Open Terrain

*Tes, in her rage, ran straight at Jarik, no one else mattered now. As she got close she jumped and pushed off a tree to gain height. Bringing her knife back in a reverse position she swung it with full force downward at Jarik.*

*Tycho was suddenly throw backwards with the unexpected Force attack. He went flipping through the air, until he landed hard against a tree with a sicking crunch, and crumpled to the floor. The attack had caught him directly in the chest, and the end result was 4 broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder from the fall, and a concussion from the impact. Light a light turned off he was out.

Dack, still assisting Tomax uses the Sith's distraction as a great opertuinity. He aimes directly at his head and fires a burst of blaster bolts at him, followed by a full auto barrage at his midsection.

Bendaak and Wedge are about to move in on Jarik when they hear the crunch made from Tycho getting thrown backwards.*



*For Duxn, the stab from the lightsaber caused him to roar in pain, but it was a pain he had felt before. It would not shock him into inaction, and it had missed all the vital stuff. The pain brought him clarity, and with clarity he knew how he was going to win this one.

His left hand let go of the beskad and flashed out to grab hold over Jarik's right. Doing that, he would hold that hand as still as possible with all the strength he could manage, which years of harsh Mandalorian commando training afforded him a lot. If he managed to do that he would drop his right hand from the blade, opening his armor up to a slash, but he could stop that by grabbing on to Jarik's other hand arresting all motion there. This would prevent Jarik from being able to escape or use his lightsabers, perfect for Tes Vel to get a critical stab wound in, or allow Bendaak to set him on fire. Warmth was all Duxn felt as the flames engulfed him first, it played over his armor and body suit, which was built to withstand heat like that. Unfortunately, he hoped it was quick: it wouldn't last long.*

*30 streaks of flame burn their way through Trandosha's sky as they hurtle towards the planet's lush terrain. Upon closer inspection one could see that the streaking fireballs were actually escape pods and they seemed to be falling in formation, 3 groups of 10. It took mere seconds for them to crash into the ground creating great craters in the forests. Fire suppresion systems prevented any smoke from giving away the locations of the pods. One by one the escape pods opened and the survivors of the TITAN cruiser stumble out.

Each pod caontained 15 survivors. The contents of each pod were 4 Imperial Marines, heavily armed stormtroopers trained to board enemy ships or defend their own. 5 Imperial Navy Troopers, black clad imperial guards who manned turbolasers, guarded hallways, managed security systems and the like. 6 Imperial crew, men of various ranked trained in basic combat skills, however their real homes are in space.

The 350 Survivors began to fortify their position using the laser canons on their pods to strengthen their defenses as they sent out a distress signal.*

[action:3392vj5g]The grenade, being fired before the lighting could leap forth since the Sith Lord could not have time to expel it when Tomax fired as soon as the Sith appeared in 'the blink of an eye' and Tomax certainly was not running around with his eyes closed, nor did he blink at that second, did not explode as soon as it left the barrel and rather exploded on impact on the Sith Lord, especially since the grenade fired near the speed of a slug, for no lighting hit it, and even if it did, it would not matter, it was moving so fast.[/action:3392vj5g]

[action:3392vj5g]Tomax, only stumbling back somewhat from the blast that was not as close to him as it was the Sith Lord he just shot, the front of his armor carbon scored black from his own grenade, fires another grenade at the base of a nearby 'tree', and opens fire full auto on the Sith, causing the tree to fall in the direction of the Sith Lord Crucio, and spraying bolts at him while the Sith Lord Crucio was taking his time standing up, dramatically, and throwing off his burning cloak, dramatically, and extending his hand, and taking his time calling the 'force', for obviously after taking a shot like that, it would take considerable time to focus one's thoughts and mind, especially with the ringing and obvious concussion that would result of a point blank, on your body, blast that happened less than 30 seconds ago.[/action:3392vj5g]
[narration:3392vj5g]In combat, you don't have that time.

Combine that with the bolts from Dack, this force user would have to choose between several different kinds of death.
The incredible, overwhelming amounts of bolts only an expert and fresh to combat force user could deflect,
his own armor melting to his skin that would soon send him into shock unless he took time alone and without combat all around to focus his thoughts and mind on the force to heal himself and or just resist his body going nuts on him from the third degree burns,
the tree that was about to come crashing down on him, crushing almost every bone in his body,
Or the possibility that one of his brothers would cut him down to take his power.[/narration:3392vj5g]

[narration:3392vj5g]With Sith, there was always that problem.

This specker's lightsaber was going to be hanging on Tomax's belt by the end of the day, heck, by the end of the battle.[/narration:3392vj5g]

*Darth Crucio is focused on Tomax, he doesn't give notice to the to the other enemies around him. Soon blaster fire impacts his body, burning through his weakened armor and finally hitting his head. Crucio falls tot he ground and dies from his injuries...

Meanwhile Stryfe struggles to get up but is hit with blaster fire and flame...he is engulfed in the burning blaze and repeatedly hit with blaster fire, he to falls and dies...

With Crucio and Stryfe now dead it leaves Jarik alone to fight the rest of the mandos and Tomax alone.

Jarik grits his teeth as Duxn grabs hold of his right hand, And then his left. Duxn was physically stronger then Jarik and holds his arms in place. This prevents Jarik from moving his arms and he becomes locked up with Duxn. Jarik looks up as he hears another rage filled yell, Tes was coming at him knife at the ready. Through the force he senses another danger as flames erupt around him. Jarik had underestimated these mandalorians and it was costing him. Jarik was worn out from use of the force and didn't have the power to repel the flames. Jarik tries to absorb the death and pain from Tycho, Stryfe and Crucio and turn it into power through the darkside but it isn't enough.

Jarik drops his lightsabers, leaving the right still in Duxn and the left falls to the ground. Using all his strength Jarik pulls backwards and falls back. As he hits the ground Duxn would be over him and Jarik kicks upwards with both legs. The momentum of falling back and the kick would throw Duxn behind him and away from him.

Jarik was now engulfed in flame, his robes quickly burned away and his armor quickly heats up and in some places fuses with his skin, and in the areas where there is no armor are burned. Jarik holds in a yell from the intense pain, but like Duxn feeds off of it. It gives him power, clarity and calm. It gives Jarik the few seconds he needs to regain some composure. Then Tes falls onto him, Jarik holds her arm at the wrist stopping the knife as it hits his armor, the blade goes into his body about 2 inches before stopping. Jarik uses force body, to allow him to operate on above human level for a few minutes. Just enough. Jarik uses Tes's momentum to roll to a crouch while holding Tes, then with his last bit of power uses force leap.

During all this time Tes and Jarik would be covered in flame making it hard for the other mando's to see them. So When Jarik leaps out of the fire with Tes they may or may not see him get away. Jarik lands high in the canopy from his force leap, he is holding his left hand over Tes's mouth and with his right he pulls the knife out. It would only be a matter of moments before the Mandos may track his posisiton.*

[action:1evac4uc]The tree crashes to the ground with a loud *THUMP*.
Tomax walks carefully over to the Sith now partially covered by the trunk.
He fries two shots into the Sith's chest, and another one into his head.

He then spins around and steadily walks closer to the flaming combat, at the low ready, waiting or a clear shot.[/action:1evac4uc]

*Wedge runs over to Tycho and begins to take care of him medically. Dack runs towards Duxn's position, scanning the area for the Sith. Bendaak cuts the fire, but is shocked. It was only an automatic response that he leapt at the lightsaber, and turned it off. Most people would hold it, instead he took out his pistol and shot it to destroy it.*



*Duxn had indeed been kicked over, and was laying on his side, the lightsaber still active. His beskar'gamn had prevented it from moving around unhindered which would have gutted his insides, but instead held it in place. With a final gasp he turned the blade off, and lay there.

Pain... Pain and torture like he had not felt in years racked his abdomen. It had cauterized the wound however, which meant no bleeding out. Pulling out a pistol, he staggered to his belly, and got to one knee.*





*With the recommendation of their pilot and brother taken, they begin looking around with the thermal imaging mode in their HUDs. Two suits formally on fire would give off a tremendous signature, and would for a while. If they could find them.*



*Keeping calm, the others fanned out, searching behind trees and brush. To increase the distraction and provide further cover for Wedge, they would pop out of cover firing their blaster rifles, or in Bendaak's case light the brush on fire. In the seconds it took for them to keep up the act down below, Wedge was lining up his shot from a tree next to Tycho's unconscious form, in a place that Jarik had not fought in. Taking aim at the bigger of the two heat signatures, he aimed right for his head, and fired.*

*The fire that engulfed her and the others fitted her mood perfectly. She felt the blade pierce into Jarik's armor the same time hand grabbed her wrist. Without warning she was pulled swiftly into the tree tops. Jarik's hand wrapped around her mouth to keep her from yelling in rage.s Jarik reaches to pull the knife out of his shoulder, Tes pulls out her Dc-15 sidearm. Aiming the blaster at Jarik's leg she pulls the trigger, sending out two shots.*

*Jarik's leg is filled with pain as two shots from Tes's sidearm hit his left thigh. The first shot burns through his leg armor while the second sears into his flesh. His leg gives under the weight of himself and Tes. He reflexively holds on tighter to her they begin to crash through the canopy. With Jarik and Tes dropping, Wedge's shot narrowly misses Jarik's head, Hitting the tree were his head used to be.

Jarik's body was beginning to shake, the first symptoms of shock were setting in. Jarik gritted his teeth as each branch broke with the impact of Tes and him hitting it. His anger began to boil over, he was a Sith Lord, and he was being bested by a few mandos. Jarik uses this rage to power the force to numb his wounds, forcing his body to work. With his hand so close to Tes's neck he quickly hits her in her armor's open neck segment. This would hit her main pressure point. If it worked it would render her paralyzed for a few minutes, he has the advantage of the sudden falling surprise that Tes would feel so he could hit her pressure point. Having fallen half way down the tree, Jarik takes off one of Tes's thermal detonators from her belt and throws it above them. The explosion erupts over head engulfing the majority of the canopy in flames. This would disrupt any thermal tracking and most sensors the Mandos were using to track them.

Jarik begins to slow himself by jumping from the remaining branches and finally landing on the ground. The force body technique was beginning to wane and he was breathing heavily...pain was quickly starting to return and Jarik follows his training. He had no power left to fight. Just enough to Run. Holding Tes, Jarik takes off into the forest. He knows many force users in the past had survived much worse wounds and still fought on, so it wasn't impossible for him to use what strength he had left from the Force body and the force to flee. Though he would not be able to go far or use any force powers, he could still move.*

*Tomax, from farther way, watched the whole thing through the 3X scope on his weapon.*
*He heard the shot, saw the blast, and saw the movement in the forestation.*
"Who'ever is still up, follow me. He's not getting far in the condition he's in."

*Tomax ignites his jetpack and lifts low into the air.*
"Use your thermals again."

*The man they were looking for was wounded in a leg, had taken fire damage, probably going into shock, his friends, if Sith ever have such, had just died around him, which everyone one knows takes a toll whether you want it to or not, he's exhausted after chasing and tracking us through the jungle and fighting intensely with overwhelming forces, let alone his own three or four people he was fighting hand to hand, and struggling with one while leaping into a tree, then fell out of a tree, breaking half the branches on the way down, that would cause a concussion or two, or perhaps broken or cracked bones, or even knock the wind out of him, and he was carrying another person that probably weighte in around 160lbs plus armor that would be about over 200lbs.

So he's limping, heavily, out of energy, trying to breathe, possibly going into shock, running blindly into the jungle, trying to get through thick foliage that could trip and grab and wrap and hold, and carrying nearly 200lbs of dead weight with him.
When you help someone, they help you regardless if they want to or not, if they are awake. When someone is out, they are no use to you whatsoever and holding them becomes considerably harder.

And if he is force exhausted, he won't get 100 feet, especially with all that pain he must be experiencing, cause pain..in it's earlier stages gives you focus, later, it just saps your focus, and energy, and morale, and motivation.*

*And there he was.*

*Tomax spots the man crashing through the brush with the armored female in his hands.
Grabbing on to the near top of a tree, Tomax hides behind the trunk a bit and fires a shot off, with plenty of leading room so as to not actually shoot them or the girl, right in front of the Sith, hitting the foliage there in order to make him think twice about moving until the other men could surround him.*

*From the depths of the darkside a power comes to life, Thrakk extends himself through the force touching his apprentice. He gives the Jarik the needed last push to finish his mission. in Jarik's mind he would hear his Master's words*

*Thrakk knows that his words would help keep the fire burning within Jarik and give him the strength he needs...*

*Tes gave a grin of satisfaction when her shots hit Jarik in the leg. But the satisfaction was short lived when the sensation of free falling took over her body. She let her guard down for an instant to reach out and grasp onto something, but a sharp pain stopped her short. Her arms fell to her side and her body went limp. Fear spread through her when she realized she had no control of her body. With no control of her limbs she had no choice but to be dragged through the forest.*

*Thrakk's ship enters the atmosphere, cloaking active it flies to the coordinates given by the Imperial Admiral in orbit. After a matter of moments the ship lands just inside the perimeter made by the survivors. As the ship cools down and cloaking is deactivated, the landing ramp lowers. Thrakk walks down the ramp, his black robes billowing in his wake behind him. His dark red and black armor giving of a slight shine as the sun hits it. Behind 30 Sith Warriors exits the ship. Thrakk looks around the quickly built fortifications and calls out for the man in charge.*

" I am Darth Vereor, who is in control here "

*The ground in front Jarik explodes lightly sending dirt into the air from a blaster shot. How they were able to see him in the dense underbrush was beyond him or catch up to him so quickly through the dense forest. But there was nothing questioning could do, somehow they had found him and they were shooting at him again. Then Jarik felt it...his master had come. He could feel his presence not more then a hundred yards ahead of him. Jarik knows he can't make it, even at sustained speed and using the foliage and terrain around him, they would miraculously still find him.

As Jarik keeps running he moves behind a large bunch of thick bush just after the shot impacts the ground, as he steps into the middle the 15 ft brush the ground beneath him caves in. Jarik and Tes fall through a man sized hole and descend a steep but steady underground slop. Jarik rolls to a stop landing in dark cold water, Tes next to him. She would be coming around in a few minutes and Jarik had to be ready. Propping himself up Jarik pushes his himself up against the stone wall of the underground cavern. Sitting the water came up to just under his chest...Jarik realizes they must be at least 30 feet below the surface. This gives him a sense of calm for he had fallen while in the middle of the brush making it impossible for who was ever over head to have seen where he had gone, and the rock/ cold water would disrupt any senors or scanners they were using to track him. This would buy Jarik some time...not much but some.

While he waits for Tes to come to, he removes his Sith Mask...as he does part of the right side of his face comes off with it from the armor melting with the skin, leaving an open burn wound covering his cheek. Good for him that by now his burns had numbed, especially the wounds covering his lower body thanks to the water. This allowed Jarik to focus and calm himself...soon the force begins to return to him, slowly building his strength back up. Jarik removes his shoulder armor and then his chest piece...with the his upper body armor off Jarik breathes easier and puts pressure with his right hand on his knife wound in his left shoulder. Jarik keeps his breathing slow and deep and continues to focus on the force...2-3 minutes and Tes would be up.*

*Tes could hear and see some of the commotion going on around her, she couldn't get a better look do to the lack of control to her body. Without warning the ground gave out bellow her and her captor sending them both reeling into the darkness blow. Every ounce of Tes's instincts wanted her to grab a hold of something to stop the decent but nothing would respond, instead she fell like a rag doll until she came to a sudden stop at the bottom.*

*She stared dazedly up at the roof of the cave, it took her several seconds to realize that she was laying in several inches of water. The cold water brought a numbing sensation to her body, dulling the pain and bringing movement back to her body. She stretched out her fingers and dug them into the rocky soil below the water, sinking her hand deeper into the soil grabbed a hold of a large rock. With both arms working she began the argues task of sighting up. Letting out a growl of frustration she forced herself up off the watery floor and into a sitting position, the bangs from her soaked her stuck to her face and water ran out of her armor. Turning she spotted Jarik sitting a short distance from her. Rage filled her face as she forced herself to stand on shaky legs and took a few wobbly steps toward him.*

"You!" *She hissed out in rage, her hand gripped the rock even tighter. Words seemed difficult to process due to the lack of control to both anger and her jaw muscles.* "What..why are..you here?!"

*Tomax watched the specker pause for only a second as if it was surprising they could find him even with everything moving as they crashed through the brush loudly, and only 100 feet or so from where they landed, and with blood going everywhere, and with thermal imaging, and with a birds eye view, and then keep running.*

*He was using the girl for cover.
And guessed Tomax would not take the shot because he did not want to shoot her.*

"Coward." *Tomax mumbled as he watched the force user dive into some extra thick foliage.*

*Then it hit Tomax.

Why was there Jungle here in the first place?
The planet's log said nothing about it, no where.
Savannas, mountains, ect, but no jungle or thick forest.

Locals must have planted it or something.
Either that or someone screwed up somewhere, BAD.*
*Was the Sith waiting for him in that brush?
Or waiting for reinforcements that he had somehow managed to call?
Or was he calling for them right now with some kind of force speak mind spast?

Too risky to fire into the folliage.
Thats why you dont get caught.*

*Tomax takes a different grenade round from the bandoleer.
He fires it into he thick foliage while dropping down with his jetpack.
He follows the obviously crushed underbrush and busted and bent twigs that comes from two large bodies tromping through the woods while wounded and making a very hasty escape.* *There was plenty of blood to follow too.*

*He comes straight up to the hole in the ground and looks in with his rifle, then takes another flash grenade out and fires it into the pit.*

*It was probably so dark down there, if anyone could see yet from their eyes adjusting, they wouldn't be able to for long.
The grenade would disorient as well as blind in daylight. It would work miracles in the dark.*

*Thrakk nods to his Lead Warrior as he speaks to the commanding officer of the survivor camp. Thrakk looks back at the surviving soldiers and naval personnel*

" Prepare yourselves to leave...we do so on my return."

*Thrakk draws on the force gathering his power, he leaps over the barricades and enters the terrain followed by his 30 Sith Warriors. He is only a 100 yards from Jarik...at a quick pace he would be there in a matter of minutes. Closing in Thrakk hears a large bang...must be the result of a grenade explosion. Thrakks anger was near it's peak...he had been drawing on the force sense he left his ship giving him a large reservoir of power to draw from. Thrakk looks up ahead, he can see a large portion of the foliage ahead flattened and burned which confirms his thoughts about the grenade. Being about 80 feet from the area, he can see a man working his way in through the area that had been recently hit by the explosion. Thrakk with his 30 warriors behind him, 15 on each side advance on the lone man.*

[narration:22ddek3g]Jarik opens his eyes to see Tes standing up. He laughs lightly under his breath, wincing Jarik moves slightly and then looks up into Tes's eyes[/narration:22ddek3g]

[color=#00FF00:22ddek3g]" We have to stop meeting like this...first you shoot me on Tantooine and now you stab me *pauses to breath* I told you what Brijus did to you will always keep you connected to us...you know the terms you left Ossus under. You broke them, you know what would happen when we found out" [/color:22ddek3g]

[narration:22ddek3g]Jarik could feel the force stirring within him. He would soon be able to stand again. Already his wounds were healing. As Jarik finishes a blinding light erupts inside the cave...it lingers for a while then fades, a ringing hammers Jarik's ears and he is momentarily blinded[/narration:22ddek3g]

Right as he fires, Tomas jumps in, jetpack slowing his fall.
Right before landing near Tes, BEFORE anyone blinded by the flash grenade had time to recover, he fires a grenade round that would shatter the rocks and wall above the sith, causing him to be buried in debris until Somone fished him out.
Reaching out for Tes, if she so accepted, he would rocket them both out of that hole and away from any MORE ambushes that might MAGICALLY appear in the middle of the jungle that was not supposed to exhist.

*Tes's cold ice blue eyes stared into Jarik's. Before she could respond a blinding flash went off close to the two of them, instinctively she shut her eyes and turned away from the light. She looked up just in time to see Tomax reach out his hand, stretching out she grasped a hold of it.*
