hey malice, there has been some talk about this battle and questions if it is a part of the larger ME NOE war.
it wasn't my original plan for it to be a part of the war, but the suggestion does seem interesting.
we haven't really talked about making this Rp planned, or what not,
so I'm throwing it out there for consideration:
they way this is shaping up, this Rp could be pretty interesting. do you wanna collaborate and work something out? maybe see if we can't make this battle first rate?
perhaps we can raise the planet to silver.
what are your thoughts?

either way, I need the Rp practice, lol.

That sounds like a great idea. On mandalore I've been told that i'm on my own, and it's only with a little side stepping that i got phoenix here at all. If mandalore orders phoenix to leave and return there, i'd be on my own. after a fight with the fleets and it's clear i can't win, i'll retreat in space, forcing the men down below to stay behind. A land battle can take place.

I am going to have to agree with Diath on this Malice. I blew your comm relay, which you said does not exist. We all know on the surface, in order to maintain effective communications beyond squadrons, you would need to have a relay system for the comm link.

Now you said that you have information travel up and down the ranks, and yet you mobilized an army of some 500,000 men. If you ask me, that would take a long time to get messages through the ranks.

Also you give the impression that generals have comm systems in order to communicate with the ships, now the ship contacting you is believable because they have their own relay system, but the thought that you can reach a ship in orbit with an ear piece alone is extremely sketchy.

Your units are all way too organized and seem to know exactly what is going on, which is not really possible when you have no proper communications network, can you please explain this to me?

I'm certainly for collaboration,
so are you suggesting Phoenix leaves and say, you and I duke it out in a fleet battle?
Or did you want Dragus and pheonix to pair up?

as i figured it, dragus would hold off momentarily: it looks like the mandalorians have more defenses then previously thought. They repel your fleet with light to moderate damage, then pull back. After a heated debate over open channels, it's clear phoenix has been ordered to leave and despite himself he follows orders. malice prepares to fight when two fleets appear, and now out gunned he gets damaged, and must make a desicion: fight and die honorably or retreat and live to fight another day. He regrets it but his choice is the latter.

So just to make sure I have it right...

-Havok and Dragus' fleets attack, but are forced to pull back after encountering heavy mandalorian resistance. After fleeing momentarily, Phoenix has to leave, and as soon as he does, Hav and Drag jump back in and resume the attack against the then smaller force. Following which, Malice escapes to fight another day.

If that's correct then I'll focus maybe on Phoenix then since Hav and Mal are already engaging each other tactically, just to avoid confusion. See if you can't pester him into getting a post up sometime today.

I've got two other RP's going that have stalled on me so I'm definitely eager to get in some posting.

I figure that the first part of this was aimed only at dragus.

dragus, becuase malices fleet is on the other side of the planet, there are no orbital defences on the opposite side to prevent you from landing troops.

You land and since there are like 500,000 mandos, you encounter heavy resistance on the ground. they repel your landing parties, before retreating and leaving the beach heads undefended.

As Havok begins to engage the enemy, there is a comm discussion amoung the mandos, and pheonix and his ships leave.

then Havok and Malice duke it out in orbit.

Around this time, you have finished landing your troops and you orbit the planet to aid the Doomsday Fleet against malice.

then Malice chooses to fight, or cut his losses and run.

I beleive that was the plan. correct me if i was wrong malice.

Ah, that sounds a lot better to me. I'm not so big on the whole fleet engagement jazz. The ground is my preferred location of choice because I get to rock my NPC's and such.

I'll wait off then until we get confirmation from Malice.

Oh another thing I need from malice before I finish my post.
the exact location and orientation and altitude of his fleet.
I've been assuming he would be travelling east-west around the equator, at roughly the altitude of the international space station.

Just to confirm that,
If the earth were taanab, I'd assume you were hanging out over africa, or columbia.

Its more likely that the capital city of a planet would be at the equator since the rotation of the planet would make space flights easier(a 1000 MPH boost into orbit, Orbital speed being around mach 23-24.) so I assumed your fleet, and the capital city would be at the equator.

yea i guess we can assume that. The fleet is a little past that i think, though the dar'yaim is further away then the rest but closing in.

Didn't see your post gentleman. And as it is, there are roughly 40ish generals out in the fight hunting down sith, you don't think that there's one near by? Now let's see, landing and then getting to the city while my transport is right behind you? You don't think i would have seen you leaving? And it's a droid, a force user wouldn't have problem moving a mine.

Now you mention a comm relay being blown, let me ask you this. How can you run in shoot defenders, planet charges and escape in a post? Even if I had posted there was one, how am I suppose to use it when you can destroy it inn 2 minutes. You're using armor that isn't even approved, so i could call you on that. There are multiple channels to a comm link, like emergency channels, platoon sub channels, company/battalion/division channels, etc.

It might have sped up the response process a bit if you voiced your concerns politely instead of throwing tact completely out the window. You are more than allowed to disagree with something Malice did, though you have little right to be so blatantly rude in doing so.
