Re: Command Center

*Aerandir now had a good look at his daughter and her current state. He frowned sadly at her; he didn't like to see her like this. He reached out to stroke the hair above her left ear as she looked at him, then, when she drew herself against him and held his shoulder in a death-grip, he put his right arm around her to hold her close, and reached up to his right shoulder with his left hand to hold the hand on his shoulder in a loving manner.

He knew why she wanted to come. There were people that, when something horrible like this happened, wanted to remain alone for some time, and there were people that would seek the company of those they loved. Morgan was the latter, and there was no way she wanted to be away from people who loved her. He leaned his head forward and rested it gently on hers, rocked back and forth slowly for a moment to comfort her, then looked up at Ambar expectantly. He didn't say a word; Ambar should know what Aerandir wanted him to discuss.*

Re: Command Center

*Ambar frowned, folding his arms across his chest as he watched Aerandir have a discussion with his sister and his daughter about whether or not they wanted to come with him to Contruum. While Michelle was talking, he looked down at Samantha, initially considering her potential decision whether to stay or go, as well, but he soon found his thoughts drifting to other subjects, though they still focused upon her.

There was something to Samantha. Something that, though she was an exact copy of Michelle in terms of her physical cloning, set her apart from Michelle in a way that he could tell the two apart even without identifying their Force-signatures first, and it wasn't the scar on Samantha's elbow. Her demeanor, her expression, the way she carried herself... Her life had not been the same as Michelle's, and her training was probably different, as well. All of these differences were only very subtle, but Ambar recognized each and every one of them easily.

His attention was drawn away from her when he heard Morgan's shaky voice. By the time he looked at her, though, she had already drawn herself back into her father's arms. He frowned, doing his best to keep from looking sad. Of course he was concerned for her├óÔé¼ÔÇØby all rights, she was his niece now├óÔé¼ÔÇØbut he had broken down and displayed emotion already, in front of Samantha. He didn't like it, only what the results were, and that was her deciding to trust him. And expressing care wasn't exactly a strong point of his... "Yet."

His thoughts were interrupted when he saw Aerandir's expectant look. Briefly, for a moment, Ambar's eyes widened, speculating his "brother" had read his thoughts and wanted him to attempt to comfort Morgan, but he relaxed immediately, realizing that wasn't what Aerandir wanted him to do.*

Samantha...
*He had kept his gaze on Aerandir for a full second, then looked down at her. Samantha had heard everything Michelle, Morgan, and Aerandir were discussing, so she knew that the farthest she would go, like them, would only be to Contruum, to spend some time together on an unknown world with an unknown boy while the three men went on a big mission together. However, it would be better than staying here with nobody she knew, and, now that she thought about it, she didn't exactly want to reunite herself with her old Master, no matter how temporary it would've been.

She knew what Ambar was going to ask before he even spoke, but she remained silent and let him ask anyway.*

... You gonna come with us?
*Samantha immediately nodded. She wasn't about to just stay here.*

*Ambar was surprised at the ease of which she had decided her answer. He shrugged, satisfied.*

*He turned to face the exit, tapping Samantha's shoulder as he did so, indicating she follow. She did, as Ambar glanced back at Aerandir.*
See you in the hangar.
*He made for the exit, Samantha on his heels. The two of them hit the keypad to open the door, then headed out into the hallway, turning towards the direction they came for the outside exit and the hangar as the command center's door shut behind them.*

Re: Command Center

*Bix and Shells arrived outside the entrance to the command center. Bix supplied the keycode and the two slipped inside. Officers on deck greeted Bix, and the officer on duty stood at attention, asking if there was anything Bix needed. Bix only nodded and spoke quickly.*

*This only served to make Shells even more uneasy. Fortunately, the men on duty were sharp and trained men, and only reacted with quick reflexes, giving Bix a confirmation and setting about to work, relaying communiques to the Knights and security on duty to step up and prepare for an attack, make sure no child was found outside the Academy, and make sure none left the building.

Once this was accomplished, Bix only nodded to them and left with Shells, who kept close to her brother. This whole situation was making her uneasy, especially since the last time there was an invasion, well, she had cried, which was how fearful she had been then due to the horrific scenes of the Plague War. She didn't want anything that fearsome to happen and cause her to react in such a way again... And she could only hope that her big brother Bix would protect her...*

Re: Command Center

*Aerandir was present on the world at the time of the message. At that time, he had just completed another lesson with Michelle, Morgan, and Annabelle on the new language the small group had been learning, and had let them off for a bit. He had then been contacted after the message had been received and was asked to come view it, to which he complied and made for the Command Center.

Upon arriving, he greeted the men and asked to see the message, then it was played for him. Aerandir watched the image of Master Sarrow, indeed recognizing him, and listening to the message. "Relocation of the Echani race..." he thought. Interesting prospect, and good to know that they would not cause harm to Belkadan's current population, and, indeed, the thought of a race's relocation to one world only sounded like a way to boost Belkadan's prosperity. And a quiet, peaceful, and way out-of-the-way world like Belkadan would be a great place to help keep them safe for a while...

Considering both this and the vast amount of space on the world for potential development, seeing as Kodeiv was the only large settlement on Belkadan apart from perhaps a few small ones spread across the world, Aerandir nodded to himself, trusting the Jedi's judgment and believing Belkadan was more than capable of housing the race for as long as they needed it. And so, he began to prepare a holo-message to send back to Barden, stepping onto the transmission pad and beginning to speak as soon as the officer gave him the signal.*

:: A pleasure to hear from you, Master Sarrow. I have considered your request, and I would be willing to offer shelter to your people for as long as they would need it. When you receive this message, consider this my approval, and please give me an estimation of when you may arrive so that I may personally greet you upon your arrival. ::
*Aerandir then nodded to the comm officer, who ended the feed. Aerandir then stepped down from the transmitter and paced across the floor, but did not make to leave yet, should Barden's reply come sooner than he thought.*

Re: Command Center

*After his brief meeting with Ambar and Samantha in the storage area, John found his way back to the command center before he recalled that he did not recall the passcode for the command center's entrance. Fortunately, it seemed, the keypad started to operate on its own, and the door slid open before him. He looked inside as several officers looked around towards him to see who was there. Some recognized him and looked away. Others were somewhat taken aback. But immediately, upon a holoprojector on a console, a blue figure of a woman appeared, putting up a hand to reassure the others.*

*This only seemed to slightly reassure the ones who weren't familiar with the man, as they seemed to only reluctantly turn away back to their assignments. John paid them no mind and strode into the room, looking at nothing but Cortana. He had his topic picked out. He had his questions to pose. And as he stood before the hologram intending to speak this, he was cut over by Cortana.*

*It didn't take John hardly any time at all to realize that Cortana had obviously been watching him through the security systems. At least that saved him the trouble of asking the questions. But now John had to be sure of some other things.*
How will you know how to control it?
*There was no sign in Cortana's frame that there were any factors to be concerned about that John could see. John could only hope that meant that Cortana had a clear method of doing so.*

*John tightened his mouth in a firm expression, considering her words. She seemed very sure of her reasoning, and she was right: He didn't want to just stand there and listen to a big long explanation. However, he also wanted to know exactly how sound her reasoning and computation was... He didn't want to risk being torn to shreds upon an attempt to return home either. John's fists clenched and trembled visibly, and Cortana noticed this. With a look of concern and some reassuring, she immediately started to speak.*

*John didn't need the explanation; that Cortana was sure of herself enough to begin the explanation was good enough for him, so he cut her off immediately.*
No. That's enough. I'll leave you to your work.
*John immediately turned away from Cortana and started to head for the command center's exit. Cortana watched him, with mixed feelings. That he was finally being open with her and everyone else again was a good sign, but he knew that this whole mess of getting them home was distressing to him, and she couldn't blame him; her own processors were starting to take something of a toll from trying to iron all the details out. But she was getting there, just had a final few changes to make in the formula... She watched John as he vanished behind the exit, then simply faded away, back to her work.*

Re: Command Center

*Bix had one last stop to make. He suggested the others should head on to the hangar while he stopped outside the command center, supplying the access codes to open the door. He set down two of the bags on the ground just inside, then entered himself. He began to explain to those present that something had happened to Morgan and Aerandir would be away for a short time, but Cortana herself appeared and told him that she had done so already. Bix frowned, then only nodded as Cortana indicated the slot where her chip was, then her form vanished and the chip ejected. Bix took the chip and pocketed it, then headed back to the doors and the bags. He took up the bags again and stepped back out into the halls, following after the others, who hadn't gotten far since he hadn't taken long, and they all continued to the hangar together.*

Re: Command Center

*The halls of the Academy showed a stark contrast to the victory scene in the hangar. Where there were only cheers and smiles and a general feeling of joy, here was much more solemn. Blaster bolt scorched the walls, floor tiles were broken and displaced, bodies├óÔé¼ÔÇØsome in one piece, some not├óÔé¼ÔÇØwere strewn everywhere. There was still the matter of the gaping hole in the Academy, thanks to the assault upon it.

The command center was still locked down, protocol being observed even in the face of this momentous victory. Good. Aerandir smiled to himself, supplying the necessary keycode and entering the center. The officers inside stood and clapped, but Aerandir instantly silenced them by removing a hand from Morgan and gesturing for quiet.*

It's not over yet. I need status reports on the ground engagements, and a damage assessment of the Academy itself.
*A handful of officers acknowledged, sending verbal communications to various areas of the battlefield. "Sir, the battle group at the bunker are picking off the stragglers," one reported. "The Imperial forces in Kodeiv have unconditionally surrendered and are being detained now," another announced, while a third reported, "All Imperial forces on the terrain have been eliminated." When asked if the Imperial forces at the bunker offered surrender, the first officer conferred then reported a negative. Aerandir nodded.*
What about the Academy itself?
*An officer that had pulled up schematics of the Academy bit his lip, then slowly turned to face Aerandir.*

*Aerandir scowled. That wasn't good. Those facilities were necessary for the students to learn and practice their techniques, and without them, the Academy would have been on a complete freeze in activities until it was rebuilt. They needed another option, like temporary relocation. ... or maybe permanent relocation. An idea came to him, and he started to smile. Oh, Morgan was gonna love this...*
Perhaps it's time we moved a bit closer into the galaxy, be more "unified" with the rest of the Jedi Order...
*Michelle had been watching his expression curiously, particularly when he made that smile that clearly showed he was up to some scheme of his, but when he spoke, she instantly caught on, grinning. Aerandir, not surprised she had figured it out, winked at her as he turned toward the comm officer.*
Let's give our friends at Felucia a call...
*And now, for Morgan's reaction...*

Re: Command Center

*Morgan, too, noticed the stark contrast between the hangar and the halls. She had not thought much of her surroundings on her way here from the medical wing, for then she had only cared about making it to her father. But now, she could not only see it, but feel it. Death was thick in the air; it made Morgan shiver, but she tried her best to ignore it.

And yet, how could they? The Earth Empire was gone now, yes, but what they left behind was death and destruction everywhere. The halls were full of bodies and damage, and then there was the giant hole in the Academy, which she had not seen till now, and it was very large. Did it destroy part of the training area? What were they gonna do now? They may have won the war at last, but at a cost.

They entered the command center, her father immediately silencing the cheers and asking for reports and damage assessment. Morgan hardly listened to the reports of surrender and stragglers, though listened when the damage to the Academy was discussed, eyes focused intently on the officer. As she feared, the training area was devastated, as well as a few classrooms. She knew it. So what were they gonna do now, without classrooms and the training area?

Wait a minute. What was her father saying? "Move"? Move where? Where would they go to? ... did... did he say "Felucia"?! Morgan's eyes widened and she gasped, then beamed, squealing in glee as she snuggled against her father, squeezing him as tightly as she could. They were moving to Felucia! Morgan wouldn't ever have to leave her mother again! This was the greatest thing ever! A new chapter in her life was about to begin. And once more, it had been because of an act of the Earth Empire. Their last great act before their defeat.

And Morgan was completely okay with this.*
