Re: Open Terrain

*Feeling his Force push meet resistance as he straightened from his crouch the Sith assassin smiled grimly. He had caught the lumpy grub mid-leap as planned and sent the little freak off course. He had seen Malus' whip snare the things leg before it had disappeared from view.
Malus' whip coming back missing a few feet of its length drew a snarling chuckle from the reserved man.

Reaching out with the frenzied power of the darkside, that swirled through him with unbridled fury, he tore the Phrikite rapier from the rockface and drew it to him. It landed with a meaty smack into his extended left hand and he spun it once before replacing it in its scabbard over his left shoulder.

Keeping his Lightsaber lit and in his hand he stepped up besides Malus as the Sith started to berate him through the Force.
His eyes went flat at Malus' words but he soon shook off his annoyance and strode besides the Sith Lord as they approached the prone form of the alien.*

<< Careful, Sithling, lest you burst a blood vessel. >>

*His saber swished between them as they walked, hissing spitefully through the cold air. He knew not what "Sweet thing" Malus referred to but from Malus' peculiar tastes he imagined it anything but sweet. Perhaps a drunken Gamorrean twi'lek with broken tusks and a serious case of over-active sweat glands...*

Re: Open Terrain

*Coiling his whip as he walked, as he reached the end of the long tendril, he scowled to himself at the loss of the tip. It was of course something that could be repaired, but that would take time and effort, and really, he would have preferred to no have to spend the time in Hyperspace on the way home, fixing something a snot-nosed little alien Jedi had so reprehensibly damaged. The time would have been far better spent daydreaming of "her". How irritating.

Casting a glance at Caed, he hissed through clenched teeth, spittle flying through the slit of a mouth in his mask, a display of his loathing towards the man. Burst a blood vessel indeed! The man acts impulsively without thought and nearly buries him alive, and Malus was under no illusion in thinking Caed would dig him out again, and he has the audacity to tell him to calm down? He should stab him in the face with a rock. Maybe he would.... but later.*

<< If I burst anything it will be your pancreas, you rash idiot! >>

*Approaching the stoic, prone form of the slimy-looking turd, he focusses his attentions on the body, watching for any sign of life, but more importantly wondering how to finish the job the most poetically. Of course, he wanted the Jedi's head, that went without saying, but he felt the situation called for something a little more.... flamboyant..... rather than just a stab through the heart. Looking to Caed, he shrugged his shoulders.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Eyeing the prone form of the Jedi arse-snot warily as they came to a stop a few feet away he ignored Malus' pathetic threat and moved his saber to a guard position between him and the lumpy foetus wallowing in the snow before them.
He wasn't one to take anything for granted and had allowed Malus to close a bit nearer than he had. If the thing had any surprises then Malus would get it first.
This pleases Caed and even managed to drag a smile out of him... If you could call the painful looking grimace a smile that is.
He gave a mental shrug at Malus' question, sensing that the Sith wanted something creative to be offered as to the decapitation technique adopted. Caed didn't really care. One swipe and done but if Malus wanted something special...*

<< Why not chew its head off with your awesome teeth, Malus? >>

*He found the concept amusing as he was unsure if the wreck of a man HAD any teeth left.*

<< Its not much of a neck and should be manageable even for you... >>

*But perhaps not. After all, Malus looked like the kind that had to have his food blended if he was not nil-by-mouth. Freak!*

Re: Open Terrain

*Grubby's consciousness returned at the most fortuitous of times. As the two Sith protagonists approached, his mind snapped his body into the now. Though his eyes remained closed to maintain the illusion, he was very much awake, gathering his senses and strength ready for the right moment to react. He couldn't hear their words, but could hear their footsteps near, and sense, and smell them as acutely as though he had been staring at them. One was close, so close that when he dared to open his eyes a crack to see through the blur of narrow slits, and lashes, he could see the boot standing mere inches from his face. The other was further back; the hum of his lightsaber giving him away.

There was no time to waste.*

*Pushing up with his arms, and springing himself in the Force, he flipped up high, landing on the shoulder of the closest Sith, and springing from him, using the man as a platform from which to leap, his lightsaber igniting as the little brown hairless creature spun, rotating, his blade slashing out at the back of the close-Sith's head, and turning to greet the other towards whom he had launched himself, a squeal of determination belted out, sounding like an antagonised "speak and spell" machine., his saber slashing down in a backhand downwards-diagonal strike towards Caed's right side, where neck met shoulder.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Malus almost laughed at the thought of chewing the alien's head off. It was almost tempting in fact. Could he? I mean, would it be weird if he tried it? As he thought about it, his free hand reached up to poke a finger into the mouth slit of his mask to touch his teeth, as though gauging how sharp they were, and whether it was a feasible option. Deciding against it, he reached for his knife, and unsheathed it, readying himself to hack through the cartilage-riddled neck the creature sported.

Malus's eyes would have widened with shock, had they been able to get any larger, as the little brown skin-bag leapt to life once more, flipping over his head, and landing on his shoulder for the briefest of moments, before launching itself off. He looked up just in time to see the flashing of a lightsaber coming his way, and raised his dagger in instinctive reaction, meeting the blade with a spark, the lightsaber resisting only briefly before melting its way through the metal knife without too much hassle.

It was long enough however, for Malus to drop himself into a crouch, and allow the lightsaber to pass by harmlessly overhead, as the midget poop went on to attack Caed in a flash of speedy movement. Malus looked to the severed dagger in his hand, to the gap where the blade used to be, and the melted stump it had now been replaced with. Anger boiled within as he discarded the now-useless handle, and coiled the whip back onto his hip. Taking his lightsaber hilt, he ignited the blade with a maddened flick of the switch, the scarlet blade extending with a crack and hum, before seeking for an opening to exploit to end this once and for all.*

Re: Open Terrain

*The little spud was fast but not fast enough to trouble the Sith. Unlike the eager, impatient, and obviously foolish Malus, he had expected some form of trickery from the Jedi ball-bag. None of them ever died easily and they always had some trick up their wizards sleeves to prolong their pathetic lives.

Striking at Malus first, though it seemed to use the other Sith as a stepping stone for its attack on Caed, had given him time to react and the slicing Malus' dagger had caused the fartlings blade to be out of position for a quick strike.*

*Flicking his saber up, hacking it across his body and out to the right, raising it to smash the brown hutt-butts saber high and wide.
Seeing that the Jedi's momentum was bringing it close Caeds left hand shot out to seize the scraggle neck in a vise-like grip.
Keeping his saber in position to ward of the flabby-flaps energy blade he hit it with a powerful psychik Force-Blast, a Force Punch for the mind if you will and, steadying himself with more power, squeezed.*

<< All yours. >>

*Holding the alien out to Malus he graciously offered the other Sith the kill.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Grublaps faltered as his blade was smashed aside by the Sith's defensive strike, and before he could think or compose himself, he was caught viciously around the throat. Struggling, he swept his blade back round to slice the offending arm that held him so tightly, to sever limb from body and free himself, but again it was denied access by the Force attack of the man that handled him. Kicking his stumpy legs, he found the distance too great to overcome, and so he dangled, struggling helplessly, trying as best he could to remain calm, but instincts not allowing complete control.*

*His neck stretched slightly, lengthening within the man's hand, lowering him to wards the ground. A thought sprung to mind, as Caed seemed to await the assistance of his companion, and it gave him just enough time to act. Allowing his lengthy spring of a neck to stretch to its fullest, his little feet found enough purchase as they touched the floor, and with that, he pushed himself upwards, and towards the Sith, catapulting him like a little brown weight at the man's chest, his free hand opening palm-forwards, and unleashing a Push in the Force to help free himself from entanglement, launching the alien backwards towards the approaching Malus.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Malus hissed an amused chortle as Caed caught the vile, fat blob of puss in his hand and offered the kill to him. With a curt nod, he accepted the notion, and stalked forwards, limping as he did so, lightsaber ready to make the final blow. It struck him peculiar that Caed would grant him such reward, perhaps he was warming to Malus on some level, or was this a dig at him on the sly; giving him the kill on a plate because he perhaps thought Malus could not have obtained it by himself. The notion ran through his mind, angering him a little, despite having no evidence to suggest that was the case, just as the alien reacted to his capture.

Hesitating, he watched in fascination as it jumped into Caed, then Pushed itself away, releasing itself, and propelling itself towards Malus like a cannonball. A cannonturd perhaps?*
*Malus barely had time to react, but dove regardless to his side and out of the way, watching as Grublaps spun-by overhead, before leaping once more to his feet and charging on the attack after the escaping Jedi, swiping his lightsaber across his body back and forth, trying to scythe down the blob into pieces before it had time to regain composure.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Teeth gritted with the effort of holding the struggling glob of flesh off the ground Caed sneered at Malus as the Sith limped towards them. Was the fool taking his time on purpose?*

<< Today would be nice... >>

*His blade flickered up of its own accord, it seemed, to bat the Jedi trolls saber back to a neutral position as it tried to swing his way. His mind was on the creatures death as, with an impressive display of determination, it broke free.*

*Not wanting to hang on to the scrawny neck and risk being impaled on his or its saber blade the assassin let go and took the Force Push in the chest. The resulting impact, first with the wall of air propelled by the Jedi and then with the ground when he struck, knocked the wind from his lungs.*

*The concussion forced only the second sound from his lips as he slid along the snow and crashed, head first, into a rocky outcrop. His mind spun as he staggered to his feet, blood running from a nasty scalp wound to mingle with the blood on the collar of his tunic from the broken nose earlier.
His eyes blazed with the amber light of his rage as he swayed on his feet for a moment before starting towards the the two combatants.
He stopped for a moment then shrugged. Malus was in the way but...
Fook it!
He let fly with a blast of Force lightening.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Grublaps continued his acrobatic retreat, spinning, hand-springing, back-flipping, twisting and turning, this way and that, leaping high and rolling low, each swipe of Malus's blade met with a theatrical but stoic defence, as the little Child of the Green Planet parried and reposted with precise diligence. He began to tire, however, as the Force-use in his Ataru moves drained him of reserves, demanding more and more effort and exertion to keep up the display that was necessary to fend off the Sith and keep his life.

His responses came in the form of swift stabs and random slices wherever an opening revealed itself, and time allowed it, though they were few and far between. Grublaps, for the first time, was beginning to think on a course of action to escape, rather than fend the duo off. It was becoming clear he could not out-last the pair of Sith, and to stand and fight was suicide. The Jedi needed to escape, but the method eluded him.*

*With a more forceful backwards somersault, he launched himself meters to the side of the man's assault, turning to Force Push him in the back and allow momentum to see him put distance between them. Lowering his lightsaber, he closed his eyes in focus to fell a large tree, the trunk caving-in and snapping in a loud crack that echoed down through the canyons below, the aged wood groaning as it leant, and slowly tipped, its weight overcoming its lack of foundations, and sent it tumbling towards the line of both the Sith, threatening to flatten them should they not seek evasive manoeuvres.*

*As he concentrated on the task, however, the Lightning struck his tiny frame, paralysing him just as the tree began to fall. His body shook in convulsion, smoke rising from the skin itself as he boiled and fried simultaneously. Rigid, his eyes flashed open, unable to comprehend the massive amounts of pain he now endured. His lightsaber fell to the ground and extinguished with a hiss from the snow it rested upon. Screaming aloud, he dropped to the floor, in unison with the tree, teeth clenched, his face a contortion of agony as he writhed and moaned at the whim of the Sith who assaulted him, unable to fight back.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Malus's frustration grew with each strike seeing nothing but air or blade in response to his attacks. He-too, however, was doing equal job of avoiding being caught, twisting his lithe, deformed body into positions and contortions that belied what one perceived as a Human physical form, narrowly, but expertly, dodging the attacks of the tiny, shrivelled testicle. As the Jedi leaped further from reach out to the side, he began turning to follow, devout not to allow the freak to escape. Mid-twist however, the Push struck him, and sent him careening off his feet, skidding harshly on the icy, rocky terrain. With a growl of anger, he picked himself up and shook himself off, eyes blazing with fury at the Jedi.

Looking as the tree's base snapped beside him and directed his attention, he knew what would follow, and figured what the plan of the no-good do-gooder was. He wanted to drop a tree on his head? Never happening!! Malus dashed forwards over to Grublaps, lightsaber ready, as the trunk began its lazy demise. About to strike a killing blow and take advantage of the distraction in the Jedi, he found himself inexplicably rendered motionless. It took a few moments to realise it was not the Jedi, nor the Force per say that prevented his attack, but his own muscles, as they reacted violently to the Lightning that ensnared him.

His eyeballs snapped towards the source, to see Caed maliciously assaulting not only their foe, but him too. The pain was agonising as it burnt its way over his skin, striking up memories of the incident those few years ago that had left him in this disturbing frame and face. His skin blistered in complaint, and Malus dropped to his knees with a scream of anguish, his lightsaber following that of the Jedi's to the floor at his feet. Though not unaccustomed to pain, he could do little to resist the overwhelming intensity of such a powerful force, and fell flat on his face, body twitching uncontrollably on the ground. In the back of his mind, a small part of him clung to the thought and memory of a certain someone, attributing fantasies to the pain he endured, leading him to actually....in a twisted manner....derive a degree of pleasure from what he suffered.*

Re: Open Terrain

*An evil cackled escaped his lips as he saw the small Jedi prune engulfued in the roiling maelstrom of Force energy that erupted from his extended fingertips. That Malus was also caught in the blast fazed him not at all and he kept the pressure on, ignoring the burn in his fingers as the tips started to blister and blacken.

Advancing a few steps he managed to steepen the angle so the stream of destructive Darkside energy ceased bathing Malus in its hateful embrace and poured more anger into the assault. His lightsaber shut donw in his hand and he absently returned it to his belt so he could extend his right hand and add to the punishment he was dishing out.

The crackle and snap of the bolts of blue death rang in his ears and prevented him from realising the danger he was in. A shadow fell acros him and he looked up, his face an amusing mask of confusion and interest. The confusion and interest soon turned to disbelief and amazement. They soon gave was to concern and dismay.

He staggered back a few steps, arms raising of their own accord, causing the lightning to race up the trunk of the massive tree that was ponderously tilting towards him. He had time to stop the lightning, skip back a few more steps, gather the Force to him in a protective cocoon before...*

*A great wave of snow was thrown up in the air to eithewr side and drifted around the fallen trunk as it started to settle. The great displacemt of air and the force of the tree striking the ground shook snow from tree's and ledges all around before the area became still and silent.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Grublaps groaned, exhausted, as the Lightning ceased to assault him. His body ached, his skin burned, his head throbbed, and his breath came in laboured wheezes not dissimilar to the ones uttered by the Sith that lay next to him. Rolling onto his side, or at least, trying to, he whinced with the raw pain he suffered, looking over towards where Caed had attacked from, to see a heavy tree trunk lying over the area, and no sign of the man himself. It was clear to him what had happened, and now if he could only summon the energy to move, maybe he could escape.

Turning tentatively onto his front, he placed his hands on the ground to push himself up, but struggled to find the strength in his knackered body to do so. Slumping to the icy floor, his face buried within the snow, breath slowly melting the cold blanket. He was done. He could do no more until he had rested. His eyes began to close uncontrollably, fatigue taking him despite his mind screaming for it to remain awake and conscious. Behind him lay the other Sith, and even the sound of that man moving did not grant him enough motivation to move.

All that was left was the agony.

All that was left was the memories.

All that was left, was the blackness that clouded him now.

Grublaps the Gatherer, the Jedi, the pioneer of his brethren, had failed his mission. His compendium of creatures, planets, people and histories, was lost somewhere on the open plains of this backwater planet, never to be found again, and never to be received by his kin, for whom he had embarked on this dangerous mission.

His fading memory fell upon home. The lush pastures, open spaces, and developing cities. How he missed that quiet, innocent world and life.

Grublaps the Gatherer; the lost Child of the Green Planet....*

Re: Open Terrain

*With the cessation of the torrent of vile energy from Caed, Malus rolled over onto his back in time to see the tree fall on top of his compatriot with a sickening thud, snow and shingle spraying upwards in a cloud as it struck home. Wheezing heavier then normal, struggling to overcome the burnt oxygen that seared his lungs almost as bad as the fire and smoke had from his accident, he looked at last at the prone figure of the wrinkled brown sprout of a Jedi that lay beside him. It had moved very little, and seemed to have given up after a momentary attempt to shift itself.

Malus had suffered far less than the Jedi, and found his strength much sooner. Sitting upright, he gurgled breath through the mask, blood seeping from the slit of a mouth-hole, secreted from his lungs as they battled the overwhelming assault they had suffered. Groaning in his whispered, rasping voice, he managed to scramble to his feet, despite the screaming protestations of his body, bending down to retrieve his lightsaber hilt, and kicking the Jedi's away and out of immediate reach.

Staggering over the few steps to the brown alien, he looked down at it. It looked pitiful. It looked weak. Malus had to wonder where it came from, what exactly it was, and whether there were more like him. And if there were, were there Dark-hearted ones amongst them? It mattered little now of course. The creature was out for the count, and rather than stand on ceremony, the Sith made swift decision to complete the job quickly, and not waste effort on display.

Igniting the blade in his hand, he swiped viciously, his eyes glaring at the body, as the humming energy blade sliced neatly through the tough cartilage in its neck, removing the skull with a spray of dark crimson. The head and neck rolled sideways its eyes open and staring back in horror at the Sith who had killed him. Malus returned the look, uncaring, unfeeling, and un-fazed. Taking to a knee, he reached for his dagger, and found no hilt greeting him. Looking down in momentary confusion, he then remembered what had happened to it, and shot a venomous look at the dismembered body beneath him. Taking his lightsaber, he growled as he carefully positioned the tip, and proceeded to cut the heart from the creature, removing it carefully from its chest, and wrapping it in a strip of cloth cut from its Jedi robe, before tucking it into a pouch on his belt. Taking the head also, carrying it by the floppy neck like a dead piece of poultry, he stumbled over towards the tree, wondering if Caed had somehow survived, or whether he was going to be flying home alone.

Not that he much cared either way.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Darkness assaulted his senses and the air tasted fetid and stale. Wrapped in a bubble of Force power and smashed into the ground with a terrific amount of kinetic energy, Caed had to offer a quick chuckle at his predicament. The chuckle ended in a cough and he quickly slowed his breathing, minimized his movements and tried to save the scant air.

It appeared that the impact of the tree had smashed him, safely wrapped in his cocoon of darkside energy, into the ground creating a crater underneath the fallen tree. Now several tons of wood (No gigidy) lay over him, a formidable barrier even for one such as him, blocking him from good air and the ability to move. The snow packed earth had yielded grudgingly to the weight and Caed felt battered and bruised all over from where he had been rattled around, like a dice in a cup, before coming to rest here.
Coming to rest...
An apt choice of thoughts seen as this may prove to be his final resting place. What an embarrassing way to go down. Squashed by a tree!

He shook of the negative thoughts and wiggled his shoulders to see how much give he had in his protective shield. Nothing. Not a gnats cock of give anywhere. With a sigh he tensed himself in the Force and gritted his teeth. Slowly, so as not to expend all his energy too soon, he pushed his sphere of power outwards and up. Ponderously the tree groaned, snapping and cracking noises echoing around the area at the stresses involved, and started to rise as an angle, trembling in his exhausted grip. One foot. Two. Three. It reached four then crashed to the ground besides the snow-covered indentation where Caed lay half buried.

For a moment nothing happened, the area drenched in silence once again with only the far away sound of the wind breaking the stillness. Suddenly a black gloved hand thrust up out of the snow and squeezed itself into a fist. It was followed shortly by the rest of the battered and disheveled Sith Assassin. His cloak had been completely torn away and his black combat suit was so torn he looked like some sort of Goth Rockstar. His hair was matted from the blood running down his head from the nasty scalp wound and he could hardly breath due to the throbbing and clogged broken nose.

He staggered upright and swayed lazily on his feet, gloves on his hands fingerless where they had burned away from the lightnings discharge.

His eyes found Malus and he flashed a drunken grin at the other Sith.*

<< That was fun! >>

*Even the voice ringing through the Force sounded slurred and blood run freely down the side of the grinning mouth.*

*They had made it back to their ship, neither speaking. Malus bearing his grizzly trophy. Caed bearing his grizzly apparel. Neither saw the need to speak. The job was done. The Jedi silenced.

The ship rose into the air and disappeared into the night.*
