Re: Docks

*Mid-way into Week 2, and the drive reactors - which had received priority status over the other repairs due to their centralized location within the vessel - were nearing completion. Exterior hull sections that had been removed and reconstructed were also nearly complete, save for the dorsal section of each vessel, which had taken the most damage due to the primary weapons being centrally-located there. Those were also being extensively-overhauled due to the severe amount of overuse and damage. The largest and most problematic issues were the jointed sections, where the heavy turbolasers rotated on their weapons platforms. The conduits had been thoroughly-worn, and every conjoining section was sufficiently-weathered. Despite operating in zero-gravity, each component still had to touch somewhere, and that affected their wear-and-tear significantly if used like that over time.*

*However, now each ship would soon be sporting newly-refurbished cannons on each section of the hull. Each would operate like new, and were practically new guns themselves. The design and repair teams were pleased with their accomplishment. Despite being handed refuse, the crews pulled together and made them into jewels. Big, shiny jewels that would soon be back to devastating planets and enemies alike. There was one minor setback, dealing with the implementation of Rapier's main engineering deck. The interface terminals were having difficulties with connectivity, due to a circuit mismatch throughout the entire engineering section. Replacing them would take the remainder of the week, thus pushing them behind schedule a bit. However, they would still be finished in time to assist with the implementation of the gravity-well projectors on the Dark Web. Proper testing of engines would take place at the end of the week for both vessels, providing that there were no further mishaps in engineering.*

Re: Docks

*Being the last of the crew left on either ship Lieutenant James Frost had been a busy man. Despite most of the crews complete joy at their return, for the 25 year old officer it was a bit of a bittersweet return. Despite the comparative safety and security of Imperial space now rather than being second in command, all he was was another low grade officer in the ranks. There was little doubt that he'd be removed from command, with another officer taking over, one who may well be a better commander, but they couldn't find one who knew Rapier better than he did.* *Even so he kept himself busy supervising the repairs, he couldn't allow unfamiliar hands handle his ship (since it was still his ship for a little longer) without a bit of his own touch.*

*He had made sure that nothing in his quarters where changed, and that various little things, like the squeaky chair at tactical station 4 were taken care of. And even though he thought he was being a pain or a bother he seemed to genuinely enjoy helping them restore the ship that he and his crew had been barely holding together for the past 4 years. In addition he had taken a trip over to Dark Web just to make sure everything there was also well, including moving the command chair from the auxiliary bridge to the newly rebuilt main bridge that had been lost in the initial battle that had started this long journey.* *Everything was looking up... except perhaps the careers of the two Lieutenants who had to learn to be captains on the fly...*

Re: Docks

*The third and final week of repairs was coming to a close. Soon, every piece of the ship would be in place. The fighter compliments for each vessel were also being constructed and delivered to the docking bays via taxi. Each vessel was to be tested before rolling off the production lines, and their simulators taxed to the extreme to ensure that the firmware of each individual fighter was fully-functional and operating at optimal efficiency. The intensive labor being put into each vessel was also something to marvel at. Truly, the engineers and developers in the Foerost Shipyards were to be commended for their excellent work and preparation. Yes, each vessel would have its chance to shine as part of the Imperial Navy once again, the pride of their fleet, heroes in their own right. Vanguards of the commonwealth.*

*The gravity-well projectors for the Dark Web were being test-fired down towards the planet. It was the final step in concluding the repairs for the Interdictor, and the engineers wanted to ensure that it would perform its function without any slip-ups. Of course, with these being tested, it only meant one thing: the Rapier was completely-finished, undergoing final testing procedures for its engines and maneuvering capabilities. The two vessels would be ready to roll off the lines within the next few hours, well-within the desired completion time set by the shipyards themselves. Once everything was said and done, Lieutenant Frost would be informed of the speedy completion and would be allowed to inspect each vessel to ensure the quality of both before signing the final release authorizations to turn them over to Lieutenant Piett and the Imperial Remnant.*

Re: Docks

*Commissioned by the Grand Admiral of the Imperial Remnant, construction on a pair of new ships begin. The beginnings of their durasteel frames are set and connected in the vacuum of space, while construction of a multitude of engines and a pair of reactors begins within the shipyards factories. The smelting of durasteel plates of varying size begins. A large order for duranium is sent to Solomon mines.*

Re: Docks

*The large power generator floats motionless in space, held in place by a series of presser fields operated from the shipyards. To either side of it, immense durasteel frameworks are slowly moved into place around it by a fleet of tugboats, like closing a box around an object. Hundreds of engineers and droids get to work welding the frames into place. Tomorrow, when the last of the engines are complete, they will be slid into the frame and connected to the generator.*
