Open Terrain

*Tes heard Wedge's voice over her comlink and let out a sigh. Without a word she made her way to the room as instructed. Once there she came to a stop behind Wedge, gazing at her injured comrades. Without looking at Wedge she spoke.*

"How are they?"

*Tes stared straight into Wedge's eyes with her ice blue ones, an inner rage seemed to glow in them.*

"The Sith who lead them has caused me great pain, it was rage that sent me after him first. I apologize, vengeance was the only thing on my mind at that point."

Tomax slaps the finger hand away.

"You're welcome." Tomax had killed a sith lord, protecting the right flank. He single handedly saved Tes' life. And he had come in at the last second to save another Mando. At least his fellow Poor of nar shaddaa bothered to Thank Him.

But then they were mandos, and he had saved them. Perhaps He had damaged thier honor by saving and possibly outdoing The warrior eliete of the galaxy, and at least coming out nearly unscathed when so many not. Yes, this was the anger of loss, not rebuke. That was it.
Tomax understood.

He held back other words For Possibly later.

When we needed you, you were asking for artillery in a city WITH A CAPITAL SHIP OVER IT. And your "help" cost Dack his leg! You may have helped us but you certainly cost us a lot as well.[/npc:31akmtvs]

*The mando was still thinking with his anger.

It's a good thing Tomax still had his helmet on, otherwise the condescending look he had might have inspired more anger in the warrior in front of him. And more anger in a hospital was never good.

He was blaming the jet pack explosion damage on Tomax which was a load of kriff(especially since that grenade round exploded no where near anyone but the Sith and contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be a mando to know how and be able to aim, and or know how explosions work).
He was blaming their engagement with the enemy that THEY chose to run to and engage after Tomax had left said approaching enemy, coming back to them only to find out they had left the initial combat area after him without telling him, also not telling him WHERE they went, to help him help Tes, and late he might add since he had already helped her, and had engaged the overwhelming forces they did not have to fight, especially since if one wants to win then you tilt the battlefield in your favor aka always making sure your forces have a 3:1 advantage, but they did not.
And he also apparently did not realize that he was blaming his loses on the fact that one man, who their (apparently old) leader did not want with them because he was not a true warrior, was not magically there to help them in their losing fight because he had just won one single handedly and left the area that they had now entered, late.

Pah.

He'll let him vent some more, as long as he does not fool himself into thinking these things are true.*

*Tomax stood there eyeing the man in front of him for a moment.*

*Could he be trusted in the same room in this condition with Tes?*

*He rests his hands on his utility belt in protest...then unstraps it and slams it down on the table in protest, side arms in the holsters clanking the table loudly. Then drops the bandoliers as well along with his new gift/ borrowed rifle.

He storms out of the room.*

*Tes blocks out most of the argument as she collects her thoughts. When Wedge said he needed to speak to her, she didn't look at him in question, she knew it was coming. She heard Tomax leave the room, she didn't turn to see him leave or turn to Wedge when she spoke.*

"What do you wish to talk about?"

*He followed Tomax just enough to lock the door behind him. Then he tapped his helmet to indicate comm channels.*

*Tes seemed to stare into the distance for several seconds before responding to the questions.*

:: His name is Jarik Romara, the last I knew he was a Jedi. Why he was here I'm unsure, I doubt he was looking for us to begin with. As where to find him the last I saw him before today was on Ossuss. ::

[NPC name=WedgeWell I can tell you, he ain't no jedi. We'll get him back though. I know we will.

You did ok out there, but I need to know if you can handle possibly facing him again if we're on another mission. Our lives depend on you, like yours depends on ours. We also don't want to keep running into him. [/NPC]

*Tes's eyes narrowed as she thought about meeting Jarik again.*

"I'll be fine. The next time we run into him I'll make sure it's the last, even if it kills me."

*Tomax stands outside the room in another one.

He stands over the bed of the dead Mando pilot who died flying him out.

He stares down at him.
Right into that 'T' Visor.*

--FLASHBACK--
*The images fly through Tomax' mind.

A massive alien sentient slams Tomax against the wall. The being's grip tightens on Tomax's throat.
He chokes attmepting to breathe.
The alien chuckles.

His buddies stand behind him grinning.

Tomax holds out his creds now, his only credits for buying food in the Nar Shaddaa undercity.

The alien grunts with laughter and slaps the creds out of Tomax's hands.*

[NPC]Alien:"We don't want your creds now. I think it will be more fun watching you squirm as you die. Heh heh heh."
[/NPC]*Tomax's face turns more red...and nearly blue. The color change covering the black and blue of his black eye.
Blood continues to trickle down the corner of his mouth from earlier hits.

His vision blurrs.

The alien laughs again.

Then-

*BLAM*

The alien suddenly looks stunned.
Smoke and a sickening smell rises into Toma'x nostrils as he gasps for breath.
He falls to the ground as the alien falls to his knees.
Tomax looks to the side.
The alien drops backwards to the ground.

In Tomax's view as he rubs his throat....a mandalorian, clad in gold armor. His followers behind standing behind him.
The mandalorian lowers his blaster pistol as he stares forward with that faceless visor.

Tomax simply looks back in return.

The alien's buddies sprint off.

The Mando continues to look down on Tomax from a distance.

Tomax can only stare back in awe.

The mando finally turns his head and walks on.

Tomax watches him go.*

--FLASHBACK ENDS---

*Tomax's eyes behind his own orange rebel visor stare down at the dead mando's helmet.*

*Tes turned to face Wedge and gave him a nod.*

"Who's going to break the news to Malice about his son? And everything else that has happened."

*Wedge opened the door and walked out, straight down the hall. He didn't care who or what was in his way, he just kept pushing through the hospital hallway. Once he got to the public communicators, he took a knife out and pried the hatch open. Reaching in and cutting a wire, he began splicing a few others in silence.

It took another minute, but when he put the hatch back on, and entered in some key commands. In another moment, he had a secure, untraceable link to Mandalore. He immediately began to call.*



*After the message was sent, he turned back to Tes.*

*Tomax heard the door open and turned to see the Mando briskly walk out.

He stepped out, and watched the mando, then walked back into the room and grabbed his weapons.*

"Tch..wait, I guess we have no other choice."

[color=#FFBF00:3lkazoqx]*The image of Jarik was burned into her mind. She shifted her weight, her armor reminding her of her wounds as it rubbed up against them. Wincing slightly as her chest plate rubbed up against a cracked rib. She pulled off her helmet, revealing a few small cuts and bruises on the left side of her face, and turned back to Wedge*[/color:3lkazoqx]

"You should get some rest, I'll keep and eye on the others."
