:: Confirmed Joshua.. ::

*Zuli responded over the Comm..

As the landing are drew closer, Zuli activated the landing sequence..

The landing struts deployed as the ship's repulsors took over, reducing the ship's speed and height gradually..

The Mysterious Stranger came to a halt gracefully, the pneumatic pistons in the land landing struts easily took the weight as the ship settled down. Inside, Zuli powered down the ship. He turned his chair towards Mai's and smiled..*

"Right, let's get to work.."

Re: Open Terrain

*Above in the atmosphere, a Heliot-class freighter hurtled towards the planet-side. The engines suddenly cut off and any sort of mechanical hum silenced with the engines. Precious seconds later, the hum came back though the engines and thrusters still remained inactive. And on board, things were getting worse.

Eli swore, receiving another burn and shock to her fingers. She hated working under pressure like this. Worse yet, she knew that the ground could not be that far off. They were rapidly running out of time.*

"I'm trying Eli..! I'm trying to do my best."

"No! Don't try! Do it or we're dead! I'm counting on you!" *she called to the young girl. Eli found the steering's power cable and cursed. Nothing was wrong with it. The problem resided in the yoke itself. Rhy's call was confirmation.*

"Eli.. it still won't budge! I can't seem to level us out!"

*There was only one way out of this and even then, Eli wasn't sure it'd work. But what other choice did she have?*

"Listen to me! Do exactly what I say! Jerk it left, right, left, up, then down!"

*She prayed that this would work as she rummaged around for cords to hotwire. By a stroke of some miraculous luck, Eli found the cord to the repulsors. If she could turn them on, that might counteract their velocity. Possibly even save the Sanctuary from getting too horribly mangled. She climbed out out from her awkward position, reached up to the toolbox sitting on the edge of the hole, and grabbed the wire clippers. The wires were then clipped, stripped and the hot ends brought together to spark something.

Eli prayed to whatever gods there were that they would survive this crash.*

Re: Open Terrain

"Listen to me! Do exactly what I say! Jerk it left, right, left, up, then down!"

*The moment was tense. Rhyiianna had risen again, the smile still on her lips as she felt her Daddy's words flowing through her mind. She took the control yoke in her hand, but still it wouldn't budge. She jerked it right. She jerked it up. Still nothing.

She played Eli's words over in her mind again. She hadn't really heard her all that well, too focused on hearing Daddy. Still focused on him because not only were his words in her mind.. she could feel him too. He was here.

Looking down at the controls momentarily, she panicked again. She believed him when he said he would protect her, but she wasn;t sure how he could if they crashed at not only this speed, but this trajectory. The rate they were going gave them maybe thirty seconds at best. Time was running out.

As she went to call out to Eli once more, her entire body went limp. She fell, slumped over the chair before rolling to one side and landing unconscious on the floor. For what seemed like forever she simply lay there, though in actuality it was barely a second.

When the body of Rhyiianna rose from the ground, it was not Rhyiianna who saw through her eyes. A quick look in the viewport gave that away. The reflection in the transparisteel showed something else altogether. Her eyes were yellow. The eyes of Omega.*

~*=*~

=Omega=

*His vessel hung loosely at his side. The lightsaber he had clung to for so long clinging to the belt of his daughter. So much did he want to return that not even the Force itself could have prevented him. He was Omega. Nothing in this universe could stand in his way once his mind was set.

This was all it had taken. The power of spirit transference had proven itself worthy of his time. A small focusing of his latent Force energy, as well as a subtle manipulation of Rhyiianna's own Force energy, and here he stood. The Dark Lord of the Sith. Ready to conquer the galaxy and take all life at his will if he so chose. Why then did he not?

He knew there was no Jedi in all the galaxy that could ever stand against him. The only Sith that could ever hope to challenge him was Feral and after their last encounter, he was certain Feral would not make such an unwise choice. A vision of his battle in Feral's throne room in the Jygat on Mygeeto filled his mind, more specifically the Force Blast that had sent Feral crashing into a wall of planetary bedrock. The crumbled remains of Feral's throne laying on the dusty floor.

He blinked. There was no time for nostalgia. He had to act fast. He had taken over Rhyiianna's body for a reason and time was running out. Remembering the other girls words, he quickly jerked the yoke to the left, then right, left, up, and finally down. Giving the yoke a quick tug back gave him all the confirmation he needed. Steering was back online.

Putting his mind completely in the moment, Omega acted through the force alone, calling on it to guide his every movement. Holding the yoke with hand, his other hand floated above the console. His eyes turned a more vibrant shade of yellow as he fed himself more memories of his fight with Feral, fueling his anger and allowing him to channel more Force energy.

He began to manipulate the ships systems. The very power coursing through his veins firing up the thrusters once more. He was aware that Eliel's power cycling of the ship had given the engines back their power, but this was much quicker than starting the ship by any conventional means. Setting his will on the ship itself, he fed as much power as he could to the thrusters, pushing them to full reverse.

Without ever looking out of the viewport he could sense that it wasn't going to be enough. It wouldn't be the end though. Not for her. He had said he would protect her and he would. She would live. Her friend he could not guarantee, though for the sake of his daughter he hoped she would survive also. Rhyiianna would not understand what had transpired here today. She would need a friend.

He had seen her future. He had seen what she could become if she lived. "As long as you don't fail her today, Sith." a voice whispered in the back of his mind. The voice that replied was not Omega's. He almost lost focus for a moment as he heard himself speak, the voice that came out not that of one of the galaxies most feared Sith Lords, but that of a ten year old girl who would live to see her destiny come to pass.*

"Say what you will, she will survive."

*As the engines consumed precious power in their attempt to slow the ships descent, the ground grew ever larger in the viewport. Omega's eyelids flitted as he called on more and more power, drawing heavily on the dark side of the Force to control the ship. His process was slow and was fast taking up all the time they had left, but it was working. The ship's trajectory was drastically altered, enough that they would strike the ground belly first. Their speed was lessened enough that he could almost assure that at the least, Rhyiianna would survive.

Suprising even himself, he smiled. In his life, Omega had nothing. Except Rhyiianna. His daughter. Though she was not born as it, she was exactly that. His daughter. If there was ever one weakness in Omega, it was her. There was no length he would not go to for her safety. There was nothing he wouldn't do for her. She was all the humanity left in him.

Seating himself in the pilot's seat, he relinquished his hold on her. He gave her back her body. He knew what he was doing as his mind re-entered the lightsaber hilt. She would survive.*

~*=*~

*Rhyiianna blinked. Her eyes shot open in time to see the ground approaching fast. They were moving slower than before and their trajectory was far less steep. She wondered if Daddy had done something, but she didn't need to ask. She could feel him still. Deep down she knew that somehow, he had done something.

As the ground grew closer, and the first pieces of the ships durasteel hull crumbled in front of her, Rhyiianna shut her eyes tight, her mind speaking out through the Force, screaming four words into the darkness that enveloped her.*

<< I LOVE YOU DADDY! >>

~*=*~

=Omega=

*He was merely a spirit again. Inside his old lightsaber he was far less potent than he ever had been outside of it, but he still had more power than many of the Sith that now walked the galaxy. As the ship closed in on the planet, Omega; Dark Lord of the Sith, set his will upon his daughter.

His consciousness focused on nothing else. As the ship struck the planet, the first shock of collision shaking it's very foundations, he acted. Omega wrapped his daughter in the Force, cocooning her in the Dark Side. As the ship drove harder into the ground, breaking apart the hull in as many places as it was simply pierced, his will was set on her alone.

For half a second, he faltered. It was too hard to sustain, even for him with his near unlimited power. Rhyiianna crashed forward. With anger fueling him, Omega set his will upon her once more, cocooning her again in the dark side right as her body crashed against the durasteel flooring. She would likely have broken an arm, perhaps a wrist if she was lucky, but the way he felt her fall, he would be surprised if that were the case.

He was running out of steam. He could feel it as the ship continued to crash across the planet's crust. He wasn't sure how much longer he could hold it and the ship didn't show any signs of stopping. Large chunks of hull plating and transparisteel flew about the room, the viewport having shattered, bringing howling winds into the cockpit where Rhyiianna lay huddled unconscious on the floor.

Finally, the ship started to slow. As the seconds flew by, it slowed more, though it was still a raging storm of hellfire inside. For as long as he could, Omega hung on, keeping his cocoon of dark side energy around his daughter, protecting her from more physical harm. As he struggled to find more power to fuel the cocoon, his anger abated in the process of saving Rhyiianna, he let his voice carry back to her through the Force.*

<< Daddy loves you too Princess! >>

*Then as quickly as it had started, it stopped. There was no more cocoon. There was no more Omega. There was nothing left, the last of his energy gone as his voice faded in the unconscious girl's mind. Omega was gone.*

~*=*~

*Rhyiianna's unconscious body lay limp on the durasteel flooring. As the voice of her Daddy played in her mind, the rest of her shifted too. The ship had slowed, but it had not stopped. Her body was flung unceremoniously into the forward walls, crashing to the floor and waking her with a start. She opened her eyes. Where was Daddy? Why couldn't she feel him anymore? Why had he left her?

Tears streamed down her face as she wondered if he had ever been there at all. A thought that disappeared all too quickly as another violent shaking of the ship sent her face first into the wall once more.

All was black. The ship stopped.*

Re: Open Terrain

*A string of curses flew out of her mouth as Eli was, once again, shocked. Her hands were a bloody, sweaty mess. Her shirt was drenched in sweat and newly torn in a couple of places, as were her pants. The old freighter rocked and vibrated, creating an interesting time for the nineteen-year-old as they descended quickly. She was braced like she had been in her inspection earlier on Yag'Dhul: left hand stuck in a small area behind two metal studs, wrist between them, her body stretched out across the inner workings of the Sanctuary, and her right foot braced against a partially rusted metal stud. Eli had a hard time keeping her position while the ship hurtled out of control. Slowly, she felt the ship level out and slow down some, but she knew it wasn't enough. They were going to crash and burn.

Eli tried to remove her hand from the hole it was in but found that it was stuck. This was bad. If she could not remove it before they crashed, she was going to be in a world of hurt. She used her right hand to brace itself on the rough-cut edge of the hole as she pulled on her left hand, frantically trying to free herself. Her sweaty palm slipped and she received a deep cut in her right hand as a reward for her efforts. Now she was panicking. Her hand wasn't coming out and it was only seconds before they . . .

The ship lurched, connecting with the planet at last. Jerked forward, Eli lost her footing and slipped, the rusty metal slicing through her pants and tearing into her leg. Her own weight shoved it between some immobile objects hidden from her view, bruising and doing other damages. At the same time, her wrist popped as her left hand dislocated itself.*

"Kriffin' H--" *Her cry of pain was cut short by her toolbox falling onto her forehead. Mercifully, her world blacked out and she knew no pain. Eli's limp body was tossed about as the ship crashed and finally came to a stop.*

Re: Open Terrain

*A modified troop tranport rose from the Jedi Sanctuary, gaining altitude before banking sharply and streaking off into the distance.
Sabriel stood at the open door of the craft. She didn't need to see the tactical readout to guess the ship's trajectory - the Heliot class freighter had hit the atmosphere at a dangerous angle, and she could make out the glow of the overheated hull and the trail of smoke from the stressed and protesting engines across the sky.

The ship's crew had power cycled the ship in an attempt to rectify the problem, and Sabriel and the rest of the crew held their breath to see if the captain's daring gamble would pay off. The ship's engine's came back online, but smoke continued to billow, and the angle of descent didn't ease. Then slowly, the ship's bow wobbled. One of the transports tech crew had her data pad opened and a feed from the Benu's sensors onscreen.
*

"The ship's power has come back online, Master Ashakiran."
*She reported.*
"They're trying to use their thrusters and repulsors to slow their velocity and level the ship out - they must be having steering problems still."
*Everyone watched, nerves taut, willing the ship's nose to rise. Ever so slowly, it did so, and the protesting ship began to grudgingly level out.
But it was too little, too late.
There was a flare of Force energy from the ship as it slammed belly first into the ground, carving a deep furrow into the earth before it slid to a stop. The concussion rocked the transport and the crew clung on grimly.

Re: Open Terrain

"Damage report and life signs?"
*Sabriel snapped urgently, reaching out with the Force to the twisted metal that had once been a ship.
She recoiled as she encountered a pocket of Dark Side energy inside the ship. She frowned. She should have been able to sense a Sith that potent from klicks away.
Even as she sharpened her probe and reached out again, the presence shredded and faded away, leaving only an impression of anger and darkness...and something else...was that...love?!
*

"Ship is destroyed, life signs uncertain - the damage and fire is interfering with the sensors."
*The transport's sensor officer reported.
The transport swooped low, disgorging the response team and medical equipment before strafing the burning wreckage, releasing fire retardant.
Slipping on a rebreather Sabriel drew on the Force as she approached the ship. Smoke and dust clogged the air, making visibility difficult. The rescue team got to work as the flames died down under the troop transport's assault.

*The underbrush tore at her clothes, tugging at her as if trying to hold her back. But she could not be held back.

Her twin, her only family she had, was in danger.

Ariel found the trench the Sanctuary carved into the ground and ran along it, skidding to a stop when she saw the Sanctuary. No. It was impossible. Her sister was just as good a pilot as she was. It just wasn't possible for her to crash. Yet it was staring her in the face.

Ariel sank to her knees, oblivious to everyone near the wreck, tears pouring down her cheeks.*

"Eli . . ."

Re: Open Terrain

*Amidst the fiery wreckage, deep inside under the hunks of blackened durasteel and flaming plasteel that melted into oozing pools of grey sludge on the charred remains of the Sanctuary, a young girl lay unconscious, bleeding from multiple wounds.

Her left leg now bore a gaping wound on the rear of the thigh, deep enough to see the bone. Her left wrist was dislocated, but the arm was also broken just below the shoulder. Her body bore cuts and scratches from head to toe, bruising covering her once beautiful face. Her long white-blonde hair was soaked with her own blood, gashes on her head bleeding profusely, slowly streaking down her face as she lay silent, still, unaware of the tragedy that had befallen them.

Even as - unknown to her - the Jedi of Osarian came to the rescue, dreams played over in her unconscious mind, visions of her Daddy - the once almighty Emperor of the Sith; Omega - filling every moment. She would never understand what had happened. She had felt him with her. Heard his voice. Felt him in the room.

Maybe there would come a day when she could accept that it no longer mattered, but until then, she would always question whether or not it was a dream. She would never know what he had given up, what he had sacrificed for her to live, but it didn't really matter. Someday she would realize that none of it really mattered, because he would always be her Daddy.

Rhy's body shifted as the wreckage began to fall apart in places, durasteel plates crashing down on the far side of the cockpit warning of an imminent threat to the little girl's survival.

Rhyiianna needed help... and fast.*

Re: Open Terrain

*Sabriel's brief recount of events in response to Zuli's calm enquiry was interrupted by two things.
First was the arrival of a dishevelled, obviously distraught stranger, who raced into the clearing and dropped to her knees, eyes riveted on the wreckage, tears streaming down her face. Her anguish and distress was palpable through the Force.
The second was a metallic clang as the wreckage shifted. Josh and Zuli both moved to investigate, sensitive to the promptings of the Force.
Sabriel, meanwhile, approached the stranger. She paused for a moment, before placing a comforting hand on the girl's shoulder and projecting calm through the Force.

Re: Open Terrain

*As Sabriel's hand connected with the girl's shoulder, her eyes widened. For the girl's Force sense had an echo. It was nearby and oddly muted. The pieces fell into place.*
"You know someone on the ship, don't you?"
*Sabriel asked quietly. Deliberately using present tense.
Not waiting for a response, she continued,
*

"My name is Sabriel. Will you help me find your sister?"
*More than anyone else on Osarian, Sabriel could guess what the girl was going through. The doubled Force sense could mean only one thing. A twin. She shivered as she recalled the feelings of pain and loss that had ripped through her when her own twin sister Alcyone had almost died on Mon Calamari.
She gently urged the girl to her feet, guiding her through the wreckage, reaching out with the Force, searching for that flickering Force reflection of the girl beside her.

*It took a while for another person's presence to filter into Ariel's mind. When it did, she stifled her tears; she had to be strong. Now was not the time to fall apart. She stood and wiped her eyes, turning to the woman that had addressed her.*

"Yes. I know exactly where she is."

*If Eli had been flying, the Sanctuary wouldn't have crashed. Eli knew how to get the steering back online: she had figured it out once before. She could've done it again. And with the acceleration problems, it was only natural to assume she had been in the "Red Zone". She could almost imagine what Eli was doing when the freighter crashed. Searching for shorts, taping them up, cursing, losing her footing as the ship crashed, crying out in pain . . . Ariel shivered and darted into the wreckage.

She had to get Eli out of there.*

*Zuli gestured for Joshua to search the wreckage in one direction, he would head across in a parallel path..

He shed his cloak before pulling his Beskar gauntlets on, then began pulling and moving lumps of the burnt and in some cases, still burning wreakage. Zuli's mind remained open, allowing The Force to guide him to the trapped young one. He hoped he'd sense something from her, anything to give him a clue where to go..

After barely a moment, Sabriel and the other young one were moving closer to his position. Zuli stopped, looking in their direction..*

*As they moved among the wreckage, Sabriel saw Zuli, his massive frame limned by the burning wreckage he handled so easily.

Nearby, Joshua moved nimbly through the chaos, dodging fellow rescuers and debris, face intent.

Sabriel noted approvingly that their search centred on the forward section of the ship, towards the cockpit. That was where the pilot and any other crew members were likely to be found.

But the girl continued past the bow of the ship, towards a mangled section marked by still sparking wires. The girl at her side darted forward, entering the gaping hole, ignoring jagged edges, trailing cables and unstable flooring.

Sabriel followed, her senses alert for any shift in their precarious surroundings. She squinted in the dim interior. Sabriel didn't need to be a Jedi to know they had found their goal when the girl flung herself forward with an inarticulate cry, kneeling beside a limp form. Sabriel activated her com and two glowrods, handing one to the other girl, who was bent over her sister, trying to rouse her.

:: We have a survivor. One human female. She's unconscious, unresponsive, and badly injured. ::
*She paused for a moment, assessing the unconscious girl's injuries visually and through the Force.*
:: She has a dislocated left wrist, numerous abrasions, deep tissue bruising, at least one cracked rib, and a number of electrical burns of varying severity. ::
*Sabriel had barely finished her detailing the girl's injuries when a medical team with a repulsor strecher rushed into the cramped compartment. Sabriel felt the floor buckling alarmingly, and she reached out with the Force, strengthening and steadying the durasteel decking plates, coaxing them to hold for just a little longer. The medics stablised the girl and carefully transferred her to a stretcher before cautiously maneouvering the repulsor stretcher outside, towards the waiting transport. Sabriel eased out last, before releasing the floor, which groaned audibly.*

*Rhyiianna's pulse weakened with every moment that passed, though her presence in the Force was still there, not as strong as usual, but she hadn't been conscious for some time now. She lay completely still, her body motionless except when the debris shifted around her.

As she lay, the ceiling in the rear half of the cockpit began to melt, the extreme temperature too much for it to maintain any semblance of structural integrity. Chunks of red hot molten durasteel began to fall to the floor, one landing mere inches from Rhyiianna's leg. The next drop to fall wasn't so kind, landing on her right calf and burning not only her skin, but the muscle beneath also.

Rhy showed no physical signs of having felt it, but a pulse echoed out through the Force. She needed to get out of here now, or there would be no escape for her.*

*A sensation of pain Echoed through Zuli's mind, causing him to stop and change direction. He drew The Force into his body, speeding his actions as he drew closer and closer to the source of the Echo..

Zuli drew close to the remnants of the cockpit. The Durasteel hull was still burning in most places, creating an incredible wall of heat the closer you stood to it. Undeterred, Zuli pressed in closer. He began clawing at, and throwing the chunks of burning debris away..

After a few moments, he came across an opening, from the ground to waist height. Zuli crouched down and looked inside..

Highlighted by the glowing metal, he could see a small figure laying on the deckplates inside..*

<< Here.. I have another survivor..! >>

*Zuli's thoughts boomed from his mind through The Force, accompanied by a great sense of urgency..

He pulled on the top of the opening to stretch it, causing the Durasteel plating to creak and groan as it was pulled out of place. Zuli slid inside..

The heat inside the remnants of the cockpit was intense. Worse than the hottest heat in the deepest Deserts of Tatooine. Like stepping into an Oven. Zuli focussed his mind, projecting a Force Barrier between himself and the burning ceiling above..*

<< I am the Jawenko.. The heat holds no bounds.. >>

*He crawlled over to Rhyiianna, seeing the burning chunk on her leg, Zuli grasped it and threw it away. He pulled off the top section of his robes and gently rolled the injured girl into it. The Huge Jedi's robes were securely tied around her body, before she was carefully lifted and held in his arms..

Zuli slid out of the hole, carrying the limb body of Rhyiianna. Once outside, he yelled out..*
