misread what Fate was giving her. It liked to change scripts n her every once and a while, as if to keep Anna on her toes...as if it was playing a cruel game with her.

Noting how Morgan's apprehension toward the demonic dagger Anna shook her head, pulling the girl back and shrugging slightly.

Sorry....it can be a jerk some times.

She said, jerking her head over toward the blade as Morgan did. Then Anna addressed the child's question with out quaver to her voice. There was a question she could answer, and with out fate's prodding.

Yea, I'm her...

She didn't seem too proud of her name. What was she? Anna, Jedi knight? No, she was no longer a Jedi. Anna the Seer? What in that title was there to be proud of? Anna didn't know.

Bet the Jedi have horror stories about me don't they?

A joyless laughter came from her person and she sighed, bringing Morgan closer to her again and pulling the hair out of the child's face.

What ever the case... If we're in the right place, it rains about every six hours in this area of the planet....or so I've red. We might want to find somewhere to keep dry.

As if to get the topic off of herself, and bring some light to the situation, Anna smiled a bit fuller now and looked down at Morgan's face.

I'd offer my pod, but it's at the bottom of that stupid lake back there. So, Are you able to walk? Preferably better than I can right now?

Re: Open Terrain

*Morgan looked confused at first when Anna explained that the dagger could "be a jerk sometimes." How could a weapon be a jerk? But then, maybe there was more to that darksidedness than she realized. Or was Anna just personifying its evil influence? Either way, it was kind of funny, and she started to smile and giggle softly as Anna held her and comforted her.

She was starting to feel a bit more at ease now, especially since Anna had confirmed her identity. But what did she mean by "horror stories" about her? She hadn't heard anything about her other than what her father had said, and it certainly wasn't a "horror story." In fact, he had spoken of hope for her, that Anna knew what her destiny was and would follow it. It had actually seemed rather encouraging to Morgan, not horrifying at all...

Morgan had shaken her head, but just heard the laughter. It... didn't seem very mirthful or humorous. Maybe it was a dry joke, then? Morgan had completely missed that... At the very least, she enjoyed the comfort Anna was giving her; she really needed it right now, not just for the vision, but for this whole ordeal of crash landing on her own on this world. Of course, she had been fine enough then to just move on. But now... well, she was feeling better now.

Anna certainly seemed to know about this place, and survival in general. The latter wasn't really surprising, the former... was she being sincere when she claimed to know about how often it rained because she read such? Or was it her Seer abilities? Regardless, did she know what planet they were on now? Morgan was about to ask, when instead she was asked if she could walk. Could she? Yeah, no problem.*

Yeah, I can walk. See?
*She extricated herself from Anna's arms, slid off her lap, and stood up straight, then, to provide a stronger example, walked around in a two-foot circle with a proud smile on her face. After completing its circumference, she stopped and faced Anna again, suddenly looking at her curiously.*
So... do you know what planet we're on?
*The answer to that would hopefully enlighten Morgan a bit; it looked so familiar but she couldn't put a name on it. Morgan had taken notice when Anna said her pod was in the lake├óÔé¼ÔÇØ Wait a minute, was Anna on that same ship the whole time? How did Morgan not know? How come she hadn't come to Morgan's rescue? She frowned, but at least they were safe now. And that probably explained Anna's injuries; there were probably water monsters on this world too...*

Re: Open Terrain

Anna figured she must be a horrible person. Perhaps growing up had done that to her, because she had the burning desire to trip Morgan in her stride as she circled her. But, she restrained herself rather well. A small smile came to her face with the little thought, and she shook her head to clear it. Walking was good. Anna figured she'd have more trouble walking than the younger girl. Her legs and muscles were still sour, still recovering from lack of oxygen. Slowly, she stood to her feet, and to her dismay, she wavered a bit. Grumbling to herself at the dizzy sensation Anna reached up and adjusted her soggy blindfold. That was really annoying, but Anna couldn't let it make her anymore irritated. She had Morgan to think about now. Grabbing her bag and once again hoisting it over her shoulder, she turned her head to look at the girl.

Well, Walking is a good thing. Let's find somewhere to get out of the weather.

As for the planet they were on, Anna had merely assumed that Morgan knew. Apparently she didn't, and that was ok. Not everyone knew everything like she did. It would make life boring. No one would ever have to talk to anybody, because they would all know what others were about to say. Wow, She shook her head to get her mind back on track and finally spoke in answer to Morgan's question.

Oh....We're on Dagobah, you know, Yoda's vacation spot and all that? It's why the force is so strong here. Feel it tugging?

She figured that Mogan had a strong connection to the force. One had to, the kid was adopted by a kriffing planet for the force's sake! With a thin smile, she wondered what Morgan's answer would be. And the sensation almost made Anna want to teach someone. She knew enough junk to live on, why not share some of that understanding. Of course, she'd never wish her amount of knowledge on anyone else, but it would be a chance to have a companion.

And that stopped her idea of being a teacher right there. Fate obviously didn't approve of her having anyone closer than an acquaintance. If she had them, her students would all probably die, and most of them would probably die by her own stupid choices. The notion put a sower look on Anna's face, and for a moment, she forgot about the child. Upon remembering, she shook her head again, averted her expression from her so she could reform a more pleasant one again, and motioned forward.

Maybe the Master's hut is still standing. I'd not be surprised....and It would be the perfect place to tend to my injuries and for you to rest. Common.

Anything to get her mind off of the notion of people dieing around her...and off of the shadows she felt constantly pursuing her.

Re: Open Terrain

*Get out of the weather, right. That sounded good, considering rain was coming here soon. Wherever "here" was. Oh. Dagobah. That was where Master Yoda had lived during the days of the Empire! Morgan started to smile in realization, but stopped when Anna had given it away. She had hoped to be able to reveal that bit of info herself; that's how it normally worked with her father or someone else. But, she supposed, Anna was just different that way.

Yoda's presence here was why the Force was so strong? She thought that was just how the world was by itself... After all, the dark side cave she had heard about was here long before Yoda... She was suddenly overcome with a strange curiosity in the location, as though she desired to visit it. Luke Skywalker had faced a vision of himself becoming the new Darth Vader, warning him of the dark side; what sorts of visions would Morgan have had within?

Was that part of the strange, ominous presence she had felt upon landing on this world? No... familiarity was behind it. Although the Force could manifest itself as something familiar... Morgan was nearly completely lost in thought, almost missing Anna's question. She had been looking away, towards the deeper parts of the forest, but whirled back to look at her, catching the question in time of whether she could feel it tugging.

She nodded. She could feel it easily. Not as strongly as Felucia, no, but it was still ever present. She started to look around again, but returned her gaze to Anna when she suggested finding Yoda's hut, if it was even still standing. Her eyes widened a bit; that would be amazing! To just know she was in the presence of a legendary Grand Master... maybe she could feel him. Maybe there'd be some lesson she could learn from him, even from beyond the Force.

Or rest there. That also sounded good; she was feeling a bit tired from all that hiking earlier, as well as defending the reptilian bird's nest. Unlike Felucia, she couldn't simply exchange energy with the planet and keep herself on her feet longer. And plus, somewhere inside might be better for tending to Anna's wounds after all. A perfect compromise.*

Okay. Well, let's go!
*She turned around, then stopped. Instead of blindly trekking off into the woods, she probably should attempt to dip into the Force and feel its guiding calls. She lowered her head slightly and closed her eyes, opening her mind to the Force. She melded her consciousness with the world around her; not nearly to as deep an extent as she had that first time with Felucia, but enough to let the Force be her guide.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes, turning a bit to the left, then pointing into the woods as she looked back up at Anna.*

It's this way!
*Recalling the girl was a Seer, she winced slightly, smile becoming something of a grimace.*
Uh, you knew that already, didn't you?
*She reached up to rub the back of her head a bit sheepishly, then simply turned back in the direction she had declared was the right way. Then she marched off in that direction. This would be incredible. The dwelling of Master Yoda himself. A short Jedi, much like herself, she thought with a soft giggle. Rest sounded good, but she was also eager to discover what she could possibly learn there. If anything.

But the ominous presence in the back of her mind still loomed. Dark, familiar, and uninviting. She felt sour memories starting to resurface, but those weren't anything she wanted to focus on at the moment; she just wanted to focus on getting to Yoda's hut, then getting off the planet and back home. No hindrances were needed nor wanted right now...*

Re: Open Terrain

Anna paused for a moment as Morgan pointed in the direction Yoda's hut was in. Further observing showed Anna how quickly the child recalled her seer abilities and the young blind woman winced. There were often times she hated knowing things, and indeed she did know pretty much the general location of the place they were headed. If she didn't, she wouldn't have suggested it. She would have said to make some kind of shelter or something, maybe go find the kid's escape pod and sleep in that thing. It would be uncomfortable but it would be dry and a lot safer than her own pod.

But Anna felt strangely awkward about the situation and how Morgan seemed to feel almost the same way. Finally a solution came to her quick mind and Anna paused, looking at Morgan as she began to trot off. Anna sighed and attempted to match her speed, to little avail as she responded.

Na.. I might be a Seer, but I'm horrible when it comes to directions. I'm like a weatherman...see, It's going to rain in about a half hour.

She said with a soft laugh, attempting to keep the mood light and cheerful...well maybe cheerful was a bit too much to hope for. After all, Dagobah was a lovely, but often dreary planet. She could predict other things....like people's deaths, and when a war was going to brake out...but she didn't want to talk about that. Honestly, this was the first prediction she could make fully with out her abilities. She knew that from books and reading, and her own hard work and effort in studying. And it made her feel good. With a truer smile on her face she quickened her pace despite the slight discomfort it caused her damaged legs and continued speaking.

Why don't you lead the way Morgie. I'm sure you can find it faster than me.

She said, finally catching up fully with the girl and matching stride with her. Hopefully this wouldn't be so bad after all. She was already beginning to feel a little more free with herself....and it felt great.

Re: Open Terrain

*Wait a minute... how could a seer be terrible at directions? That didn't make a lot of sense. It was something that legitimately confused Morgan, especially when Anna tried to compare herself to a weatherman... How did that make any sense? Rain in half an hour... Was Anna serious or joking? It seemed like she might have been joking, judging by her laugh. Morgan couldn't really tell, but it didn't really matter as much as shelter at the moment.

Well, at least she was getting to lead the way. That made her feel a little important├óÔé¼ÔÇØ Wait. Anna called her "Morgie." Morgan hadn't used that name around her, and she doubted anyone else had either. Morgan almost stopped, but didn't; it had taken her off-guard, but then again, she supposed, Anna would have a valid reason for knowing the nickname: The same way she had known Morgan's real name. So she only carried onward.

Seers were strange... She hadn't really been around one before. It was already an interesting experience, and no doubt would get even more interesting. Morgan would soon see. But they also had to survive and find a way off this world. And Morgan was curious about the familiar presence, dark or not... She'd have to put it off for now. Finding a place to rest and take shelter for a bit was far more important.*

Re: Open Terrain
":1i6i9l3w]And so they ran, quickly at first, but Anna was very mindful of Morgan's pace. The last thing she wanted to do was leave the child behind, to face her own vision alone. Each step she took, she recalled the vision of power and terrible strength Bogan had plunged into her mind. Her head was lowered, yet, some how, the force guided her well enough so that she didn't encounter any trees or branches. It was true, what Bogan had shown her. She was unsure of just how much power she possessed. Who knew, she might be able to stop time for all she understood. If she had learned one thing about herself during this trip, it was that she didn't know anything about herself.

From her origin story, to the visions of her own future, Anna had come to realize just how small her understanding of her abilities were. It kinda made her feel small, in her very own mind, and she didn't like that. Feeling small in the universe was one thing, but within one's own self. It was like waking a vast empty temple of her soul, and only having a few paintings or tapestries to hang here and there. The halls should be filled with memories and ambitions...and they were,

but of other people.

She hardly knew the faces of those she saw in her visions. A lot of the time, she traveled so that she could find them. Her mind was full of strangers, and she felt oddly alone in it all of a sudden. It made her slow her pace a little, to a contemplative jog. But the pounding of foot falls, and the sound of thick claws digging into wet, soft soil made Anna speed up again. Morgan probably wouldn't hear the sounds of the hunt, and that was alright, because they hadn't actually been made yet. But the seer's mind was active, and Fate was keeping her one step ahead of current events.

Left, right, over a fallen log, around a lake, under branches. Anna seemed to be taking a rather difficult path for Morgan to fallow, but she was doing it slow enough so that the child could keep up. Morgan might question this, but all Anna knew was that this thing chasing them was big. She saw him struggle through the lake they had went around, tackle a swamp snake, and drag himself out of the water again. She heard his annoyed, yet beautiful cursing at the brambles she'd plunged Morgan and herself through not but 20 minutes before. And all the while, they were headed for a looming structure, a scar on the planet's surface, something that needed to be destroyed, just like the creature who would soon be trapped within it.

Anna knew all of this, but it didn't make her feel any less secure. If anything, it elevated her heart rate. But they had time now. The ravine they had just climbed across on a fallen and now shattered log, would soon be filled with heavy rain water and large flesh eating fish....or something. Anna couldn't quite make out the small details. But that wasn't important. The main thing was, it had become quite dark, and the two needed to stop. [/color:1i6i9l3w]

Alright....

Anna said as she jogged to a halt and took Morgan's arm if she had a little trouble stopping. Looking over at her, her long bangs plastered to her sweat drenched forehead.[/color:1i6i9l3w]

We stop here for now. We'll be alright. Got anything that might give us some warmth in your bag?

Anna asked, pulling the damp hair from her face and looking around. She suddenly jumped up and grabbed a large overhanging leaf above her. Glancing around with the force, she snatched a strong feeling vine from a near by tree and tied the end of the leaf off to the trunk of another plant.[/color:1i6i9l3w]

It's about to rain...buckets full.

She said, tilting her head slightly and sitting down to discourage the child from running any further. They had to stop, it was the way of things. Going on during the night might give their adversary an advantage, and something had pulled Anna here. Plus, she was sure Morgan would be tired. Their trek hadn't been an easy one. Anna had saw to it.... for several reasons.[/color:1i6i9l3w][/quote:1i6i9l3w]

[action:1i6i9l3w]The run was much longer and more difficult than Morgan had originally imagined. She had expected some slight difficulty, yes, due to the Dagobah jungle's foggy, swampy, marshy, and rooty terrain. Was rooty even a word? Point being, she thought it would be a bit rough, but not [i:1i6i9l3w]this[/i:1i6i9l3w] rough. She [i:1i6i9l3w]almost[/i:1i6i9l3w] lost sight of Anna, but Anna had graciously slowed down just enough so that Morgan could keep up with her.

What were they running from anyway? What was so dangerous that they had to flee like this? Something from the cave? Was Anna merely running away from the dagger? It was a decision Morgan would support, but after enough time had passed, she no longer thought that was the case. In the pit of her stomach, she had a horrible feeling, a familiar darkness separate from the location they were headed towards. And while it was vague, she had the distinct feeling that, unlike their destination, she did not want to investigate this feeling whatsoever...

The trek was getting more strenuous, having to duck branches and leap over logs. At one point, she had stepped in mud, coating her shoe in the substance, but she had no chance to stop and try to shake and scrape it off. They even had to jump through brambles... Brambles that scratched her exposed skin and leaving a mark below her right eye. And yet, they still didn't stop. As if the trip hadn't been arduous enough, Anna even led them over a ravine by way of an old, broken log.

And she thought the path Yoda had led her upon was difficult.

Eventually, thankfully, Anna finally had drawn them to a stop, but Morgan had been moving so fast so long it was difficult to control her inertia. Fortunately, Anna had reached out a hand to take Morgan's arm and slow her, which caused Morgan to nearly collapse. She managed to keep from falling over entirely and pushed herself back up into a standing position, where she immediately leaned against the nearest tree and breathed in deep, rasping breaths.

That was easily the roughest trek she had ever endured. She was breathless, sore, scratched, exhausted, and soaked with sweat to the point her hair and clothes were stuck to her. But, thank the Force, Anna declared that they were stopping here, then asked if Morgan had anything in her bag for "warmth." Morgan didn't move other than to look over her shoulder at Anna, head rolling freely like a puppet, tongue practically hanging out as she continued to try to catch her breath, before, with slow and weary motions, pulled her bag around, unzipping it and rummaging around in it for a few moments, before finally looking back over at Anna and shaking her head.[/action:1i6i9l3w]
No...
[action:1i6i9l3w]Her voice barely had any breath to it, but was just audible enough. Had there been blankets on the escape pod? She should have checked, should have brought one... but would there have been enough room for the other things she needed if she had put one in her bag?

It was too late to worry about that now, so she only watched as Anna seemed to be putting together a makeshift shelter above them, since it was going to rain "buckets full." Rain... water... water was good, yes. Morgan slumped to the ground beside Anna, leaning against the tree for support as she dug around in her bag for water. She removed one bottle and started to remove the cap, then decided to offer it to Anna instead.[/action:1i6i9l3w]
Here, Anna...
[action:1i6i9l3w][i:1i6i9l3w]"You're probably as thirsty as I am,"[/i:1i6i9l3w][/color:1i6i9l3w] she had wanted to add, but couldn't muster the energy; her throat was dreadfully dry. She then took another bottle for herself, struggling to remove the cap for a moment before tilting her head back and lifting the bottle to her lips. Due to her weakness, her aim wasn't perfect, and some water dribbled down her chin and onto her already-soaked shirt, but she cared not. She then exhaled deeply, then slid against Anna, using both her and the tree for support.[/action:1i6i9l3w]
Anna? What are we running from?
[action:1i6i9l3w]Her eyelids felt heavier than duracrete blocks, but she had to ask before she lost consciousness. Would Anna even tell her? There had to be a good reason for this insane journey. And there was still the matter of where they were going... though Morgan could feel it even more strongly now, an old darkness, yet familiar sensations accompanying it. But right now, all she wanted was to know was what they were running from... and some sleep.[/action:1i6i9l3w]

Re: Open Terrain

Just a Monster, Morgie. Nothing to worry about. We're always gonna be one step ahead of it. I'm a Seer, remember?

Remembering Morgan's previous terror about the Demonic creature from the planet Iego, she didn't think it wise to tell the child exactly what they were actually running from. If she needed to know, the force would tell her...or something. Maybe she'd tell the girl after she got some sleep. Sleep was important. She couldn't drag Morgan through the swamp again without proper rest.

Noticing that the girl had grabbed a bottle of water, and handed it to Anna first, before taking one for herself, Anna looked at Morgan, impressed by her selflessness. Aerandir had raised a good daughter. She didn't need fate to tell her that Morgan would become a great and compassionate Jedi one day. Smiling softly as she drank deeply and lowered her head. Taking in a deep breath, she sat beneath the large leaf she'd tied to a tree and crossed her legs in a meditative position as Morgan came closer, and Morgan wrapped an arm about the girl, drawing her close, perhaps subconsciously protectively.

Thank you for the water.

She said with a kind smile, and stroked Morgan's hair softly.

You ran hard today. Go to sleep. I'll stay up for a while, you know, just in case something sneaks up on us. I doubt it though. I'll keep you safe.

As she felt the child begin to drift off into sleep, Anna leaned her head back against the tree trunk, cradling the girl against her, as she reached her mind out, far, and thin, for the planet Felucia.

So deep and cold and dark space was, and soon, a mind, the mind she was searching for. Raven Alora was always very easy to contact. The woman was empathetic, which caused her to stick out like a beacon in the force constantly. Anna latched onto the Master's mind firmly, conveying their location, and, where they would be when the Felucian forces would show up. Because Anna knew this.

She also knew that Morgan would be alone.

And just like that, their link was severed. Like whiplash Anna felt the taint on the planet leap into her mind and shoot through her very soul. Far too violently than she would have liked, Anna released her hold on Alora's mind and fell back into her own consciousness, her mind reeling from the dark sensation. Gasping and clawing at her hair, she opened her mouth to tell the voices to silence themselves. But what came out were words of darkness and evil. The cutting, poisonous language of the dead, dripping like hot acid from her tongue. Her blood boiled. Her mouth was on fire. Her skin felt as if it had been ripped in two. She felt cold and hot at the same time, wet with something chill like water, yet something thick and warm like blood. Dark shadows streaked about her, taking the form of trees, branches, the planet itself in black and white. A face, sharp claws, even sharper teeth, singing she violently ignored.

Everything was a threat! Everything wanted her powerless, silent, dead! Everything was darkness, and evil, and wicked! It must all be purged!

Anna jerked her head back, the force returning to her correctly. Her sight was restored, much to her relief. Yet, much to her horror, she looked down on the sleeping child, who had, apparently, been lay down gently on the ground under the leaf, and who know had a dagger pointed at her throat. But it wasn't just any dagger, it was Legion's. And it wasn't just anyone holding it, It was Anna.

With shaky, choked up breaths, Anna backed away from the girl, thankful that she'd not touched her or waken her at all. The last thing Morgan needed to see was her new companion pointing that - this, hideous dagger at her face, right after promising her safety from the monster chasing them.

But what about the monster within herself?

Suddenly, stabbing pain rocketed up and down her arms, and as Anna looked down, she noted several lesions across her forearms, oozing with blood. The Dagger's blade dripped with the substance. She winced, biting her lower lip. The pain almost made her sick. The blade had punished her dearly for leaving it behind, and it had almost cost Morgan her life. The hard truth was, Anna simply couldn't run from a part of herself. No matter how far she went, or how hard she ran, or how fast she traveled, she would never escape this curse.

With an angered growl, Anna stabbed the blade into a near by stump and focused the force' healing energy on her cut up and bleeding arms. Morgan couldn't know of this. Perhaps by morning, she'd be rid of the marks, and could safely hide the blade.

How the heck did it get back here?

She winced again, the answer showing itself in fresh wet mud on her shoes and scratches along her face and upper arms....and a memory of singing in her mind.

Had she?

Oh by the force..... Had she led that thing right to them? How long was she bleeding? That thing could track them. The rain had come and gone without her knowledge. The force was clouded. There was no time.

Morgan! Morgan get up!

This time the sound of thudding foot falls was real, and not a thing of the future.

Get up girl! we have to go, NOW!

After shaking Morgan a few times, she grasped the dagger, spat a curse at it and shoved it into her vest. Taking hold of Morgan's arm, and wincing at the pain, she simply picked the girl up and hoisted their bags over her own shoulders.

Hold on to me, tight!

She began to run, surprisingly fast. Good, fine, that stupid blade had probably given her strength by sapping her own blood. Just dandy! Nevertheless, using the force to guide her, she payed little attention to the night and only dodged trees and limbs, leaping over logs and even ditches. All the while her trek led toward a massive structure, simply incrusted with the darkside of the force, an abandoned center for chaos, a blight on this planet, and her own grave.

Re: Open Terrain

*A monster? Morgan wondered what kind of monster. Was it a large monster? Small one? Hairy? Did it have sharp teeth? Was it ugly? Not all monsters were ugly... Morgan didn't want to think about that, though, and felt some small comfort in Anna's assurances that they would be "one step ahead of it," her being a Seer and all. Maybe it was just another one of those giant tree monsters?

Morgan relaxed some, especially as Anna thanked her for the water and stroked her hair. She smiled, but simply lay against Anna's side, who advised that she go to sleep, assuring her that she'd keep her safe. Morgan still had an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach, but it was distant, not here. And she was sleepy... Affording herself some peace of mind, Morgan snuggled against Anna, closing her eyes, soon drifting off into sleep.*

*The light was dim where she stood. She could not be certain, but it looked like a courtyard. She was standing on an ashen gray stone path, with grass on either side of it, but the grass looked... brown. Dead. There was barely any light, and rain was pouring down heavily. Curiously, not a single drop touched Morgan, but it pounded and rattled upon the ground, drowning out all other noise.

Also untouched by the water was a single candle, the sole source of light for this strange courtyard. Morgan started to walk toward it, and it seemed as though an invisible area formed and split the cascading rain as she walked by trickling walls toward the destination. She knelt down by the candle, its light faint, and she felt a slight amount of warmth radiating from it. She somehow felt more comfortable, kneeling next to it...

Then, a whoosh, a sudden wisp of air, and the light extinguished. Suddenly the courtyard was cast in an eerie gloom, an ethereal light now bathing the area in a gray, dead shade. She gasped, standing and turning about, looking around, but nothing had changed. However, Morgan knew she was no longer alone, proven true when the rustling of a cloak alerted her to the presence of another.*

"Welcome back, child..."

*Morgan again gasped and spun to face the figure that appeared. Lightning flashed, illuminating his sneering face, wickedly grinning, for only a moment. A face she knew, but could not put a name to. Nevertheless, one familiar to her, with a sickly smooth voice to accompany it.

A child's shriek came from another part of the courtyard, and Morgan tore her gaze away from the figure. From an entryway came dashing a small girl, likely younger than Morgan. She was moving as fast as her small legs could carry her, and even in the dim glow Morgan could see the terror written across her face. Suddenly, a red beam protruded from her chest, her eyes widening in shock and her mouth falling open in a silent scream, before the blade was withdrawn and she fell to the ground, smoke issuing from the fatal wound.*

"Yes... Very good to see you again..."

*She tore her own terrified gaze away from the corpse of the child towards the source of the voice that was familiar to her. This one's face was hooded, but the glow of his lightsaber cast an eerie glow on his expression: Jack Mapio. What was this... where was she... ?*

"It's about time you came to me. To us."

*The third voice was directly behind her, and Morgan shrieked, spinning to look up at the face of Ambar. Only... not Ambar. His voice was cruel, his smirk belied sinister thoughts... Not Ambar... Ascin. Morgan stumbled backward, falling and cowering on the ground. Darkness seemed to encompass her, enshrouding her like a swarm of bats.*

"Morgan get up! Get up girl!"

*Morgan uncovered her face and looked up into that of Anna's, a wicked grin on her lips, the perverse dagger clutched in a bloody hand. White orbs shown brightly in her empty eye sockets, rimmed with darkness. Morgan yelled and scrambled backwards, her words not registering in her mind; all she wanted to do was to find safety, to get away, to flee this terrible place!

But then she was suddenly grabbed by her shirt and lifted up, turned to face into the eyes of a true monster.*

"You are mine this time, child."

*The lyrical, perversely beautiful words preceded a flash of teeth that lashed out at her. She had no time to shriek.*

*Morgan shrieked awake, violently lashing out against her attacker. She wasn't going to let Psallo get her! She couldn't! But Anna had turned against her! And Ascin was back! No one was there to help her! She was going to die! But when she finally got a bearing on her surroundings, realizing she was being held against a human body, and there had been no contact of teeth upon her flesh, she knew that all she had experienced was a dream, and little more.

But then she instantly broke into tears, crying pitifully as she clung to Anna, glad it was all but a dream. Had she not seen the face of Psallo Kyrie, she would have simply relaxed and apologized to Anna for her violent awakening, as well as ask what was happening. But that face, that horrible, beautifully evil visage, was the one thing that terrified her to the core, the one thing that could shake her and cause her to lose control of her emotions.

For a few minutes she simply clung to Anna, face buried in the girl's shoulder, tears soaking her vest as she sobbed and moaned. Finally, she started to catch her breath, her moans became mere whimpers, and she sniffled as she allowed herself to look around at their surroundings. It was still dark, but it looked as though it was becoming morning. Not a single dark figure or shadowy presence in sight; there was real light here, not the taint of darkness.

Darkness... The familiar feeling was growing ever closer. And yet... There was more? And not just the other horrible feeling she suddenly felt while they were running, but something else. Something closer than even the initial feeling. Three sources of familiar darkness?! Morgan had had enough. She wanted to go home now. She wanted to leave this planet, grab onto her father, bury herself in his arms, and never let go├óÔé¼ÔÇØ

They were here. She sensed it before she saw it, and she turned herself in Anna's arms just enough to catch sight of it: A massive fortress, tall and dark, both in appearance and in feeling. This was it. This was the source of the darkness. And now she knew. She could sense it, and it awakened in her the same feelings the dream elicited when the first three shadowy figures had appeared.*

Anna... this is it...
*Morgan's voice was but a whisper, her eyes locked upon the structure. Jack Mapio, Ascin, and now she knew the first figure, not by name, but by title. He was the Master of this place, this source of pure evil. The Black Star... They were here. This fortress was theirs. But it was... empty. Abandoned. Dark, cold, just like the hearts of the three figures in her dream. Suddenly she wasn't sure she wanted to be here. But it occurred to her that this was perhaps their best chance of finding a way off of this planet.

And it was certainly a favorable alternative to encountering Psallo again.*
