Re: Yractos

*Vivian remained still, smiling at the little girl. She had noticed the patron, his face becoming clearer as some of the smokiness in the bar wafted away from his general direction. She saw him smile towards her and immediately a little fire began to burn within her. She closed her eyes momentarily and spoke in low tones to the child across from her.*

"Now, don't look, but over there on the other side of the room, there seems to be a man looking over this way. Do you recognize him? I don't know him but he's been watching us."

*Vivian smiled and continued slowly consuming her K-ration as she sat, waiting for this Sith to arrive. She was looking forward to meeting the Sith the little girl had told her about, she was eager to learn what her job would be...*

Re: Yractos

[npc name=Siras Touphul:2b3r11jx][narration:2b3r11jx]Sass sat on her stool, still swinging her legs back and forth after shaking the woman mercs hand. Vivian. Vivian... pretty! She beamed at the woman. She was very interesting. Sass was beginning to feel a tinge of gladness that she had stayed. Sure, she was missing out on stuff.... but this grownup wasn't so bad. She wasn't half bad at all. She had actually shaken her hand. Not many grownups did that. Not many at all. Sass squinted off into the distance as she thought about what grownups were usually like. They were usually oafish, and silly...never treating her as if she had a brain. Which Sass knew she did have... she had a bigger brain than a lot of grownups she knew of.

Sass watched as Vivian looked the bar over. The woman merc was smart. Sass' eyes narrowed. Not many people were that smart. She herself was seated so that she could see the entire room in the reflection of the mirror above the bar. Even though her back was turned so that she could not directly see most of the bar, she still had sight. She grinned and giggled to herself. And everyone always assumed she was just a little girl. Heck. She was a better fighter and a smarter thinker than half of the population of this city. Sass perked up and her head turned back towards Vivian. The woman merc was unwrapping something. what was it? Sass kept her attention focused on the item, curious. Her eyes brightened as the object was finally revealed. Chocolate! Sass licked her lips. She hadn't seen any of that for.... well for a while. Chocolate almost never made its way to this city. Sass' level of respect for the woman merc went up a notch. Anyone that carried chocolate had to be okay....

She eagerly reached out and took the chocolate from the woman. She wasn't going to turn down a free gift. Especially when it was chocolate. Mmmm.... Sass bit into the dark sweet food. The piece she had bitten off slowly melted in her mouth and she rolled her eyes, savoring the taste. She was so involved in her sweet that for once she missed seeing something before someone else. She focused on the woman merc as she spoke.[/narration:2b3r11jx]

"Now, don't look, but over there on the other side of the room, there seems to be a man looking over this way. Do you recognize him? I don't know him but he's been watching us."

[/quote:2b3r11jx]

[action:2b3r11jx]Sass didn't look in the direction that Vivian described, instead she let her eyes slide over to focus on the mirror above the bar. She continued to make a show of enjoying her chocolate but every nerve ending was on alert. She didn't recognize the man. His features were unfamiliar to her. But she did recognize his type. He was a predator. She frowned. Silly grownup guy. Interrupt her chocolate will he?... well he had better not do anything else. She wouldn't put up with some silly guy grownup messing up her plans. Her client, Spire, wanted a merc to work with.... and Sass would make sure she had a merc to work with when she made it finally back to the planet. This silly smirking man would not interfere.

A pout gathered on the eight year old girl's face as she ate the chocolate. She was ready for trouble. And she wouldn't be happy if her instincts proved right and there was some. Hardly without any thought, Sass cocooned herself away from the force. She was used to dealing with sith. This man sure smirked like a sith. She wrapped herself away from the force until she was no longer able to be sensed. She could be seen, but other than that it was as if she was not alive.... there was nothing where she was.... just empty space. The pout on Sass' face grew as she chewed on the chocolate. Silly men grownups.... She looked at the woman merc before her.[/action:2b3r11jx]

I don't know him. I don't like him though. He smirks just like a sith... do you know him?... [action:2b3r11jx]Sass paused mid bite, waiting for Vivian to respond.[/action:2b3r11jx][/npc:2b3r11jx]

Re: Yractos

*Vivian continued to consume what remained of her K-ration. She had begun to wonder who this mysterious watcher was, whoever he was, she'd never seen him before. She wracked her brain, trying to remember if there were any contracts she hadn't completed, or anything she may have done to anger one of her previous contractors, but she couldn't think of anything. She didn't like being watched, especially right now. It meant someone had been watching her, knew where she was, knew that she had moved.*

**Calm down Viv, it's not for sure. It could be anyone, could just be a random patron who happens to come in here every day of his frakking life. It's not important.* *She thought to herself.*

*Vivian placed the wrapper of her K-ration back into her backpack. You never knew when something as simple as a wrapper might come in handy, she'd needed one before, and she'd used on before. She offered her hand to Sass as she spoke.*

"Here, I can take the wrapper once you're finished. Do you want one for later?" She offered.

"I don't know the man, never seen him before. I don't have any enemies though, that's what has me puzzled. It could just be someone who comes in here regularly. And yes, I do agree... he seems to have that presence about him, something not quite normal." *Vivian watched the man carefully, unnoticeably through her peripheral vision.*

*Vivian sat patiently awaiting the woman Sass had talked about to appear. She knew well that most of the time, Sith were getting into things so their time schedules could never really be accurately calculated. The force. Something so unpredictable as that, it threw wrenches in plans and sometimes, it even took a shot at you, you just had to know how to roll with the punches.*

Re: Yractos

*Vivian sighed inwardly. This man had been ogling for too long now. He was definitely watching her. Why was anybody's guess. She figured it had to be because she was a woman. So many piggish men about this universe. She'd had yet to meet one who was kind and not double minded, most wanted more, they wanted something tangible... She was different. She wasn't looking for what one could offer physically, nor purely emotionally either. Another fact to be carefully weighed is the fact that she wasn't looking for anyone. Viv was perfectly fine on her own, and had been for a very long time.*

"So are you a force user? I've never really had the chance to speak with a child who was force sensitive, or anyone for that matter.. only on contracts and the like, nothing about life, or work... If you want to, you can tell me about yourself?"

*Vivian spoke because she was genuinely curious about this child. She still couldn't shake the fact that this girl reminded her of herself. As well, Viv hadn't ever really met a force sensitive person whom she really liked, or even talked to for that matter. There was one child, a long time ago when she was growing up who was force sensitive.. but he was an outcast, no one talked to him and his family kept him indoors most of the time. It was a disgrace to their family. She'd never really known what became of him, but that family must have moved away or traveled, or maybe they died. She never knew, but the other child and his family disappeared without a trace.*

*Kaiser didnt know who she was but he was sure gonna find out.He pulled out a small cylindrical tube and pressed a button.a small holo chart appeared. He set it the right angle so it was inconspicuous. The microscopic camera took a picture of the woman and fed it into the data stream. The program began to look for her identity and scrolled through her info. Out the corner of her eye she can see her picture on the holo chart.*

Re: Yractos

*Vivian smiles at the little girl, reaching back into her pack to retrieve another K-ration. She reaches out, trading Sass the K-ration for the empty wrapper. Vivian loved it when she could make children smile, she never really thought about being a mother, she wasn't terribly old and she'd never really liked the idea of having a child of her own but, for the time being she enjoyed caring for children, she liked to make them smile. She shifted in her seat slightly as she listened intently to Sass as she spoke.*

"Now now, that's no way for a young woman such as yourself to behave." *She said, sticking out her tongue at the little girl playfully.*

*Vivian continued to listen as the girl spoke about herself. She was very intrigued by this young girl, most children her age were not this resourceful, taking courier jobs, and others that Viv could only guess at. She was intrigued by the fact that this girl could make herself seemingly invisible to the force, it confused her. She didn't quite understand the analogy the girl had painted for her, but she nodded her head. She understood the concept however, and smiled, thinking to herself. She listened more as Sass continued to speak.*

"Sounds interesting, where do you stay at night then when you want to sleep? With this.. Spire?"

*Vivian got the feeling this girl liked to have fun, and when she said so, it made her smile. She liked hearing about this girl's life. Viv rarely got the opportunity to actually sit down and have a chat with someone, hear about how they were doing and learn about who they were. She was usually too busy working or sleeping to have much of a social life. To her memory, she didn't really have any friends and most people looking to hire mercenaries weren't looking for a female and so many of her past jobs did not produce a larger clientèle base, it simply erased their need for any contracts. However, she did have to admit, not having a decent ship of her own made finding contracts relatively hard; especially when dealing in off-world contracts which is where the real money lie.*

*Vivian noticed a light blue flash of light as someone activated a holo. At first she couldn't be sure, but then through her peripheral vision. She saw a reverse image, a grainy image, but it appeared to be... of her. All the alarms began sounding in her head, her immediate thought to draw her carbine and send a few bolts blasting through his body. Despite her instinct, she held back; instead continuing to listen calmly to the girl in front of her. Vivian made an unnoticeable movement with her eyes, trying to signal the girl to look over at the man without alerting him.*

Re: Yractos

*Vivian smiled at the little girl as she spoke about her life and how she made a living. She nodded her head in agreement about adults being stupid and never having any fun. This girl had a very good grasp on life, a very interesting perspective too. She appreciated the conversation.*

*Viv watched the girl as she drew the dagger, surprise showing in her eyes. While the man's actions had aroused her attention and made her a little worrisome, she did not want to make a scene, much less, she didn't want the girl to start a fight where there wasn't due cause.*

"There, there. It'll be alright. Nothing foul has come of it yet, we don't need to use our toys yet" She smiled.

*Vivian was happy that she had met this.. Sass. She had reminded her of several things about her childhood that she missed. She really did wish that she could just have fun again. In a way, she guessed she did have fun by doing mercenary work, but she missed the fun she used to have, not caring.

She grabbed the shoulder of a nearby waiter, requesting a drink. She wanted something fizzy. Something non-alcoholic. With a swift nod, the waiter headed off to get her a drink.*

"Did you want any food? I can always spare a few credits if you'd like something?"
*Vivian asked the young girl. She herself wasn't hungry but she figured it would be rude not no offer the girl anything, she did in fact land her a possible contract.*

Re: Yractos

*After being served her food, she ate it hungrily. She was upset, annoyed and somewhat let down as she crammed her food into her mouth, a very unnatravtive thing to do. She finished her food quickly, mildly upset that her contract had fallen through. She was irked and she wanted the world to know.. but no, she held herself together, gathering up her helmet and strapping it to her backpack, and slinging her rifle over her shoulder, she rose, deciding to head into the hangar. She needed a way off this rock, she wanted to find a contract and she'd been told long ago where she might be able to find one... there was one man. Now it was up to her to find him. But to find him, a ship was necessary and so, she rose, heading out of the murky bar and into the streets towards the busy and bustling hangar, her red hair blowing slightly as she strode confidently towards the hangar..*

Re: Yractos

*Vivian's footsteps led her into the hangar. Her eyes gazed out upon the ships bunkered there, locking onto one in the corner. It seemed like it had been forgotten about, cast aside and not touched for ages. This would be her ticket out of here. She'd come across a man, a man with money, and with connections, and for a few favors, and promises of favors, was granted access to one of the man's ships... a Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft that he'd purchased in hopes of modifying it but it was a hobby and task left unfinished. Without any further hesitation, she walked over to where it was nestled into the hangar bay and reached out to a panel on the outside of the ship, a doorway opening as she boarded the craft.*

*She did a quick survey of the ship, finding it in working order she laid her weapon within easy reach, her backpack and helmet resting in a mesh container against the wall. With the flick of several switches and a brief session of intense typing on her console, the engines started up, roaring to life. As the engine systems came online, she activated the weapon's systems, running diagnostics on the ships main and secondary systems in order to be prepared, to make sure the ship didn't have any deficiencies and if it did, she at least would know about them.*

*After several minutes had passed, the ship rose off the deck, headed for the hangar door. Once it reached the hangar door, it's engines flared, the Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft headed for the planet's atmosphere, ready to jump out into space...*

Re: Yractos

One hour, two bribes, sixteen threats and four mind-rubs later the Infiltrator was finally docked in a relatively secure area of Yractos and a figure clad in black robes glides throughout the city clearly in search of someone. She had been asked to come here and seek this person out after word had arrived that this man may prove useful.

As she moves effortlessly through back allies she sends out a mental call that lights her up like an explosion in the force, a call that would surely be heard by any Force Sensitive in the city, or at least the ones who had any real power to speak of.

This call contained just one clearly thought word...

Re: Yractos

*The five ships descended swiftly paying no heed to the traffic that flitted around above the city, cruising on near-silent engines punctuated with the occasional sonic boom. The yacht in the lead, four fighters slightly behind and to each side, they cruised into the spaceport and landed on the ferrocrete floor in a deserted hangar purposely made ready for their arrival. The Yacht rested on its hardstand and lowered its ramp as the fighters hovered protectively for a moment before settling down also.

Arrayed before the ramp was a row of honour guard, the local governor and military commander stood in front of them, the former wearing a worried frown, the latter a stoic look of disgust.

The Governor was called Peth Merta, a man in his late forties with a receding hairline and too much weight for one of his diminutive height. Nervous by nature this occasion had pushed him to the point where he had a permanent tick in his right eye. Dressed in flamboyant robes he would have looked dashing if not for his portly build and terrified expression.

The other figure was the opposite in almost every way. Of towering height and thin as a rake General Draast was the military commander of Gyndines forces, both naval and army. His expression of disdain was due to his dislike of how the new regime circumvented his authority and of sorcerous types the galaxy over. A career soldier he neither felt intimidated nor in awe of the Lord from the Dark Tide and wore his bruised ego openly like a festering sore.*

*With a dramatic hiss of steam booted feet appeared on the ramp, striding down it with slow, even footfall. Knee-high boots, polished to a brilliant sheen, were followed by dark blue trousers, so dark they appeared black and glossy. Lighter blue tunic belted at the waist, purple hip cloak and finally the darkly angular face set in a sardonically attentive expression. His hair was slicked back like some kind of rock star and the pale features, though schooled to modicum of serenity, still appeared murderous and demonic.

He stopped in front of the two representatives, no guard or aides just him, and cast his eyes briefly over the massed soldiers, a smile twitching at his lips.*

"Worried that I may cause a scene, Governor?"

*His voice was quiet, his accent clipped and studied.

Merta blinked his watery eyes for a moment, casting a glance at his colleague and horrified to see the General sneering at their guest. He stammered quickly hoping the Dark Lord didn't notice the ire in the military mans expression.*

=Merta=
"N..n..no my Lord. They are here for your honour..."

*He trailed off as Caeds burning amber gaze settled upon him.*

"My honour.... I wasn't aware that my honour needed a guard."

*H had, of course, noticed the dislike from Draast. It pulsed off him in waves, flooding the Force with the bitter taste of resentment and anger. Glorious. Caed couldn't give a Sithspit what the man thought though did toy with the idea of disemboweling him here and now. It was his assessment of Merta that stayed his hand. The fat idiot would no doubt feint and drag out Caed's presence here.

The man had paled so much that he was almost translucent as he gestured towards the government building.*

=Merta=
No, my Lord. Of course not. Your honour doesn't ne... I mean, I wouldn't kno... Um... This way please?"

*The bumbling man led him towards the offices, down the aisle formed by the ranks of soldiers. Caed studied them as he past and snorted softly. Not a true warrior among them and this peacock of a general would have to go too. More interested in looking sharp in his uniform than training his men...*

*Caed sighed as they disappeared inside, lamenting the amount of work he was faced with turning this planet into an adequate garrison for the Dark Tide...*
