*A flash if bright shocking light radiated outwards as a limping starfeld Z-10 Seeker erupted from the swirling maelstrom of hyperspace.*
*The vessel was heavily lilting toward its port side and even upon a cursory glance by any nearby vessel whom could obtain a visual would have been able to comment that the vessel had sustained significant damage to its port side. Once where had been the port pod capable of holding extra cargo, there was now an ugly jagged chasm as though some leviathan of space had taken a bite out of the vessel. Scorch marks and deep gouged pot marks peppered the vessels hull and a whispy trail of freezing vapor suggested that the vessel was leaking coolant of some form or another.
The port engine too seemed to have sustained lateral damage and the vessel was staggering toward the looming orb of Ossus on one sublight engine and a semi functioning sublight engine. How the vessel had managed to make the jump through hyperspace was anybodies guess, highly likely the engine had been hit just as the vessel made its jump.*
*The scout ship traveled toward the the growing sphere, the orange and yellow hued planet with its seemingly swirling plains of green began to fill the forward viewport. Inside the cockpit of the vessel a male humanoid with dark hair lay slumped across the console. Leaning forward at an odd angle thrown out of the pilots chair, his left hand still lay out stretched near the hyper space levers, his head lay slumped resting beside the arm a thick congealed pool of blood surrounded his head and the nearby console. The vessel effectively unmanned was headed toward Ossus on an unusual vector any attempts made by flight control would sadly fall on deaf ears.*
*Further down the corridor moving out of the cockpit lay a dead corridor, the air rolled thick and clammy with smoke, warning sirens blared and the green emergency lighting cast an eerie light upon the graveyard like scene. Upon the floor some four meters away from the cockpit lay the sprawled body of a woman, outward signs showed no sign of injury unlike her male counterpart. Her soft auburn hair cascaded about her form as dead unseeing eyes looked up at the ceiling, her mouth frozen in a gape as she had died in the throws of attempting to draw a breath of clean air.
To her left was a small magnetically sealed door designed to hold cargo. The small hold was sealed tight and its single whimpering occupant was thus protected from the toxic fumes that had taken his Mother.*
*Curled up in a tight ball knees drawn into his chest and arms pulled tightly around his short legs the young boy lay motionless except for the shallow ragged rising and falling of his chest. Wet silvery trails ran down his cheeks and his body spasmed as another sob took him. All around him now hung virtual silence except for the feint periodic siren. The young boy had no idea of time nor space and he lay curled up in this frightening space with no idea of what was to befall him. He prayed and hoped that one way or another it would just come to an end, or that he would suddenly wake and he would be warm and safe in his Mother's embrace.*
*The doomed vessel labored its way toward the possible safety of Ossus' atmosphere.*
